  1. Is there a certain time to take herbs? Our LLMD said 30 minutes away from food but I didn't ask if they can be taken at same time as probiotics and other supplements. It's not too realistic to take them 30 minutes away from food, what with school, etc. So I'm wondering if that makes a big difference in the effectiveness of the herbs.
  2. I've never been crazy about long term antibiotics and when the ART testing showed that the antibiotics were doing as equal a job that the herbs could do, we decided to switch over. Time will tell if this was the right decision but I'm keeping the faith
  3. We are going to be changing over from antibiotics to a homeopathic protocol using herbs. Does anyone have any experience with A-Bart and/or BioPure Neem Synergy? We did ART muscle testing which showed these particular herbs to be helpful to my son's Lyme and Bartonella.
  4. I've only heard of muscle testing helping with that. Sounds interesting to have a blood test do it. Hopefully someone will respond.
  5. Definitely take after food and I had to make sure I didn't lay down for at least 1/2 hour after taking or I would get heartburn!
  6. I am looking for an LLMD for my sister who lives in MO. Her son was bitten by a tick two years ago and over the past year has started to show lots of "symptoms" that could be Lyme related. Her older daughter reminded her of the tick bite the other day when my sister was at her wit's end trying to figure out what is going on with him. The pediatrician is running the standard ELISA & Western Blot (as well as strep titers, just in case) but we are preparing for the next step which might include an LLMD. If you know of one in the St Louis area, can you please PM me? Thanks.
  7. Has anyone heard of the herb FC-Cidal? It is used for yeast and can also help with Lyme.
  8. I have a question on a similar topic. If a person has an Igenex WB with bands showing (IGG 30,34,39,41 and IGM 39,41), could this be because a person had Lyme before (bullseye rash and was treated with 10 days of doxy) or could it be because the Lyme never went away? My LLMD thought that theoretically IGG goes away over time but not necessarily so no way to know if it's old cured Lyme or never properly treated Lyme. Obviously you go back to it being a clinical diagnosis so the bands shouldn't matter but it just got me thinking.
  9. We have done the Feingold diet for the past three years. We are not as rigid as we were but we are still following the basic principles and then some! My kids read labels and know the foods to stay away from (artificial colors and flavors, hydrogenated oils and preservatives to name a few). We tend to eat alot of organic but the diet can be done on a budget as the packaged foods are what is so expensive. We get all of our prescriptions through a compounding pharmacy.
  10. I saw this link on another Lyme board. Thought it was interesting. My link
  11. My husband takes this drug for another reason but I know it's something he has to take a couple of hours away from any vitamins or antibiotics because it does bind everything. It's primary function is to bind the bile from the blood and help remove it from the body. I have read that it's being used more and more for detox which I can see why. If you're nervous about using it, can your LLMD suggest a more natural way of detox? Our LLMD suggested chlorella but I haven't read up on it. I hope he feels better soon.
  12. Just curious, would a negative result confirm that an autoimmune disease is not present? Or is it like Lyme, where the test result means nothing?
  13. We use kirkman's labs for most of our vitamins. They seem to read clean. We have used their multi in the past.
  14. Is this in addtion to the supplements you listed? If so, the only problem we have is that a multi can't give us enough of the supplement that we need so my ds would have to take a lot of multi vitamin pills so it's "easier" for him to take the separate pills.
  15. I bought this book sometime ago although I hadn't really read through it until I saw your post! It talks about the physical and emotional aspects of the disease. The emotional part speak about how to handle school, friends and the range of emotions one might feel (sadness, anger, frustration). The physical part speaks about how you get Lyme, the treatment, tests, and it breaks down the three stages of Lyme. I haven't shown it to my son who is 11 because he doesn't like to bring attention to his illness but it's a good book to have handy, just in case. .
  16. I'm sure other more strep savvy moms will chime in but could that just mean she was exposed but not necessarily got strep? Not sure if that makes sense. We are more Lyme than pandas so now my research is more Lyme based.
  17. Wish I could help but we are still new on this path but did want to say that our LLMD said that your carbon dioxide numbers fluctuate all the time so he doesn't read much into a high or low number. I believe it is included in the metabolic panel that we get to check liver function but like I said, not something he would request otherwise. Did I read somewhere that potassium is usually low with Lyme? It's so hard to keep everything straight in my mind! When was the last time you had these labs done?
  18. When my son first started his Lyme treatment, after 5 days, he developed a fever and complained that his whole body ached. He actually told me he couldn't go to a friend s birthday party because he felt so bad - totally unlike him. I wasn't sure if it was a herx or the start of a flu. He crawled into bed and just was totally not himself for the whole weekend. The fever and body aches lasted through the weekend and by Monday, he was back to school and feeling like himself. Really weird. I didn't give any Motrin but had him drink fluids and lay low. We never did find out what it was but LLMD says it very well could have been a herx. I hope she feels better soon.
  19. I had this conversation with our LLMD and until recently he agreed that oral was the most direct way. However he has come across Glutathione in a capsule by Essental Pro, which are formulated in a way so that they are absorbed better. I know there is a more scientific way to describe their reason for effectiveness but my brain is tired and I cannot remember right now.We have seen positive things since starting the capsules and when we ran out this weekend, we saw regression so I'm pretty sure it's the Glutathione that is helping.
  20. Thanks for posting this. We spend our vacation every summer on the Cape. The article mentions how the number of Lyme cases has increased there. Yikes!
  21. Our LLMD did say that Glutathione can be given with antibiotics. I'll be curious to see if that's the general consensus.
  22. I don't believe flu vaccines come under the umbrella of mandated school vaccines, at least not in CT.
  23. that's what I was afraid of!
  24. That's a good idea I will check out YouTube. Our LLMD does ART Muscle Testing so I was curious to learn more about it.
  25. The activated charcoal we space at least three hours away from supplements and antibiotics - just to be sure and I give glutathione with supplements and antibiotics in the AM and then give the glutathione again before bed along with probiotics.
