  1. It is my understanding that everyone has parasites but with a compromised immune system the population of them can explode and then they become a problem. It seems in something I read that they can get so pervasive as to control what you do/say/react. Sounds like the body snatchers! Lol. PS. Just remembered dr. mentioned parasites can even be in dust.
  2. Best wishes to you too Dut! And to all on this forum!
  3. This may sound odd but bee venom in a tube has worked very well for me on joints. Can only use on closed areas and stings a little when you first apply it. Leave first coat on until you feel stinging then massage into skin. Huge anti-inflammatory! It was $50 for small tube thru dr. office. Really not kidding! . From Apitronic services, Richmond, BC. Have used it for all kinds of injuries ect. too. Skin turns red but goes away after a while. Want to watch for allergic reaction like anything else. Take care.
  4. So sorry to hear about your son's nausea. My ds15 gets this along with a tic when he has a flare. The following are some things we have tried: 1) Rhizinate (Integrative) (chewable natureopathic even avail. in german chocolate!) $11-$16/bottle Can order on-line or they may have at compounding pharmacy in your area. 2) Ketotifen (prescription at compounding pharmacy - insurance pays for most of it) Supposed to heal the stomache/intestine area. This seems to work over time. 3) Nux Vomica (natureopathic little sweet balls that you dissolve under your tongue - avail. at Whole Foods/vitamin stores etc.) My son really liked this for immediate relief. 4) We also use papaya tabs from vit. store. Son is on new meds and may need some of this again! Take care.
  5. The dr. my son sees is Dr. Dahlgren a ND at Sophia Health Institute 425.402.4401. They just moved to Woodinville. Dr. Klinghardt also treats patients there and I think he is taking on new patients starting in January 2013 maybe... Dr. D does muscle testing and starts treatment quickly with follow-up on blood work (which always confirms their diagnosis!).

  6. Dex 3703 will pm you as soon as possible.
  7. So great to hear your news! May the good health continue and you all have a great new year! Thank you for sharing.
  8. Our ND and MD that treat PANDAS are in the Seattle area. We feel very lucky to have them! Cistus tea (rock rose) is a good biofilm buster. Can re-brew it 4 times (BioPure). We are also using Motrin 3xday which seems to be helping with some symptoms right now (post flair 4 mos. ago). TGF-beta 1 gives you an inflammation number. Normal is less than 2000. My son's last test was 4500. Our parasite/worm protocol started with- Biltricide (first 2 days); then ivermection & Pyrantel pamoate (2 weeks); Albenza (2 weeks); then lastly, Alinia (2 weeks); one right after the other.
  9. Have heard from dr. that charcoal is harder to digest. Milk Thistle and chlorella are also good for detox and may not be as hard for digestion. Mixing these with fish oil (pure) is a great combination. Also, just heard from other dr. that 'sea salt' baths are good too (2 cups). Keep healing!
  10. So sorry to hear about your daughter - you will see improvement with treatment. My son also sees an ND (and MD) for lyme/PANDAS etc. and has only been on abx. here and there. The first thing we did was start on a detox protocol of salmon oil and chlorella (PM me if you want co. products). Son is still on it 2+ yrs. later. Also started GF diet to reduce inflammation which is big. These are things you could start now before dr. appt. Also, sore throat makes me think of MaRCONS which are an anti-biotic resistant staph (I believe it is also from the strep family?). This is usually discovered thru a nasal swab (painful!). My son's was discovered after a nasal swab while asleep for T&A (thank goodness). But more recently (year later), with nausea/stomach and ear/sinus pain, and cont. PANDAS symptoms, his MD said that she thinks it is back. So, she ordered BEG nasal spray (prescription) to treat. Just arrived! Just some thoughts. You sound like your on the right path which is half the battle. Wish you the best on treatment. P.S. Milk Thistle may be easier to give a 6 yr. old instead of chlorella and salmon oil can be purchased in liquid form.
  11. Your comment made me think of my son also getting a tick sound that comes from the top of his stomach during a flair (along with major stomach aches). He was recently put on Biaxin for a few weeks and started feeling better. His tics decreased and his nausea decreased. After returning to the dr., she kept him on Biaxin for now and started him on BEG nasal spray for MaRCONS (this is our MD). He also had pain in his sinuses and ear aches that did not go away except with Biaxin. His ears are improving, as well as, tics and nausea, and we have not even got the BEG spray in the mail yet! Just read that a low MSH can cause MaRCONS (www.betterhealthguy.com physicians roundtable 2012). My son was treated about a year ago for these, but they seem to come back after a while, maybe because MSH is not up yet or immune system is still not working well. Best wishes.
  12. Son tried it but it was really hard on his stomache which was still having problems after last flair. We stopped it after about a week. We started him at about 1/3 cup a day and stayed there hoping his stomach would improve. I also tried a teaspoon of it and my stomach did not like it at all either and I am healthy (I hope). I cannot normally do cow's milk at all but I have heard of others that cannot do cow's milk but camel was fine. I also know of another mom whose 3 boys take camels milk and she has noticed the same things as Dedee. Our dr. said to try it. Cannot hurt to try at all! The taste was pretty good. Another poster added vanilla to it initially then stopped and the kids still liked it. Wish the best for you!
  13. Can only share our recent experience with ear and sinus pain along with increased stomache pain. Son was put on Biaxin which helped with symptoms and is now being treated for MaRCONs with BEG spray from Hopkinton Drug. My son also muscle tested for mico. (after 2 neg. test) and has used a nebulizer and iodine for over 2yrs. Now. Good luck with treatment.
  14. Interesting post. Thought of you. http://grayson-youarewhatyoueat.blogspot.com/2012/08/parasites-root-of-all-evil.html
  15. The first time I looked at K12, I thought they only had the private school too. You probably checked it out more thoroughly than I did. Hope you get some answers from Dr. T.
  16. I keep an extra z-pac on hand just in case of flairs. Sooner son gets it the better. Ibuprophen has helped too.
  17. Repairing the immune system (along with keeping bacteria/viruses at bay and organs healthy) is the goal of our ND. Just wish it would not take years!
  18. We go thru www.K12.com. They have a pay program and a free program in our state. Not all states have it but you could check it out. They have part-time and full-time options. Getting school work done has been difficult for my son as well. We have come to an understanding that he will do as much as he can for that day and each day is different. Have tried to break it up but he does not want to do that. So, I try not to place restrictions on when and what he does up to the end-of-school day point. He still has to read LA at night and we go over what he has accomplished every day. With a 504 the teachers have been really understanding when he wants to take tests on the weekends and the majority of his school work can be done at his own pace. He usually does school work 7 days a week because of how he feels. When he has a flair on top of his daily flu-like symptoms it really gets tricky. With him at home, also allows me to work with him in different ways to get him thru his classes (i.e., reading to him; writing down his answers etc.). At this point all I expect/hope for is that he passes his classes (it is high school so the worst that can happen is that he has to take the class over). School is a HUGE stress for him on top of feeling poorly every day for over 2 years. Have asked my dh to be the 'school police' on the weekends to give me a bit of a break. It is his job to get my son going on school and then I can step in as the 'coach.' Still some training to do but it has taken off a huge bit of stress for me at least 2 days a week. When my son has been feeling a bit better, this is much less of a job and he is more motivated to jump in and start without a word from anyone. Hope you find some answers soon to get your son in a better place!

  20. Make sure you check air conditioner if you have one. Have read that dry area do have mold that really gets kicked up when it rains. Weird huh? Wish you the best on everything.
  21. We actually had a 'remediation contractor' do it since my dh has had health issued. Contractor crawled around in a full painting suit and respirator with expanding foam. He did this before insulation was removed. Anywhere wires, fans, lights (have to read up on these because of possible fire hazards with different kinds) etc. go into attic. Afterwards we decided to replace insulation so he removed old stuff and vacuumed. Seems to me would be better to do this first. He had another contractor put in venting pieces and spray in insulation. Was told 30% reduction in utility bill which was right on with this month's.
  22. Thanks for all this information! Just wondering how you knew this combination would mean he can't recover from Lyme using abx alone? I thought certain combinations had trouble detoxing from Lyme, mold or both. I didn't know they meant certain treatments weren't effective. Found it in Dr. S's book "Surviving Mold". Bought the book from his website. There is a lot of useful information in it but also some legal cases that I skipped over. Just wish there was an index as it is difficult to get back to sections where I found useful information. Have heard that his prior book was easier to read but not sure if it has all the new info. in it that this one has.
