  1. PowPow- curious what treatment you are doing? My dd's ANA has been positive for 2 years now. Her Sed Rate ranged from 96 to 55 between Nov 2011- June 2012. Normal in a child is below 10 or 14, I believe. Her sed rate is normal now, but goes up when d-nase increases -assuming due to inflammation. Dd is dealing with lyme, bart, strep. C-reactive is another blood test you may want to run along with sed rate.
  2. have you looked into co-infections, esp. bartonella.
  3. Good to hear Susan - yay!!

  5. Good for him! Congrats!!
  6. My HE toploader was recalled last December, but not for mold - it had to do with the spin cycle while washing waterproof items. I finally just got around to scheduling the service appt. While the guy was out on Tuesday, I asked him about the mold (I wasn't sure if it was just dark soapscum), and he said yes and just used his hand to rub some away (gross). He said it happens all the time with the new washers. I always leave the lid up with this new machine - always have. Oh, and the reason I purchased this expensive model - was to be able to wash my daughter's waterproof allergy mattress cover once a week. Its a thin cover that grips onto the corners of the mattress. And it was the full size drum that sold me. Now with the recall, you can longer wash waterproof items. I wish I had my old machine back lol
  7. Hi, Is she on any probiotics? Did the tummy aches start with the Augmentin, or prior? I feel it very important to be on some type of probiotics while on antibiotics.
  8. Thanks. We purchased an LG top loader, I guess about yr and half ago. It always has mold in the silver drum along the top - uggh. Prior to the top loader, we had a cheap Kenmore for 15 years, and I don't ever recall seeing mold. I'll try running vinegar and borax through it, and spraying w/ peroxide. I have been running the tub cleaner cycle monthly with their recommended cleaner - but it doesn't help.
  9. I have to agree with T.Mom. Some other suggestions: excuse the attendance policy while in a flair, extensions and/or modifications for assignments due to lateness/absences, allowing a parent to write out homework assignments dictated by child, chunking of tests if needed. You may also want to suggest not having your child chosen to walk another student to the nurse's office, increasing the risk of illness. We started out with a 504 and eventually needed more accommodations. Our district refused an IEP for my daughter, stating some medical but mostly somatization as the reason. Even though we had four doctors letters, lots of abnormal lab tests including elevated d-nase, positive culture for borrelia w/ photo of spirochetes in her blood sample - it became a fight. We were headed towards hiring a lawyer. Well, after a 2 yr battle, my daughter received an IEP two weeks before the school year ended last June. It has been instrumental in getting my daughter back in school. She has a case person there at all times to assist her if needed. She is in her first year of middle school and she would have never been able to attend, without some of the accommodations from the IEP. I cant believe it took this long! She had some recent treatments that helped as well (couple months on doxy, ivig, intensive program at rothman- fantastic), but still definitely needed the IEP. For those you know my issues with school - dd has completed 14 full days and 2 half days - Yay!! Started with minor symptoms 2 days ago with dental cleaning, so worried about that Good luck!
  10. How much vinegar do you use in the washer machine? Is it an LG? thx
  11. LLM- do you wash all your clothes with borax or just run an empty cycle with it at the end of the day? If you wash with borax - do you add laundry detergent? thx
  12. Can someone remind me again of the treatment for a new infection of lyme disease with bullseye rash. thx! edit- adult treatment
  13. What is the reference range for your dd?
  14. We really never dealt with tics (besides major onset flair) except eye blinking/throat grunting. The eye blinking is rarely noticeable anymore, but I do see an increase right after dd's infusions, and also with strep.
  15. This may be the same as the company I mentioned somewhere on this thread. www.licelifters.com LLM- there is a location in Hamden (if close) if needed. They also sell a metal comb and mint detanguler spray, as well as other non toxic products. Hopefully you wont need this!
  16. Do you remember what the product was?
  17. I purchased the fairytale products at Ulta, but I think the company sells them on their website too. btw- I cant stop itching just reading this page - yikes - lol.
  18. You can check out licelifters.com
  19. No experience with treating lice- fortunately been able to avoid it so far. When I get the notice that lice is going around school, I start using the Fairytale line. Not sure if it helps, or we've been just plain lucky.
  20. Here are some organizations that may be able to provide some finacial assistance: Lyme Aid 4 kids Lyme- Tap Clinic of Angel Needy Meds
