Hi Vickie, This is not his first time but noone has given us a definitive diagnosis of PANDAS his tics were bad in March along with some other things had him cultured and he was positive he has been doing pretty good until about 2 weeks ago--he has a cough though both cultures neg for strept, he has wetted the bed for the last 2 nights and waking during the night. his pediatrician did give me 250mg penvk for 30 days we see Dr. Latimer on the 5th of August--I have an order to increase his topamax but decided not to to see if antibiotics work. Do you think I am doing the right thing in regards to topamax.??? Deanna

  4. Hello, I have a question is there a window of opportunity that if you suspect PANDAS it should be treated I guess what i an trying to say is if you suspect PANDAS and are jsut getting treated a year later is the prognosis as good as if you had treated right at onset?? Deanna

Hi, we are on Topamax but ny sons tics have been really bad over the last couple weeks--I really do beleive he exhibits all symptoms of PANDAS he has a respirtory thing going on now but was negative for strept I am tring to get a hold of his pediatrician now to get some antibiotics on board until we see Dr. Latimer--He has a pretty clean diet with an occasional slip. I will keep you posted on our appointment. Deanna

  9. Hello, just wanted to ask for those using Topamax what doseage are you using and the age and weight of your child. The 25mg we have our son on does not seem to be doing the trick i have noticed no side effects so feel ok increasing the dose any feedback would be appreciated. thanks so much , I feel really blessed to have a forum with so many people trying to help each other. god bless, Deanna

  11. I personally think that if a parent has it there is a greater predispostion to acquire that. I have an anxiety component with some OCD myself which I see in our son. Nothing major but there for sure. Deanna
  12. Hi, I was wondering the same thing--is the device like a retainer? The viedoes showing the fitting process it looks so bulky. I was wondering the same thing in does it resemble a retainer. Deanna

Hey Wendy, gald you have some peace hope it lasts---don't know what is going on with Anthony he is ticing like crazy I was just telling my husband i don't have a clue what it could be--I can't wait unitl my appointment with Dr. Latimer. He has come off his diet a little but he has come off before and never had tics like this-- i hate this not knowing. I have seen other people claim motrin works i was just wondering how. His rapid strept was neg--other culture not back yet. keep us posted. Deanna

Hey Wendy, read your post and got your message sorry things are not going well we are having a tough time as well. not sure what is triggering Anthony but feel your frustration --we see Dr. Latimer on the 5th--saw Dr. Singer at Hopkins last week gave me no more insight than I already have and is completely old school with his thinking. anyway hope things start to settle down. talk to you soon.   20. hello, it appears that Dr. Latimers husband who was a pediatric gastoenterologist died after he fell and hit his head on an electrical outlet at the marina where he kept his boat. How sad and so tragic. keep her and there children in your prayers. Deanna

Hello, just wanted to let everyone know that my son was due to see Dr. Latimer this Friday-however I received a phone call today postponing his appointment because of the sudden death of her husband. I don't know the circumstances surrounding his death but the receptionist was really shook up. I know a few of you have met with her and I thought you would want to know. Deanna
