Hi, I am fairly new to this site as well but through my own research and numerous questions answered by these caring people I have learned the following the l-glutamine is a form of MSG and in some children it can worsen tics also the taurine can worsen tics in some children as well/ magnesium,calcium,zinc-b vitamins also important, however I stopped the super b complex my son was getting he still has b vitamins in his multi vitamin--my son was also allergy tested 2 weeks ago and has a bunch of allergies as well I am in the process of tweaking his diet--alot of this is trial and error--we will be testing for PANDAS this week as soon as I get the lab requestions. I feel how upset you are because I feel that way alot as well. I talk to my 9 year old about his tics and I think it does help to talk about it--he is 9 and his started about a year and half ago. Hi, my son is 9 and a half and started with eye rolling and some facial tics about a year and half ago--he then replaced them with vocal tics I not knowing any better started corrected him not even thinking tics/tourettes--then they were replaced with him thrusting his head forward--I am registered nurse so a light bulb went off in my head and I thought tourettes the neurologist confirmed this however her solution was to medicate--I initially followed that route, but that was before I started educating myself--I am weaning the clonidine , modifying his diet and incorporating vitamins--the tics have been worse over the last couple weeks he seemed to be doing so well on the vitamins--i am now tweaking his vitamins--any suggestions would be appreciated--god bless. Hello everyone, sorry if I seem to have so many questions but I rely on all your insight and experience. When I first took my son to the neurologist a year and half ago I mentioned PANDAS and she dismissed it by saying there was not enough conclusive data to support this theory in tics. Is this something I shoud push to have my son tested for or not?? Thanks again, Deanna

Hi Melanie, sorry you are having so many problems-- I am dealing with motor tics as well--I am new to the site but have gotten so very good advice from people. I will keep you and your son in my prayers and hope things get better for you soon. Deanna

hi, I have an acupuncturist that I have used for other issues with great success-- I am thinking about taking my some to her---he has seen my chirporacter for gentle manipulation for his neck--this it also the doctor who is given me recommendations in regards to his vitamins. Deanna

thanks again for the quick response --he seemed to be doing so well on the vitamins until the last week and a half I will go to the vitamin shop in the am and get just b6 and b12---and see how it goes. I will keep you posted. Deanna

Vitamin c--50mg vitamin d-400 IU calcium(from calcium citrate/gluconate/carbonate/lactate/ascorbate/and Microcrystalline Hydroxyapatite---750 mg Magnesium(from magnesium chelate)--375 mg boron--3mg glutamic acid--(from 75mg Glutamic acid hcl)--60mg L-Lysine(from 36 mg L-Lysine Hcl)---29mg He gets one of these twice a day.
