Hi bcase, Yes, we give him a multi, and also 100mg B6, 500mcg B12, 500mg calcium, 50 mg zinc, vit E and selenium. He had some tests and his urine had high outputs of Xanthurenate and Kynurenate, the B6 was the intervention option to help with that. He was very low on B12. new tests showed B12 has come up since we started the B12. Magnesium was also low, that too has come up. The cal/zinc was to keep the Mag/cal/zinc balenced. I always start out real slow with a very small amount of a new vit. then take about 2 weeks to get him the the dose he needs. I found this helped with increased tics. I introduced a new one each month. I have not given him any thing new since last June when we weaned him off risperdal. I wanted to give his body a long time to recover from that drug. I will start the enzymes soon, maybe Spring break. I break up the Natural Calm three times a day. He gets 1/2 tsp in the morning, 1/2 tsp after school, then 1 tsp before bed. His total mag. for the day is 410mg. Hope that helps. Cheers, C.P.

OK... We all did the yeast spit test Carolyn posted and the males in the family had much better results, in it looked like they did not have much yeast. The girls had alot more spit strings. Interesting the two who have TS looked better in the yeast dept. Anyway my question is, if I do not want to start a detox for yeast is there natural ways to help with food? Anybody? Thanks C.P.

Hi bcase, Welcome, I just wanted to say my son tried Bonnie's at age 12 and he got a rash on his stomach, his tics did increase at the same time. Soy was the only thing I could pin piont as the problem, even though I had heard the same thing about the lecithin. About the Natural Calm, I do give him that for the same reasons you are concerned. Did not want the flavors. I just had to be on the safe side with him. He was 13 when I started it and he was only about 85lb. He is 14 now and 95lb. I really feel it was the one supplement that helped me get the ball rolling to wean him off risperdal. I wish you all the best, keep us posted on how she does. C.P.

Wendy, Welcome, I really feel for you. My son was 12 when he exploded, and I was so worried, so I know just what you are feeling. We did try Bonnie"s vit. and it seemed to make things worse, but it was very hard to tell it seemed like nothing worked for him. Could have been because of his age. I'm wondering if some of the moms and dads that have done Bonnie's started out with her vitamins or if they had tried other supplements first? Anyone do magnesium first or did you jump right into Bonnie's? Have you done any allergy testing? Have you changed her diet? My son was on the clonidine patch for a month and he had no reaction when we weaned him off that. His tics did not get any worse. I'll be praying that goes just as smooth for you. God bless you and your family, C.P.

Welcome Jenny, I baught an organic cleanse for myself (not ready to do my son yet) by Renew Life and I see they offer children formulas. KidZyme is one, it offers enzymes, probiotics and FOS to support digestion. My son has not tried it because he is 14 and would need something more for an adult. If you have a health store near you, maybe you could check out this line of products, and ask questions from the sales clerk. I don't know what age one can start KidZyme. I also would like to add take out of her diet all the junk, artificial colors and flavers, preservatives, and have her eat organic foods as much as you can. You can also look into the Kids Calm a magnesium formula made be the makers of Natural Calm. Good luck, C.P.

THANK YOU CHERI, I cried driving down the road the first time I heard that song too. I'm so glad you shared this message, it's beautiful. Cheri, you will lift up many people who are grieving today. We get so weary sometimes when we don't get the comfort we desire at the time we want it, but little messages like this help us through another day, and remind us God WILL deliver us. God Bless, C.P.

Thanks Tracy and Calicat, It's worse then I thought, Calicat, makes me want to cry. That is soooo sad. Thanks for sharing that, I'm going to dig my heals in deeper, and stay ferm on this on one, what a tragedy. C.P.

Hi All, Mark touched on something I have been thinking about. I didn't want to take over his post so I started a new one. I have noticed lately in teens how obsessed they are with their cell phones, and my-space. I picked up a part time job to help pay for the organic food, and I work with some teens. My oldest daughter (16) workes with me. These kids are not aloud to have their cell phones on their body while at work. We have lockers, and these kids are always in the back kitchen area checking to see who called them. I see it when I'm out shopping kids are flipping the phone, a minute later flipping it again. They seem anxious. Does anyone else notice this? My daughter got a cell phone 2 years ago but was told it was only for her to call us, and no-one else. She is very well liked by the owner, and I think it is because her mind is not on these distractions. My-space, seems to be another one. I wanted to give the parents with younger kids a heads up on what I have observed, because I'm wondering how this effects our kids with OCD. My son really has no OCD except his obsession with sports, (what man isn't) I'm worried if he would develope OCD with these toys so meny kids have now days. Anyway I wanted to see if anyone else has thought about this, and wanted to share so parents had a chance to think about this when your children become of age for cell phones ect.ect. Any thoughts, C.P.

Thanks Kim, Oh boy, We'll just say I misunderstood since she isn't here to correct me. Thank you Kim, you are a world of info. C.P. -
Hi Hope, If your son doesn't eat lets say eggs all that often you could start with that this week, but I would think waiting would give you peace of mind. Taking out the bad stuff is a good start. Good Luck, C.P.

I was told by my son's intergrative Dr. that thermosal was taken out, but aluminium was added. Something needs to perservere them. Yes, Yes, We need to all get together and storm Washington. Our babies bodies should not be injected with something unnatural. Faith, you would have to suppress your humor, or we would all know who you were with or without a name tag. C.P. -
annag, Could you look up your state to see what is required verses what is mandatory. I do not believe the meningitus vaccine is mandatory at a young age. I know a few high school students who said they had to get it before starting college. This give you the chance to turn down some you don't what her to have. My son and oldest daughter were given the meningitus I wish I knew then, what I know now. I'll be really hot if they are told they need it again because it wore off or something. I'll have to homeschool them at Basement U C.P.

emy, Welcome, I have never heard of most of what you listed, so I can't help you with that. I did want to ask if you have tried the epsom salts bath for him yet? Patty says the Magnesium cream works well for her son's neck tic. I was wondering if you have played around with his diet at all? My son does not have asthma, but I have read diet can really help with asthma. C.P.

I'm sure most of you know that 6 weeks after my son recieved dtap and meningococcal vaccine, he exploded with the screaming tic. This was very bad, it hurt my ears to stand near him. Again my son had some tics, but they were so mild I never knew he had TS or even heard of TS. So yes I do believe it made things worse. The fact that children can still get measles, whooping cough, ect. ect. even after being vaccnated, that bothers me. I remember the Dr. telling me that My youngest would not get the chicken pox, or if she did they would be very mild. Now she will have to have it again because it is not effective for as long as the Dr. has said. I'm so glad at the time people were running to the Dr for flu shots, mine told me not to do that for healthy children. Just let their own body fight off the flu. I'm just going to pray, pray, pray, that God will show me what to do. Kelly, I believe our lives have been change for the better too. God has shown me how self-indulgent I have been in my life. How so meny souls forget about him, as I did, in my teens and twenties. I believe God has shown me my failures, and also has placed such a peace in my heart that he will cure me of my faults. He is here, He sees everything, and wants me to give up the things that led me astray. I have come across a small prayer that I say everyday and hope to be the last words on my lips as I pass this world. "O my Jesus, forget and forgive what I have been." Amen I have spent the last 2 years before the Blessed Sacrament, and God is telling me to... Forget myself for others. Again, I say a fervent prayer for you all and your children. God Bless from a soul who wants to be honest, patient, and more charitable, C.P. -
Thanks Kim, Now I expect you to keep us updated on this cloned meat our brilliant FDA wants to approve. C.P.

Welcome Mark, We are not a pandas family either, but I was wondering how your son has been doing off the risperdal? My son also was on risperdal, and we took him off do to a huge improvement. My son was put on it for very loud vocal tics. You did not say if your son has tic. Is it only OCD? Other then the supplements, have you changed his diet? I see that could be a loaded question since he is 20. Is he in college now? Did the Dr. give you any idea when the PANDAS might stop rearing it's ugly head. Sorry I was not much help, but wanted to keep your post up front so maybe some of the PANDAS moms will see it. God Bless C.P.

Hi all, I have two very yummy recipes if anyone in interested. These are cold salads; FUME' SALAD, slice very thin one large cabbage, slice 4 green onions very thin, 1/2 cup crushed uncooked chinese noodles (something like ramen noodles) I use TY LING Naturals (found at whole Foods) 2/3 cup raw sunflower seeds (could use slivered almonds) we say away from nuts, Dressing, 1 cup extra light olive oil, 6 tbsp apple cider vinegar, 3 tbsp raw honey, salt and pepper to taste, mix and pour over cabbage salad, stir well, I chill it so the uncooked noodles will get a little less hard. BROCCOLI SALAD, 6 cups fresh broccoli florets, 6 green onoins sliced, 1 c diced celery, 1 c red grapes cut in half, Dressing, 1 c mayo (I use Spectrum naturals) 1/3 c raw honey, 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar, mix well pour over broccoli salad, stir, Opt; cooked bacon crumbled, 1 c slivered almonds toasted. My kids love these salads. C.P.

Strange Question - Very foul rotten egg stool smell
CSP replied to CarolynN's topic in Tourette Syndrome and Tics
I forgot to mention something positive about the apple cider vinegar. My oldest daughter has been using it to clear up her acne. She just puts some on a cotton ball and wipes her forehead. She is so happy how well it has worked. C.P. -
Patty, Since you and I seem to be on the same page about getting the nutrients from mostly food. I was wondering if one is eating a very healthy diet, with lots of raw foods, does this take care of the need to take enzymes. I hope that made sense? What I mean is does eating say raw seeds/nuts, lots of organic fruits/veggies, raw milk, and raw cheese, raw honey, and organic coconut oil. Would these foods have all the enzymes one would need, if supplementation was not desired? Wondering what you think, C.P.

Strange Question - Very foul rotten egg stool smell

Hi guys, Carolyn, you tapped into something I was wondering. What would the teen norms be for repletion or deficiency of vitamins. Is my son burning up (for the lack of a better word) his vitamins because of his age. (14) His antioxidant intake has been increased 100 fold yet he has gone down to an average level. Just wondering if this is something that will balence itself out after he body gets through this stage. What do you think? C.P. -
Could this be a big part of the picture for some tics?
CSP replied to CarolynN's topic in Tourette Syndrome and Tics
I'm in the process of figuring out how to get my youngest into school without vaccines. The only thing I have written down in our state is, a Family history of vaccine reaction, severe allergies, autoimmune or neurological disorders. So does this sound like I could go after a medical exemption because of the family history of a neurological disorder (TS). I am worried how hard this will be. She will have to get dtap and chix pox to enter the 6th grade. I'm willing to homeschool her until highschool if I need to get her through the puberty years. I'm with you Faith, BAD BAD vaccines. (scull and crossbones icon) C.P. -
Jenny, When my son exploded the tics that most bothered him was the words he could not control coming out of his mouth. He would say sorry after the negative words until the word "sorry" became a tic. He jumped from one tic to the next. I think she could just be changing tics to see which one she likes the best. That is how my son explains it to me. C.P.

Caryn, I have been wondering about kefir, would one be concerned about the grains used, if one were avoiding yeast? I have been tossing around in my head... I would like to make my own kefir with our raw milk, but I have let fear take hold, and have not jumped into that yet. My son showed no yeast problems, but I am keeping the yeast down in his diet. How do you feel about the kefir? C.P.

CSP replied to CarolynN's topic in Tourette Syndrome and Tics
Thanks Carolyn.N, Do you feel this is why kids outgrow most of their tics, because they outgrow the allergy, so histamine levels lower? I have been holding off on the enzymes, but I think I will give it a try I would love to report back to everyone how your theory worked on a child who has been dx with TS passed down from the genes. Thanks for sharing. I really do believe you must be on the right track, as so many kids are helped with diet change. Funny... This past summer when my father-in-law was visiting (does not think he has TS) We all see and hear his tics though. Anyway, after he spent 2 weeks with us and had to eat our good food. He did say he thought that was interesting we chose to see how food effects our son. Long story short, he whet home and has changed his diet somewhat. Eating sprouted bread ect... My husband and I think he is giving the diet theory a try, just to see if it helps with any of those tics (he doesn't have) God does answer every prayer, He may very well be using you to answer some of my prayers. Thanks C.P.
