Singulair Asthma Medication Can Trigger Tourette’s (Premium)
Researchers at the Taipei Medical University Hospital in Taiwan studied a link between two prescription drugs for asthma and the development of Tourette syndrome symptoms. The drugs are montelukast (Singulair) and zafirlukast (Accolate). These are both FDA-approved for treating pediatric asthma and allergic diseases. Both medications are “cysteinyl leukotriene receptor antagonists (LTRAs).”
