  1. I know this from personal experience with my niece. She used to get a strep every spring, go onto antibiotic, and start stuttering...Several years in a row. Her pediatrician mentioned to my sister that there is research linking strep to stuttering. Not sure if this is definitely Pandas, or only strep. However there are soooo many things you can do beside abx for strep. To name a few: Streptococcus Thieves oil on the sole of the foot Blis K12 (an oral probiotic) I am especially leaning to the BlisK12. I know people have had wonderful results with it. Very easy to take and really effective. I have heard that the co NOW is best.
  2. My daughter also had a striated rash, about 5 years prior to her diagnosis of bartonella. Hers looked like someone had written on her back and upper arms with a reddish purplish thick marker. It did not hurt, and disappeared after four weeks. Her pediatrician diagnosed it as pityriasis (sp) which, after checking online years later, it did not match at all. I learnt about these linear rashes on this forum, for which I am thankful, that it led me in the right direction.
  3. I have read up on milk thistle, and although some do say its great for liver, I have seen otherwise. Milk thistle is a liver protector. It protects the liver. Your liver is supposed to protect you from toxins. Now, since your liver will be protected your OCD might get better, but headaches is definitely a liver symptom. So I think milk thistle is not a good idea for you. I have used a product called "liver balance" from the company Pure Body Institute of Ventura, with excellent results. You can also read up on his products on the website www.pbiv.com
  4. This might explain how lyme affects adrenal and thyroid function. http://fightinglyme.weebly.com/adrenal-fatigue.html
  5. I think you should look into Lyme disease and all coinfections. If your family members were all exposed to the same environment, and having the same genetic makeup, it would only make sense that same problem is expressing itself, if somewhat differently. Read the book "Cure Unknown" by Pamela Weintraub . Great source of Lyme information. BTW do you live or vacation in a Lyme endemic area?
  6. Yes, my kids had a hard time falling asleep, and a hard time waking up in the morning. This is typical with late stage lyme (adrenal fatigue). Shallow breathing seem like babesia to me.... The best starting point of antibiotics would be Amoxicillin, and then doxycycline (if he has all his adult teeth). We had good success with Zithromax too. Unfortunately the antibiotic would need to be changed every 30 days, for it to be continue being effective in avoiding Lyme cysts.
  7. You post sounds like a voice from the past. I can relate to many of these symptoms! Even if your troubles are strep related, they could still be stemming from lyme causing an incorrect immune response. I can definitely relate to long showers! and sensitivity to touch (bartonella related) Our first clue was a borderline low WBC.
  8. Bohb, The staring episodes you describe are called absent seizures. In our case they were caused by bartonella. They definitely need medical attention.
  9. Another diagnosis you might want to look into is Lyme disease. It does cause seizures, and alot of the behaviour you describe. And it is helped with antibiotic. Please check this out, as we chased the Pandas route for 5 years until we discovered that our daughter has Lyme/Bartonella.
  10. Just a quick question relating to this topic. My DD is a fair weight, but she many times "forgets to eat; or is just not hungry" If I would put food down in front of her, she would eat it all. I am concerned with her not getting the proper signal to eat. There have been times that she just ate breakfast after 4PM for no good reason. Has anyone had their kid "forget to eat"?
  11. In our experience, anorexia (or very poor appetite) was caused by Low Zinc stores. Once we started zinc supplements, her appetite improved. Zinc is the one mineral that supports the immune system. If it is taxed to the limit, it will cause a drop in appetite. In our case it was Lyme/bartonella. We were using an excellent source of zinc in a cream form recently. PM for more info.
  12. My sister has a child (12) who suffers from hair pulling. He is slowly balding.....My sister claims this is strep related. Does anybody have ideas, or solutions for this problems?
  13. I like the Restore product; I used myself. It definitely gave me more energy to get through the day. I know several people who have used it with similar results. Regarding the (Astridian) Del Scientific cream, my daughter used it for about 3 months. We are very happy with the results. It IS expensive. So if anything else is working.... stick to it. We saw improvement in : executive function, expressive language, and processing speed. I think anxiety also improved, although we are also doing some CBT. The company is recommending to use this product together with Restore; I think it is to get the toxins that were released, out of the body. I don't think it promotes the healing on its own.
  14. It breaks my heart to read these stories, and somehow it niggles in the back of mind, that just maybe, I might be in the same boat. We have had trouble with our two oldest; one had band 39 and 41. The other had band 41 and 93. I distinctly remember, being about 16 years old, and falling asleep during dinner. I have not have my full strength since. My mom was concerned enough to test me for mono etc, but who thought of Lyme then? (over 20 years ago...) Interestingly my younger kids don't have Pans related issues.
  15. Another fine point to the non vaxers! We have stopped vaccinating our children 5 years ago. I am sorry I did not know these things sooner, sorry about every vaccine I gave my kids. My older kids, born in the 90's were definitely adversely affected. The unvaccinated ones are such social, bright and agreeable kids. You can always decide to vaccinate, but never undo a vaccine.
  16. Whether this is Pandas or as I suspect, Lyme you might want to address this with antibiotic. Bladder could be affected by either of the two. I am mentioning lyme, because until we got a handle on Lyme/Bartonella we were also suspecting ASD's. This has been very much improved by the right treatment.
  17. Love this!! It proves that our kid's medical issues are not "my excuse for their behavior" as one psychologist told me. I know that Lyme can cause seizures, who knows what else.
  18. Just to share, our past experience. We have been struggling with Pandas/Lyme for many years. We finally hit onto a product that helps wonders. I feel that it really "took out all the nails". And now we can learn to walk again..... www.delscientific.com
  19. This is why we do not vaccinate anymore. I have not vaccinated my 3 youngest kids. They are smart, social and understanding kids. My 2 oldest, born in the 90's when vaccines were loaded with mercury, have been adversely affected.
  20. My son had band 41 and 93 too. Although this in not considered "full blown Lyme" he was better after treatment. If you are having the symptoms you explain, I think you need treatment. I don't know the value of retesting though.
  21. My daughter is doing very well on a product called "Restore" by Restore 4 Life available on Amazon. It is supposed to heal leaky gut syndrome. If I am reading your post correctly, it seems to me that your son has a gut issue. Biocidin is a probiotic and should not be causing what you explain....unless he is not handling well. Whether it was caused by vaccines (which I think highly probable) does not matter.
  22. From the research I've done glutathione is best given through IV push. It is available from Wellness pharmacy in Alabama, but you will need a doctor to prescribe and dose. Oral glutathione simply does not work.
  23. Are you dealing with Lyme? This seems typical of Lyme. Antibiotics help, and then cause Lyme cysts and stops the response. and then a different antibiotic, which works differently would do the same. Lyme treatment involves changing antibiotics every 30 days or so for this very reason.
  24. What you are saying makes somewhat sense, if I understand correctly. My daughter used to have a severe craving for salty/spicy foods. I was told by a chiropractor that this is an adrenal insufficiency. The adrenals spill salt into the bloodstream. A way to counteract this would be Vitamin C supplements. Vitamin C support adrenal function. Make sure to take one that is well absorbed, or eat high vitamin c foods. If you think that this is related to adrenals, I would strongly suggest you look into Lyme disease. Lyme hits the adrenals last, at a point where you would be really sick.
  25. I just realized this answer to my old post. I have spoken to Jeannie, who sells this treatment, but was not sure about it. How many times a day did you nebulize? How long after starting did you stop treatment? Were there no relapses? (How come they are the only ones doing saliva testing for spirochetes? I think if this were so effective, many more would be on this bandwagon??) Did you need a doctor to prescribe? What is the cost? Thanks!!
