Hello, Anthony is ticcing a little more this week--he was on Augmentin but was switched to Zithromaz and has been on that for the last 40 days. I am not sure why the flare up,so frustrating. Do we switch back, keep things the same--ughhhhh wish this was easier. Deanna

Hello, trying to figure out right time to give Zithromax I have been giving it in the evening because I figured I would have a better chance of giving the dose at the same time however on nights when we are at the ball field the dose may be off by as much as 1hour if not a little more. could this cause a problem with coverage of the antibiotic? thanks. Hi, I was able to get Zithromax for Anthony for 30 days (250mg dose) insurance won't cover because it is not a standard dose if I get a script reading 500mg once a day they will cover so frustrating!! my question can it be split in half?? why is everything so hard?? Deanna

Hi, After much hesitation I have switched Anthony form Augmentin 500mg twice a day to Zithromax 250 mg once a day. He was dong much still had some isolated tics and his numbers were still increasing so Dr. Latimer thought we could try this to see if we got better results. I started the Zithromax on Saturday and I have noticed some increase in tics. Do you think its just because we are starting a new med or should I have left well enough alone??? I hate this its like you question everything there are so many variables as well like allergies ughhhhh!!! any insight would be appreciated. Deanna

Hello, is there a chance that the antihistamimes could make the tics worse? thought I read that some where maybe not! just want to make sure. Is Zyrtec or Claritin usually given in the morning or night? Deanna

Hi, some increase in tics but much much better--I guess Dr. Latimer was thinking we could try Zithromax ANthonys level continue to go up despite being on Augmentin twice a day I guess just to see if we get better results--I am just afraid of change thats all I don't want to go back to where we came from and we are alot better on the AUgmentin--just confused. We are having a flair up here as well my son is on 50 mg Topamax and Augmentin I wonder if some of this could be related to allergies. Hang in there its so frustrating praying for better days. Deanna

Well I was able to get Zithromax for 1 month should I do for a month and then go right back to the Augmentin--waiting for insurance to preauthorize for anything after a month. thanks Deanna

Hello My Canadian friend, so glad your son is doing so well, Anthony is doing much better since we talked over a year and half ago--We did see Dr. Singer but have Dr. Latimer as ANthony's doctor -they were two completely doctors just like I thought but it was good to see both, I do appreciate you talking to me when things were so bad. Hi Colleen, he weighs 70 pounds. the zithromax is 250 mg the augmentin is 500mg twice a day are you saying give a dose of zithromax and 1 dose of the augmentin?? why should I do that ??
