General frequently asked questions are provided below. If you have questions about our membership plans, then please see our membership frequently asked questions page.
1) What is ACN Latitudes all about?
The Association for Comprehensive Neurotherapy (ACN) is a non-profit organization dedicated to sharing natural, alternative and non-drug approaches to neurological conditions as well as new therapies. We started as a grass-roots parent effort in 1989. We acquired an outstanding medical advisory board, moved from a print newsletter to an online presence and have been growing ever since! We cover a wide range of topics, with a current emphasis on ADD/ADHD, Autism, PANDAS/PANS, Tics and Tourette’s, OCD, Depression, Electrohypersensitivity, Learning Disorders, and Behavioral Problems.
2) What’s the best way to find information on this site?
Use the navigation buttons in the blue bars at the top of the site or type your keywords into the search bar (top right). When you click on a main condition in the nav bar, such as ADHD, you can look for categories within that condition. Watch for the colored buttons for Symptoms and Diagnosis, Prevention and Treatment, Families Speak Out, and Resources and Research.
3) Do you focus only on natural treatments?
We share information on integrative therapies and complementary therapies, with an emphasis on natural treatments and biomedical approaches. Biomedical approaches aim to find the underlying causes of symptoms and treat those imbalances rather than focus on medications primarily designed to affect symptoms. Yet we also include information on new treatments as they become available that may not fall under the complementary therapy umbrella. We also focus on environmental factors and their affect on health.
