  1. Hi Fiore, I had read some positive things about accupunture and massages as a reducer but not as an inhibitor. I wish you the best of luck and to hang in there. Right now we are in a frustrated state for after a preschool year of low frequency of tics to no tics, our son is in a constant state of many frequent tics. However, we did help our son keep the tics in check where he had what his friends called food allegies and his only handicap was a different diet. So we are hopeful to get back to that with more tests, different treatments and looking into baking our own bread, making our own fruit/veggie drinks etc. You might want to look into that as well where we are the ones who control what is actually going into our children's bodies. May I also suggest to keep a journal of what foods, what activities etc to try to find and remove triggers to the tics. This is the third hard summer for my son. Could it be clorine, sunscreen lotion, a mold that is in the air, etc. These are the questions that as parents we must ask and look into. We are not in a easy boat but with time and helping each other, our boat will get out of the rough water and sail in calm seas. I hope I don't seem like I am preaching for I consider myself more as the student who is learning new things everyday myself. So please share any infomation that you may have yourself.
  2. It is one of my son's low frequency and what I consider low grade tics. When he is showing this tic, he still fits in well socially where ever he may be or what ever he is doing and the only problem which is not a problem would be taking pictures. I am actually happy when this is all that I see.
  3. In response to Lisa and anyone else who is dealing with similar issues and looking for answers as well, my son tested on the Food Antibody Assessment IgG test to have "food type allegies" to any form of dairy product from cows to goats, cane sugar, mushrooms, corn, corn gluten, gluten, rice, soy, wheat and the mold aspergullus. Bascially. he tics and he has been suffering from this condition since two years of age. He has been diagnoised to have T.S even if there is no family history and his age is quite young for it. I know he has the conditions but he was not born with the issue. When we first placed him on a gluten free diet a year ago when he was 4 the tics went away totally. Since then more things came up that he is supposed to stay away from and he had a low rate of tics that was socially passable. However, for the past month his tics have been at a high rate of frequency and are some of the worse we have ever seen. Our current doctor has not given much detail on supplements but maybe after the spectrum test, we will have a better picture. Most of the information I have, I got off the internet which is why I left every doctor's office before, three of them, when they started to talk about medication. If there was a pill designed for my son's condition, I would feel differently but since the medical field thinks its ok to use the h bomb of medications in an attempt to kill the tic and the person be dammed, I would rather spend our savings to find a natural way to suppress it and hopefully find what is causing it and treat that. I am not an expert in this matter. All I know is there is alot to learn about the brain chemistry and the stomach. Also, I would like to give Ronna a big thank you for sharing her information. Thanks Ronna.
  4. Hi Claire, it was I who forgot to log in and responded to this thead as guest. I was wondering about the hemp products. Being in a house hold that doesn't have anything but an unopened bottle of wine, I have concerns about hemp other then as a use as rope or clothing. Will this product ever show up in the blood stream as the drug or have any drug like effects? I hate to sound stupid on this hemp issue but...
  5. My beautiful five year old son is suffering for over a month now with the whole range of ticks. He did not tested for PANDAS a year ago but we were told that it does not always show. So after a year of trying the elimination diet and supplements we are considering doing the anti-biotics treatments. Has anyone had any success with this treatment even if there was no sign of any lingering infections, internal fungus etc?
  6. Thanks guest teach for your information, The first doctor we saw when my son was two said that he will out grow his condition. The next two "specialist" suggested medication treatment when he was four years of age. I am glad that you shared your information and my heart goes out to you. Just know that you helped me with staying on the track of treatment that we are on for our son. I would also like to thank Jeff for the heads up on fish oil, I will have to montior that and chart if there is a negative correlation. I never knew about the strawberry and grape thing. My son has had a hard time of it for the last month, now I will see it any of the three, which have been in his diet as of late, may have been the cause.
  7. Hi, I'm not sure who I am talking to but my 5 year old son has mainly the same tics as was discribed above. I was wondering if the dosage of vitamins was recommended by a doctor and if not why was this dosage chosen. If it has any success, of course it would be of great interest to me.
  8. Hi everybody. Our current doctor uses Great Smokies Diagnostic Lab for our son's food antibody assessment IGE & IgG. The tests cost over 500 dollars as well as an additional fee of 125 for the entering the doctor's office. I hope we are not getting ripped off for we have tested and are testing for everything looking for a solution or plan of treatment. But that is the name of the lab and that is our cost.
  9. By the way Phyl, thank you for responding.
  10. Hi Leonor, My five year old boy was diagnoised at 4 years of age but we suspected something was wrong at two years of age. Diet and the vitamin B family with fish oil seems to help. The key is to treat the cause and not cover up the symptom. We are trying to find it and hope you the best.
  11. Hi, my name is Andy and my son was diagnoised with TS at 4 years of age. My wife and I had noticed tic behavior when he was 2 years of age. The first tics were blinking eyes and bushing his hand across his eye even if no hair was present. Today he is 5 years of age and he exhibits blinking, throat noises, hand waving, stifffing of arms, and sometimes staring out into space. Nightmares are common as well. There is no family history of TS and I wonder if this may have been caused by vaccination shots or perhaps a linging infection. We had him tested and he is allergic to gluten, rice, corn, soy, sugar, milk and a few other things. Does anyone out there have a son or daughter in the same boat and what do you do?
