Hi. My son does not swallow pills and the TTDF capsules we have are to strong of a negative taste to concel in a shake. I saw a TTDF cream with vitamin B12 as well advertised under Authia Cream by Ecological Formulas-Cardiovascular Research. The name of the cream is called WestLake. The price is only 37.50 for a 2 oz tube so I am interested if anyone knows anything positive or negative about this product.

I am a DAN believer based upon all of the research that they have done but I have noticed that most of the leading DAN doctors confer and work with Pfeiffer inregards to sharing of information and development of new procedures. It seems to me that both are at the forefront with the issues that our kids and some of the adult posters deal with. As for the costs it is expensive but I am finding that my fellow posters sharing of information may have just saved me around a thousand dollars over the cost of a year by ordering from a lab directly vs a compounding pharamacy with a glutathione cream.

I was thinking that enzymes might be a part of the solution with helping to repair the gut. I have read that yeast has feelers that damage the lining and causes small holes and therefore the leaky gut/delayed food allegies. So of course I will look up this website and would encourage others to do the same. I had noticed that Kirkman labs has a large section on enzymes to help with digesting food.

Jean I have looked up the cream on the Kirkman website and it is almost one hundred dollars less then we are paying now. I will have a talk with my doctor on this for I can not see the difference in whats in it.

eye blinking is one of my son's most frequent tics however we consider it one of his most mildest. He is in the kindergarten level and is reading on a second grade level and functions on a middle grade level with the sciences. His brain is a sponge. I tell you this for you, as you should be, are concerned with your child's future. When my son is unable to read for at times his tics cause not to be able to keep his head or body straight we just play alot of books on tape for him to listen to. This helps build up his background knowledge as well as listening comprehension and realizing that stories have a beginning, middle and an end. As for food sensitivities, that can be caused by mercury posioning as well as to much antibiotics damaging the gut. We follow the path that restrictive diet helps but the gut needs to be repaired. This can be done with detox or with killing off excessive yeast build up or in some cases both are needed. No one can say what is needed without tests. There are urine and stool tests for yeast, etc and there are detox tests for heavy metals. We have done both ourselves. It is not cheap but then again we just find other things we can do without to cover the costs. I would recommend that everyone takes their kid to a DAN type doctor and have some real medicine applied to their child for life long results. As for the posters who shared their experiences with us. It was very touching and I wish all of you only the best.

I am going to make my son's third detox appointment this Monday for the month of April. I am concern for what I read this is suppose to be when the heavy metals really start coming out and of course my son is still in school so we are concerned about the short term effect there. Lucky I made sure I work where he attends so I could keep an eye out for him. As many of you know we are doing the DMPS IV with Glutathione and NAC. It is once a month and I was thinking about doing it only from 4 to 6 times on a regular basis and then maybe once or twice more to check the metal, etc levels. This is not the only treatment plan that we are on. We are still on the restrictive diet, the ton load of vitamin, mineral and amino acid, fish oil supplements as well as a gluthathione/NAC cream that is applied twice a day. My son was also suppose to take TTFD in capsule form but it taste horrible and can not be concealed in a shake and my son who is 6 will not swallow pills and we leave that at that. I did however saw that for a good price, the compounding pharmacies are expensive, that a TTFD cream can be ordered off the internet from a respectable firm called Ecological Formulas. I will inquire the doctor's office about that. My doctor also wants my son to take DMSA but one my son will not swallow pills, two my son' gut may not be able to handle the pills, and three so far we have been told that DMSA is cream form stinks big time. However, I did see a firm advertise that they have developed a DMSA cream that they claim does not smell. The firm states that they will present it at the next DAN conference so I will also ask my DAN doctor if he has any heads up on this as well. I discussed this with my wife and we both feel that that the IV's are the short term treatment and that the creams will be the long term treatment with the Glutathione most likely being the mainstream for the long run. If anyone can not find a DAN doctor where they live, e-mail me and perhaps I could e-mail them back a recommended one in their area.

My heart goes out to you Mary. I would also suggest that you go to the experts in treating this matter that your child has. Pfeiffer is well known and respected with everything that is written about treating conditions that our children are burden with. I myself go to a DAN doctor. Restrictive Diet, mineral/vitamin/amino acid supplements. yeast issues to contend with, Detox and perhaps enzymes are the major treatment steps to regaining our children's health. Our children were poisoned and it is now up to us to find the "appropriate medical treatments to undue the poison and then to repair our children's body. By poison I refer to the heavy metals that all of us who are detoxing our children are seeing listed in the lab reports.

My DAN doctor's office uses Kirkman vitamins, etc. I am very careful where I order from to insure that what I get is what I expect and everything that is supposed to be in there is. So we order from Kirkman ourselfs. I would recommend to anyone to look at there website as well.

I never gave it much thought but now it seems to me that since we started giving our oldest nightly epsom salt baths that he is not sweating like he used to at night.

Glad I made you smile. My youngest is 5 months going on 6 and my wife is his happy meal for the most part. Our neurologist told us that it was ok to give it to my second son when he was three. I don't know when is the right age, but I really don't see how it could be a bad thing as long as the child wants to take it. I think in the old days cod liver oil was given to young kids on a regular basis. My second son who is a trip but other then that has not shown anything else loves the stuff. We use the Nordic liquid with the fruit flavor. I am a great believer in the stuff for brain health overall for after all it is not like it is safe to eat fish anymore,.Rivers and lakes are polluted as well as the oceans, so where else are we going to get our brain food from?

Sorry for the delay in response to my posting. I have been responding to personal e-mails but I realize that there may be lurkers who are not ready to make a step yet but are interested in the information so here I go. 1. It turns out that when I got the hard copy of the urine toxic metal testing report from Doctor's Data Lab that my son did have mercury as well as arsenic, lead, nickel, tin and thallium. For the first provocation I am surprised that any mercury came out for based upon research it usually comes out after the body kicks out the lead, etc. 2. My son has had a second DMPS IV with glutathione and did not show any ill effects of the IV during the process but has had a week of low grade tics since then. He also has had a cold which means tics come anyway with the sniffle one first so it is hard to say if the IV was the factor or the cold for the tics. 3. We also got our results back in hard copy from SpectraCell Labs for the FIA Comprehensive Profile 5000 and after a year of intensive supplements and I mean intensive, there was little difference from his SpectraCell deficiency results from a year ago. I am thinking that this goes with the theory that in some cases the heavy metals have to come out before the supplements can be digested anyway. My son is thought to have leaky gut and does have a host of delayed food allergies and is on a special restricted diet for over 2 years now. 4. I am planning on taking my son for a third IV detox but am concern for according to research this is when the mercury really starts to come out and his tics can get extreme for a while before becoming stable again due to the process of detox. 5. I really think that this is needed for after 4 years of going to different doctors and trying different stuff we have seen gains but the tics do come back and have come back stronger. We feel that we have to dump the poison out of his body and then give his body a chance to heal itself. I also think that a life long detox supplement program will be needed for him, glutathione cream-TTFD cream perhaps to help his damaged body keep the poisons of our world from building up in him again. 6. I am sharing information, more personal in the e-mails, for I think it is the right thing to do but the amazing thing is that I am also being repaid in kind with also being given wonderful information. I do not think that anyone knows everything in regards to this issue but with all of us helping each other it is like a think tank/fact conference which is a godsend.
-
We live by the stuff in our house. We give it to our older two kids for their brain development, the third is still to young, and my wife and I use it so we will not lose our brains. Does it help with the tics, I think it is just a small step to finding the solution but a good step. Just make sure that if you buy a brand that you buy one that is mercury free. We use Nordic Naturals but I am sure if you make a posting others will give you other alternatives to choose from.
-
Thanks Jean. My son had a rough three months but he is stable now. I am sure with the steps that you decide to take your child will get back on track to good health.

Karen, I myself find the whole thing overwhelming and emotionally taxing. The road we are on is a long one but once you start with appropriate plans of treatments you will see various improvements. This site was a godsend to me a couple of years ago. It was actually the first time that I saw that I was not the only one who thought something could be done. If you have not already done so, I would recommend that you check your health insurance policy and go looking and for a doctor, then research him or her, who specializes in treating kids who have the conditions that our kids have. Like I said before and I will say again, I had a mainstream doctor who looked at my kid for five minutes and wanted to prescribe heavy medication and now I have an alternative doctor who plans a course of action based upon blood test, urine tests and stool tests for minerals, amino acids, vitamins, yeast, delayed allergies or food sensitivities, and of course heavy metals.

did do.

Hi Chemar. I was the first one to post my vote and it should read that my son was given the TS label at age 4 after showing signs from age 2 which occurred after a vaccination shot. My son also then showed other signs of other conditions but we don't know if our own responses to that prevented anything worse from occuring or what?
-
Hi Karen. We are treating our son's condition with limited screens,1/2 hr a week, vitamin/mineral/amino acid supplements, special restricted diet and currently started detoxing for metals which includes IV's, lotions and the nightly epsom salt baths. We are also testing his intestinal track for yeast and other nasty stuff and I am researching into food enzymes as supplements as a possible plan for the future. There is no one magic bullet and it is a long path to take but if you read all of the posts carefully you can find short cuts and save alot of money from other people's experiences.

Hi, my son just had his second DMPS IV detox session. I was wondering if anyone else out there is doing this as well, how many sessions did they use before moving on and what was the success.

ACETYL L- CARNITINE is my doctor's prescribed carnitine. However, I agree that one should watch carefully on how they or their child reacts for example what is best for 9 out of 10 will not be the substance to use for that 1 out of 10 person.

Hi Kim. I'm at work now on a break so I don't have all the data from my last doctor's visit this past Friday. However, I will tell you that I felt that I wasted alot of time and money with the mainstream doctors. Of course this is just my feelings but lets face it what person is going to say yes I might have posioned hundreds if not thousands of kids for I let big business dictate to me on how to be a doctor. Plus why would they want to open themselves up to individual law suits. Anyway, I found the Dan doctors to be at the forefront of this issue and even if our kids are not as seriously affected by the heavy metals as the kids with the autistic label they may both have been posioned by the same substances from the same sources so the Dan doctors measures may be the best to use. If you could find a recommended Dan doctor in your area then I would recommend seeing that doctor for your kids treatments if treatments are needed. As you read thru the postings on this site, I think you will find that more and more parents are opting for various type of detoxing after having alternative doctor led testing on metals, vitamins, amino acids, minerals and food allergies. Which is as medical as you can get if you think about it. I had one mainstream doctor who just looked at my kid and wanted to prescribe him heavy medication that was not designed for his condition and now I have an alternative doctor who tests my son's body cheminstry before taking a plan of action that is also based upon research. Now which doctor is practicing real medicine?

Jean, I think you are right that you are on the same path as Claire in that you are doing a detoxing program by using the supplements of - - Vitamin C - Vitamin E - Selenium - Vitamin B1 - Biotin - Glutamine - Cysteine - Glutathione lotion (external use) I have read alot of wonderful things about Glutathione. Your method of detox may just be the safest of all of the effective detoxing out there that I have read about.

"With my son's chronic constipation, my gut feeling told me that my son might have some vitamin or nutrition deficiencies". My son had severe constipation for a couple of years to a point where we had to use various adverse measures to get it out. It all ended when we found out about his delayed food allegies and placed him on a restricted diet. Gluten being the most serious of all might have also been the biggest culput. Now he is regular and his behavior is that of a sweetheart where before he was unpredictable and would fixate.

As was noted it is very important to have a time difference between any new vitamin, food, etc that is being introduced to our kids and a careful objective observation needs to be made as well after every introduction. With that said I feel I should add that after a year of vitamins, minerals and amino acid supplements we have found that there was little difference with what was lacking. This was disappointing but then it just reinforced why we went to drastic detox measures. There are some researchers who feel that until one gets out the heavy metals, no real gains will be made with the body's chemistry.

Did eliminating certain foods reduce tics?
Andy replied to Claire's topic in Tourette Syndrome and Tics
Claire I am so happy to have read about your son's improvement for intaking of foods. Not only am I happy for you but it also gives me hope that the same could happen to my son. Funny that you mentioned that you felt the detoxing of the mercury helped for when I inquired about another annual food allergy test for my child the doctor said that the detoxing will take care of that in time. -
There is a ton of information in these postings that I will have to give a longer read in order to fully absorb. I think I should add that my son so far is under the DMPS IV treatments with glutathione. This treatment by-passes the stomach for the most part so yeast is not an issue with it. It is more controversial then the DMSA treatment. Glutathione lotion and a host of other things are also included with our plan of detox. When I get home I will make a complete posting of the full treatment. Sorry I did not get to post over the weekend but my wife started to work the weekends to help pay for all of our medical bills and I was to tired to post afterwards. "On the other hand, I don't feel the need for chelation because Pfeiffer and our DAN doctor both say our current approach (zinc, selenium, Vitamin C, and glutathione lotion) all will pull out metals", Claire. I find this very interesting Claire for it is also part of our detox program and it is the part that I am most comfortable about.
