  1. Lenny, Glad your son is doing well. I just wanted to ask if you saw a difference with separate supplements vs Bonnies? I am trying to decide on what to do with that.
  2. Caryn, was the wheat and corn on the ALCAT test and were they in the red category? or did you discover this by trial and error?
  3. Lenny ,did you feel the Bontech vitamins made a difference over individual supplements or the same? Glad to hear he is doing great.
  4. Just curious on your daughter, Did you try any of the suppplements or did it just stop? Has she been sick recently?
  5. Yes, he said that it could be family tics, yet virus induced. He didn't elaborate much further. I guess I will have to order that bubble big enough to hold my son-just kidding.
  6. He also said that he is still working on the virus idea. The thought that it starts as a virus of somesort, but becomes something else. It reminded me of Michelle where it was strep induced at first, yet now has continued. I told him we all appreciate the research he is doing.
  7. Kim, most of what you have posted is over my head. I am glad that you are involved because I just cant seem to get it. I called UCDavis and spoke to Dr. Sharp-I really didn't think I would get him, but it was his direct line. I wasn't even sure what to say when he answered and he was very nice yet I wouldn't suggest calling as not to overwhelm him. Anyway, he said he had 2 children with tourettes- I thought he only had one, but he said 2. He also said someone had emailed him about magnesium recently and he had someone checking on this. He is still looking into the virus route and the few studies that have been done with autoimmune drugs haven't had many results yet.
  8. I am wanting to get my son tested for the IGG. His naturalpath Dr. says he can order it. Should I request that it be Alcat? Does it matter? Does everyone find the IGG test to be accurate assessment?
  9. I googled the Mind Institute and the Neurologist that spoke on this. It looks like he was granted money in 2006 to do more research. Sounds like he was going to be researching the autoimmunity angle as well. $300,000 for the next 5 years. I am half tempted to call there and say so how is this going? Just glad someone is working on it and considering the autoimmune angle. I did speak with a DO who also thinks this is an autoimmune angle that I saw on this board a long time ago. His name is Dr. Louis Kaplan. He says that he called the TSA to tell them of his research years ago and they poo-pood him. Has anyone heard of him and his research? He seems to be retired now as he is in his 80's but is trying to right a paper about his research.
  10. What are your thoughts on homeschooling for awhile? I used to be a teacher, and just my 2 cents, but if you are putting him with other children with emotional problems, would they feed off of each other and pick up other behaviors? I am sure there are many good schools out there though and if home schooling is not an option, you should be able to find a great one!!
  11. Something else I found interesting about bipolar 2 of the medications on the list were Abilify and Respirdal. Once again sounds familiar. I guess what I would consider is that something is affecting their brains in different ways. What might help?
  12. Where can you get these strep tests? Now all I need is a way to get the antibiotics and I wont even need a Dr.!!!!!! Sometimes I get to the point where I think hmmm. why didn't I have the forsight to go to medical school!
  13. I know when I read a post of Michelles when she saw Dr. Murphy it talked about treat the symptoms. Example- her son had motor issues so go to OT. Maybe Dr. Murphy will help with this rage - forget the title, treat the issues most pertinent. I know I looked up a few supplements to treat bipolar-just a coincedence that I had met someone yesterday whose daughter has bipolar and said she also had ADHD, bedwetting, seperation anxiety and a few other things I found related to Tourettes. Some of the suggested supplements were Omega 3 and magnesium.
  14. Wow! I was wondering if the Dr. put either of your children on antibiotics and what the result of that was?
  15. Just something I found interesting-I was looking up bipolar today and associated behaviors. Tics was one of them. Discusses rages and things of this sort. Just thought I should put out there that tics was an associated behavior. Rage was an associated behavior of Tourettes. Hmm..confusing.
  16. Sounds like you have a lot going on with your guy and you sound like a wonderful mom. Have you tried anything such as the supplements? This website is full of a lot of info and the nice thing is you will be home with him so you can see if anything has a positive affect on him. Does the Tenex seem to help with the tics and does he have any side effects with it?
  17. Just curious as to if this is the first year of homeschooling and how things went prior to this year. Did your son have issues before, but this year is the worst? or was everything fine until recently? wWhat is NVLD? I figure it is a learning disability. Have you tried any alternatives such as supplements and is he on meds? Sorry to be intrusive. I hope you find a lot of support here and think of it as a year of healing. Perhaps you can try some of these things and it will be of great success and his body will be much better by the end of the year!!!!!
  18. Faith and anyone else who can help, My son is having some blinking issues now too. It was only with TV although last couple of days a few times without tv. Do I just reduce (which I have done) tv and hope it will resolve, buy LCD tv, or get tested for Pyloria etc? What do you think, could it just pass?
  19. The people that are treating pyloria: Do you use B complex or just B6?
  20. Could someone tell me the company or test that does the most accurate IGG testing? My son is having this done on Thursday, yet I want it to be the most accurate. Thanks!
  21. Carolyn, Is this your main Dr. that you would see? I am trying to find the best DAN/ Environmental/ Intergrative Dr. in the US for tics?
  22. Just wanted to reply that my sons naturopath did use local pond water and trees to do NAET also.
  23. Wow! You are definately to be admired for your efforts! Have you decided to go with the supplements from the DAN dr. suggestions? Is the grandfather of Tourettes an MD that uses natural efforts or traditional? One other question, Does Andrew have high titres? Did you have those tested to determine Pandas vs. Tourettes?
  24. Michelle- one more question. I believe you went to Dr. Murphy also along with the DAN Dr. Did she also run all of these tests and which Dr. did you find more helpful? It sounded to me like Dr. Murphy didn't suggest supplements aside from Omega 3. Correct? or were they both helpful?
  25. Airbucket- My son's pediatrician is very non supplement etc. yet he did the titers testing when I asked. It doesn't hurt to ask!
