Why I Love Amino Acid Assessments (Premium)
It may sound strange, but I have a soft spot in my heart for 24-hour urine amino acid assessments.
When I was 40, my life was disrupted with a temporal lobe seizure disorder. Called complex partial seizures, I would lose awareness of my surroundings, was unable to speak, and would focus inwardly, seeing unusual scenes that were somehow triggered in my brain. Usually they would only last minute or two. But a strong one could make me lose consciousness, with lasting grogginess for several hours.
I’d actually had these on rare occasion since my teen years, but they were so very mild that I’d never thought much about them or discussed them. Now they had suddenly increased in intensity. I was raising three kids as a single mom and needed to be able to drive, keep working as a school psychologist, and function on all cylinders! I was scared.
