Hello, I was so scared to do our first ivig for our dd she was 5ish then but we went to dr.k in Chicago and it was the best thing we had ever done!! we did need to do it twice we had ivig done again in Feb almost 1 year to the date Ivig helped alot for sure and I can say that she went back to 100% both times but that is us,and the first months are hard. I dont know the doc that you are going to, just make sure to do all of the tests first because I dont think ivig helps if you have lymes or something else. does the doc that you are going to talk to Dr k about ivig? We have just went to dr.k so that is the only Doc we know. I stoped looking for help in our town,my dd doc did help us out a little but not much and we got tired of waiting so we just did it,we did not wait for insurance or anything we just did it and paid everything all off but our insurance paid for the ivig but not the doctor or the office visit. so it is expensive for us because we had to fly,hotel,rent a car,food... but I will do it again if we need to..but I pray that # 2 will be the last..... Hello We had IVIG # 2 with Dr.k in Feb for my dd she is 6 also and we got the same list but no vitamin E But I am not sure I could get her to take anything more anyway How is your son doing? Thanks Tracie

So does anyone's kids have a small set back when the go swimming? my dd was doing great and then we took her swimming and there was just me and her in the pool and within 45 mins she started telling me that she knows her PANDAS thoughts are going away and that she has been doing good BUT!!! I keep thinking about that one thought that I keep having ( the one about dying) and I thought to myself ARE YOU KIDDING ME!! I swear just when we think that things are going to be ok something comes up. But she seemed to snap out of it again and seems to be doing ok again. So was it flipping back the pages from ivig #2 or the chemicals from the pool this never effected her before? I am at a loss.. like always Thanks Tracie

If you can money wise.. I would have him go we have been there twice and yes on the second day after it is all over with it all hit's at once Have him drink LOTS and LOTS of water before it might help Dr K is Great Bring a thermometer,and some fever reducer... and stock up at Wallgreens with food and snacks if you dont want to eat out all the time and IF you can give yourself a couple of extra day's after everything is all done just so he is feeling good on the way home he just might be tired but he will be feeling better after a couple of days Good luck keep us posted Tracie

We are still here.. We went back for IVIG # 2 with Dr.k and we are seeing good signs again.. What are we doing different this time? We pulled her back out of school, we are not letting her play with anyone who is sick and I am going to home school her for first grade next year so we hope she can get a full year or more of healing.. other than that? we just wait and see...and we enjoy all of the "good days" and pray for the bad days to be gone. We are going to try to do homeschooling next year for my dd she will be in first grade should be in second but we have had to pull her out so many times because of her PANDAS So now we are on our ivig #2 and I am just going to do for first grade and see how it goes she needs time to heal and public school is just not the place I hope I can do it but I think I have found a good one it is called k12 online? is anyone elce on this one?It would sure be nice to have someone to talk to about it. I think as long as they are getting some school it is better then pulling them in and out all of time. She loves school and she is very good at school and she is NOT happy about homeschooling but she understands that this is what we need to do for now. And I pray that when I do put her back into public school again that it wont start ALL over again. Tracie

Did they give you a rx for a steroid for the headache and the nausea? keep the water or gatorade flowing this will help with the haedache for the week. we have had IVIG with Dr K twice and that is what we did. we also have a Coram center in Denver that we were thinking about trying but we just went back to Chicago but I do know PANDAS parents in Denver that might find that IVIG might work for them in Denver. Hello I have pulled my dd out of school AGAIN and I am going to home school her next year we just got back from ivig # 2 with dr k and I dont want to go back EVER So school is not the place for her to heal to many sick kids all of the time. Tracie

My dd has a hard time eating also You need to call Dr.K or Dr.B or someone that will get you on the right track to see if she has PANDAS and what you need to start doing about it. Having a hard time eating is very common with PANDAS. We have been to see Dr.k twice for IVIG and he is very good, and I have been told that Dr.B is also very good. The first step is the hardest.. but it needs to be done Tracie.
