It’s been a controversy for more than 50 years: Is fluoride added to water and consumer products a danger to health? There is plenty of reason to be concerned. Here’s one more finding that supports the need for caution. A study reported by the University of Toronto showed that higher levels of urinary fluoride in the mother during pregnancy are associated with ADHD-like symptoms in school-age children. Attention and cognitive problems were more prevalent than hyperactivity.
