Oh my, do I have clothing stories. Like others, dd was first dx'd Sensory Processing Disorder and we went through Occupational Therapy (of course not covered by insurance) for 9 months- brushing technique every 2-3 hours, listening therapy, etc. The therapy itself was fun, play really. It seemed to improve, but at the same time I had started bio-med with special diets and treating yeast, so can't be sure where the gains came from exactly. But, over time, I figured out a large portion of it was OCD- Grey ONLY colored sweat pants for 2 full years, wearing the exact same outfit to kindergarten for 21 days in a row (and what a relief you people know exactly what I mean about she would NOT go out the door without specific clothes- a literal nervous breakdown) I've chilled with the whole thing, too- how else to survive and get her to function? Her OCD has waxed and waned- we did a long stint last year with actual jeans (and peer pressure does help) But this year? Only Navy colored leggings. *sigh* So I buy enough, and wash enough.

Sorry, I didn't read the dosage :-/ No, I haven't used it more than once a day- I guess I've found 1x a day does the trick- just read the box, says under 12, do not exceed 4 tablets in 24 hours. So glad it is helping!

Hmm, not sure it's an issue, but I weigh 103 and always take the 2? It just says take the 2. How'd she do? Great you got her to drink it, hope it helped!

Hypercoagulability causing a plateau?
SSS replied to mama2alex's topic in PANS / PANDAS (Lyme included)
I've read high VEGF is also an indication for Bartonella-- (Although mine was normal) -
I started with Humaworm- check out there website. Inexpensive, fresh herbs, children's dosing.

Loss of appetite from augmetin/biaxin - any suggestions?
SSS replied to Hopeny's topic in PANS / PANDAS (Lyme included)
For me, YES! I have also recently finally tried the lemon squeezed in room tempature water- good too. But for the nausea, the Alka Seltzer Gold. I don't enjoy the drink itself, but it is fast (4 oz water) -
When my dd was 3-4, she used to chew her shirts to ruins- literally. On the bio-med boards, they said it was: Yeast Lack of Zinc Parasites I treated all 3, she pulled out eventually, (wasn't overnight of course) but haven't seen it since.

Great reminder. This is the toughest holiday for dd7. Her OCD has always been centered around clothing- you can imagine the costume issue- Furthermore, I forever battle yeast with her, and don't allow food dyes. School is one big sugar fest, with a loud parade to boot. It's a half day, the pressure kills her, and I allow her to stay home - much to her great relief, although every year we spend hours trying to encourage her.... :-(

I have no idea if your 8 year old would be willing, but Alka Selter Gold (has to be the Gold) is my new favorite thing. I just started minocycline and some new herbs last week, and feel nausea and blah. The Alka Seltzer Gold really helps- (maybe you could add stevia to it?) -

I believe Heparin can deplete calcium... I have been taking Bolouke, and dd7 Serraptease supplements for better penetration/blood flow, breaking up fibrin. -
nausea & fatigue within minutes of doxycycline
SSS replied to colleenrn's topic in PANS / PANDAS (Lyme included)
Doxycycline did the exact same thing to me. It helped to take it in the middle of a meal, and do not lay down after taking it for at least 30 minutes It did pass and get easier, but I also bought ginger candy to chew on to help the nausea. -
A quality curcumin/Tumeric supplement, like Enhansa, can really reduce gut inflammation. I've seen it first hand in dd, and I take 1200 mg Enhansa a day. Also like Longvida brand, our old DAN! Dr. recommended that brand. Don't know about the other supps for your purpose, but Vancomycin is a big gun, often pulled out for a bad case of clostrida/c.diff. Also good for Lyme.

Spinal taps are not the best way to rule out neurological PITAND from Lyme. If you go over to the Lyme forum here, many can help with testing suggestions. Also, if Lyme (and it comes with co-infections) a Lyme Literate Medical Doctor (LLMD) would probably be best.

I have heard when starting prescription anti-virals, yeast flares. Have also heard it can cause metals to release-- maybe add a binder.
-
Sorry, in thinking more, I realize you are in a state of emergency right now. Since they are cutting you off, and you've had this severe relapse as a result, maybe an IVIG? I think you've not had it before for this child. Have you taken him back and told them about the huge relapse? Wish you better days-

I wanted to add something about Lyme/PANS- My dd7 has been off antibiotics, treating Lyme and co. w/ herbs, Cowden protocol. Doing 'okay' until an illness from school came into the house- OCD started coming back around clothing, aggressiveness, etc. Tried to manage w/ ibuprofen, keeping herbs going- the PANS flare continued- getting worse. I broke out the Azithromycin- not kidding, 1st dose quelled it. Azithromycin hasn't been magic like this for us in a long time- maybe it is now because she's been off it for a long while. (by the way, she doesn't have strep, had it checked) I plan (ha ha) to just do a 7 day stint of the Azith., then go off- still doing herbs/Cowden throughout- I guess my point: If you go to treating the infections with herbs, maybe keep a little stockpile/ stash antibiotic in case of emergency.

Thank you- I bookmarked the sight, and will probably order a few age appropriate books for my 5 year old- it's hard to explain it to her-- so young.

Honestly, it'd be a whole lot easier sometimes to say frock it, it's Aspergers. Instead, I've spent my 401k trying to figure it out and help. And if I had endless money, you bet, I'd fly around and get some more input.

Sorry SF, that product did not have ginseng, but ginkgo - very different, my bad. Thanks again!
-
Thank you, I appreciate it. I ordered some Quercetin, on quick ship, that is how desperate I am. SF, I am actually on Enhansa- my dd has a phenol issue (even with no phenol enzymes) I did Enhansa with her 2-3 years ago, she got crazy hyper, but it reduced gut inflammation, and then she broke out in a big viral rash. Interesting on the 2nd item you listed- but it has ginseng, and the very last thing this child needs is more energy. LLM, looking over your recommendation - interesting on the low phenol version- I may order that, too.

Oh, I am so sorry! I tell you, this stuff is rough. I have dd7 on the Cowden 6 month condensed protocol. I am not endorsing it, too soon to tell, we are only on day 42, and the problem we still have is a cold type virus comes through here, and all he!! breaks loose. We had gotten to full dose (for her weight) of the Samento and Banderol, which are used for the first 3 months before switching, we were 'okay', then she got a cold (and yes I had her and sister's throat checked for strep.) I don't have the very clear picture like you do: Antibiotic combination, totally fine, off antibiotic combo, 180 turn around. That is pretty significant. There was a poster here who was starting Zhang's herbal protocol, wondering how that is going? Sorry I can't be more help- you do have my moral support.
-
Hello- I know this has been talked about, but search function didn't work for me- Wondering if I can get feedback. Dd7 is in a flair with another virus cold- I am dosing ibuprofen 2x a day, but I really need to find something else. I can't do curcumin with her- Never have used Quercetin- does anyone find it effective for reducing inflammation? Thank you-

If you want to get it without a Dr.s signature, you can order it from MyMedLab.com It is the GI Effects Complete MMX

Low neutrophils and/or high lymphs?
SSS replied to landamom's topic in PANS / PANDAS (Lyme included)
**I think it is the Lyme disease. Is it being treated? -
I have Lauriciden here, and have taken scoop full of pellets, and felt nothing. HOWEVER, we have been using and cooking with organic coconut oil almost daily for 3 years now, so I think I have built a high tolerance to it.
