  1. I'm not on this forum as much, mostly on the lyme forum, but wanted to extend a big cyber hug. I'm sure more folks will be along to cheer you up! The good thing is, there is more knowledge these days...now you just need to figure out what will help. Hang in there! Hopefully, you'll get some good suggestions soon.
  2. drugstore.com Are there any interactions with Milk thistle? Currently, the only known drug interaction with milk thistle is metronidazole (Flagyl). Check the milk thistle thread - I posted an article that lists other meds effected by milk thistle. MT by itself seems to have few side effects, but apparently can change the rate at which other meds are metabolized, causing either too little or too much of a med to stay in your system beyond the normally expected half-life. Flagyl is listed, yet my LLMD said it's ok to take with tindamax. So I would definitely run plans by your doctor. Thanks!
  3. drugstore.com Are there any interactions with Milk thistle? Currently, the only known drug interaction with milk thistle is metronidazole (Flagyl). I also read on the canlyme website that it should not be taken with flagyl, because it may diminish the effectiveness of the antibiotic. With that said, it seems many llmd's are saying it's ok to be taken with tindamax (same line as flagyl). I may consider it for my daughter's constant elevated LFT's. I need to run it by her doctor.
  4. I mix the Burbur in "Hint" naturally flvaored blackberry water (1 ounce). On days she's giving me a hard time, I mix it with Vitamin Water. Are the Bentonite capsules on the larger size? Anyone?
  5. My daughter's first notable MAJOR episode took place in March 2007 (also in same geographical area!?!). She was seen for Tourettes at CHOP in April. Many only have a minor stomach ache with strep. You know, the little complaint of just eating too much ice cream. You wouldn't go to the doctors for that. Yikes. btw- a friend who knows about my dd's situation with pandas/lyme just told me about a child (mom's a client of hers) who was all of a sudden extremely clingy. Nothing else. The child's grandmother insisted that the mother take the child to the doctor (family did not know about pandas) since it was so out of character. The pediatrician suggested a strep culture...it was positive. This was two weeks ago. It's nice to know the info. is spreading!
  6. Glad to hear your appointment went well, laure!
  7. Sarah Jane- For my daughter I use Natrol Melatonin 1mg Liquid, so I can easily adjust the dosage up or down. I mix it with juice. It was recommended by my dd's neurologist. I purchased it at Rite-Aid. For myself, I use Source Naturals orange flavored sublingual 1mg tablets. I also have Amantilla Relax-Sleep (by Nutramedix), but have not used it. It's a herbal supplement. Someone once mentioned on this forum an epsom salt (homemade) cream that you could rub into the skin, but I forget the ingredients. anyone??
  8. You might want to check out Familyof5 posts. She's dealt a lot with Mold. Maybe she'll chime in.
  9. Thanks for this! Started the MT last weekend when DS was really bad off and haven't called the LLMD to verify it was ok. We're due to start tindamax this weekend. Wonder if it's ok to take in the 5 days between pulses to help clear up the die off? Will have to call tomorrow! I'm pretty sure MichaelTampa uses Milk Thistle and is currently on Tindamax, so hopefully he will chime in. I just remember reading it could cancel the effects of the antibiotic. Maybe, they just need to be given at different times.
  10. I just wanted to mention that I read Milk Thistle shouldn't be taken with Flagyl (which is the same line as Tindamax? correct?) on the canlyme website. It said it hinders the antibiotic. But if the llmd is prescribing it, than I assume it is fine. It's probably something I should consider since my daughter's LFT's are constantly elevated.
  11. Thanks Wendy...we see him in 5 weeks.
  12. Wonderful news PhillyPA!!! I hope to read your success story one day in our local paper.
  13. Yes, I ditto that.
  14. Hugs Susan! Ever since my daughter's setback the end of January, I feel the same way...very discouraged.
  15. I agree with the ERP & CBT. My biggest regret is when my daughter was doing better with her ocd (90-95% was gone), that I would have spent more time working on that aspect. Now that a lot of it's back, I'm frantically trying to address it. It's not debilitating right now, but enough that is making life difficult for her.
  16. So glad to hear the yong boy is ok...crazy! off topic- I would like to add Parsley (already in my cupboard) to the Burbur I'm giving my daughter. Can they be mixed together? I give my dd 15 drops of burbur in am/pm...should I slowly add in 15 drops of the parsley - taking it to 30 drops of both, am/pm.
  17. laure- I'll pm you the name of an llmd that is located in NJ (not sure where Bernardsville is though). Also, any doctor can order the Igenex...family, chiropractor, DAN, exc.
