  1. I have the name of a lyme friendly doctor (Family Practice & Endocrinology) in Pennsylvania. Not sure where you are located. The Dr. was a speaker at one of the recent lyme conferences. pm me if you would like the information.
  2. Daughter is 9. Minocin is being used to treat her co-infections. She's been on it for 2 months now with no stomach issues. I currently give her 250+ billion cfu daily probiotics. Hang in there!
  3. Amox & Zith in morning, Amox & Minocin with dinner.
  4. fixit- off topic...your mailbox is full.
  5. Melinda, I took the appointment. Igenex said it takes 7-10 business days to get results so I don't think they will bump mine up just because I have an appointment. Can you tell me what medications your daughter is on? if all goes well I will then need an appointment for my daughter too. My daughter is currently taking Amox, Zith, Minocin, and Tindamax (cyst buster) on weekends.
  6. If you decide to take the appointment, is it possible to call Igenex and have the results faxed directly to Dr. J as well. Tell them the date of your appt. Just thinking out loud. I am very happy with the progress my daughter is making under his care. She still has setbacks, but overall is moving in an upward trend. During our evaluation, he could tell she was dealing with Bartonella even though she was negative for it thru Igenex. He started her on a combination of abx that would treat it, as well as lyme. She did end up testing positive for it. I don't want to persuade your decision...just wanted to let you know he's been very helpful to us. Praying for better days soon!!! Melinda BTW- anyone who remembers my daughter is a major hoarder...today she donated 70 of her books to a local charity at school. Major step forward! I was so proud of her...better yet, she was so proud of herself! Now, if I could just do something with all those stuffies!
  7. Hi Karen- So glad you received some answers. I hope you feel better! Melinda
  8. He is on Doxycycline. He is young for it, but he's allergic to zithromax. Yes, his IgM was still elevated at his last test. We had the first test done in September and the second one done in December. Great to hear of the drastic improvement! Hopefully, this is your answer. Thanks!
  9. I'm curious how you are treating the myco p? Is his IgM still elevated?
  10. Awww Emerson...I knew you were special! Happy Valentines Day & Happy 16th B-day!!!!
  11. kmom- Dr. Jones has a dvd player (or vcr--not sure which) in his small office, so you may want to bring a movie--his selection is geared to the younger ages. I took my mother with us to the appts. and asked to speak with him alone first...it was not a problem. He is very kind and does a wonderful evaluation. He spent almost the same time at our follow-up as the initial appointment. He believes you should continue IVIG if it is helping, but does not push it. He recently told us that some of the families he is seeing for pandas/lyme are having success with IVIG every 8 weeks, some at 3-4 months, and some not at all. Basically, the same as we've learned here. Good luck tomorrow!
  12. Thats wonderful to hear!!! May I ask if your daughter has had strep since turning 18? Are the minor flairs from viruses? Thanks!
  13. daughter: Klaire Thera-biotic Detox Support, Florastor, Culturelle, Integrative Probiotic Pearls, and sometimes Custom Probiotic Six Strain. Currently giving 300 billion CFU daily.
  14. How wonderful of you! I've heard of LymeAid 4 Kids.
  15. My dd had 4 HD IVIG. The first two she vomited. The second two she was given a very small dose of steroids halway thru the infusion...no vomiting. It also helps to be well hydrated (with oral liquids & bag of fluid during infusion) and to have the infusion administered at a slow rate. Even with all the above, they still may vomit.
  16. norcalmom- Most give this abx with food. I think someone even said half way through a meal is better. I have been taking Doxy 100mg 2x day for a little over a month with no stomach issues. Many days I even take it on an empty stomach. I must have a strong stomach. Anyway, I'm hoping this is short-lived and he is feeling better for the trip!
  17. I politely disagree. Most labs don't test for lyme specific bands 31, 34, 83.
  18. Hi Karen- I'm glad you found this website. I saw your reply to my severe leg pain post...thanks for sharing. I only have a moment now but will post more later. I am also from the Phila area (suburbs). I have heard so-so feedback regarding Dr. Brac...I will pm you info later. There is a mom on this forum who has seen him, so hopefully she will respond as well. Woodlands in Quakertown is a great, great treatment center (don't know about for lyme though). They don't accept our insurance...or my family would be patients! I'll add more later. Hang in there!! Melinda sending you a pm now.
  19. I notice this deep thigh pain is considerably worse in the evening, yet I hardly did any standing/walking during the day. Same as yesterday. I can see it's going to be another sleepless night.
  20. The first time I'm seeing it as well...Thanks Wendy!!! I also have many, many of those small red dots.
  21. Sorry you're feeling queasy. Just wanted to chime in to wish you a happy birthday!
