What dose is he on? I recently went down from .05mg (1/2 a pill) to .025mg (1/4 pill) per day because I was having libido issues on .05mg a day. That's weird, because .05mg is a super low dose to begin with, but going down to 1/4 pill has cleared up my libido issues.

Has anyone heard about a DHEA/tic connection?
guy123 replied to guy123's topic in Tourette Syndrome and Tics
i meant the author of the website, not the author of the referenced article about DHEA. I didnt see a name but i'll look again later (i'm browsing from my phone right now). Thanks for the link. -
something about a possible link. It mentioned cortisol and DHEA, the fact that women produce more DHEA than men, and that men are more likely to have TS/tics. It was near the bottom of this page: http://au.geocities.com/jones_kacm/chem.htm Also, that site has some good info. I typed up a long email to the author but it bounced. I tried a few other variations of his email address and they all bounced. If anyone knows the owner of this site, please FWD his contact info to me. Thanks.

Helping son's tics/anxiety get back under control
guy123 replied to CarolynN's topic in Tourette Syndrome and Tics
Glad you found something that works. Did you say you got the chicken nuggets from Dairy Queen? They use MSG? I thought only Chinese places used MSG -
Are your movements/shouts in response to a physical discomfort that you have to move in order to relieve, or in response to an inner sensation of unrest, or are they completely involuntary and without warning?

Guanfacine is Tenex, for anyone reading. birdman, did guanfacine make you sleepy? I'm on clonidine (catapres) which is the same class of medication, but it makes me sleepy. Also, did you notice any change in libido while on guanfacine? Thanks.

SOrry apparently the "Subject" field holds more characters than what it displays. Should read: Hypothetically speaking, which of the following ingredients could cause a negative reaction If applied topically... -sodium laurath sulfate -cocomidopropyl betaine -disodium lauroamphoacetate -propylene glycol -lauryl methyl gluceth-10 hydroxypropyldimonium chloride -PEG-123 methyl glucose dioleate -tetrasodium EDTA -polyethylene -glycol distearate -laureth-4 -polysorbate 20 -sodium carbomer -methylchloroisothiazolinone -methylisothiazolinone -lactic acid thanks

Question for parents concerned about vaccines
guy123 replied to a topic in Tourette Syndrome and Tics
can you just get mercury-free versions of the vaccinations? Isn't mercury supposed to be the offending component in the vaccinations? -
Is that the place where they had some guy draw or write something while wearing red-lensed glasses and winking or something and it was supposed to stop his tics? I'd be interested in hearing a rational of how that is supposed to work. Sounds like some crazy voodoo "science" to me. Disclaimer: I could be thinking of some other place.

What is your reason for giving him a creatine supplement? -
There are no muscles on top of the head therefore no spasm is possible. Maybe she felt something under the skin. Was it a fluid sensation, like rushing water or something? Or maybe the nerve endings on top of her head freaked out for a minute, like she got goosebumps or something.

Immunologist. I have a list of the tests but it's not with me. Basically immune system tests and a few others like lipid profiles. He said there's a chance my body is allergic to something and is attacking itself instead of the allergen.

I just had 8 vials of blood drawn Well, he ordered 11, but then I asked if he could also add Anti-DNase-B and anti-streptococcal titers to the list. He looked at me like I was kind of crazy but agreed to. I said "based on some studies I've read... ...strep... ...adult onset tic disorders..." He goes "well when people do their own research online they're wrong over 50% of the time, but I'll add them to the list if you want." I said "thanks, I appreciate it." It can't hurt to rule something else out, right? Now I get to wait for the results.

Still no major tics, but not sure what this is?
guy123 replied to lmcgill's topic in Tourette Syndrome and Tics
i've donet he lining up thing before. usually when i look out a window. i get the window panes lined up with something. lol. i do it occasionally, and like once or twice a day if i do it at all. i also sometimes look up and check the corners of my living room when im watching tv. its not a tic. its OCD. im making sure there are no bugs hiding in the corners. I do the same thing except i check all the corners in my bedroom before i go to bed. it started when i lived in a apartment that had a lot of silverfish living in it. i wanted to make sure they werent on my walls/ceilings when i went to bed, and bugs usually hide in corners because strategically thats they have the best vantage point there (predators cant sneak up behind them). but if i do do that, its like once an hour. i dont think i've done that one in months, tho. i just wanted to comment since i read your post and thought "omg, i do both of those!" posted from my phone. sorry for typos and lack of capitalization. -
Careful not to poison yourself. Vitamin D is fat soluble which means that if you take too much your body will store it in your fat cells. Compare that to vitamin C and the B vitamins which are water soluble and if you take too much you just pee them out (hence the bright yellow pee you get when you take a large dose of B vitamins).

A steroid burst in the case of a pandas child is used as a diagnostic tool to see whether or not IVIg would possibly work for that child. I guess what I'm asking is, if I go to the doctor and ask for a "Steroid burst," will he say "oh, ok, right this way" or will he say "I don't know what that means."

I was talking about an adult with PANDAS symptoms.

does anyone know if damage to the basil ganglia is reversible? -
Quick question, is "Steroid burst" a specific treatment or is it slang for something else? Thanks.
