  1. The majority of them have to be done through Labcorp. If you go on Dr. S' site, there is a section under the diagnostic tests which lists which tests and which lab.
  2. Do you pay for the test when you order the kit or when you send it back?
  3. Great news! It might not be possible since it's such short notice, but I find taking someone with me so that I have another set of ears can be helpful too, especially on a first appt. Other than that, I agree with everyone else's suggestions. Bring all of your labwork and a chronological history of illnesses, symptoms, appts, vaccines, etc. Good luck!
  4. How long did it take to get the ERMI results back? Which company did you go through? I have a couple of different names, not sure which one to go with and if that even makes a difference. I heard that only a few companies are authorized to offer the ERMI testing.
  5. Our LLMD mentioned having the results from the eye test sent to his office. Apparently you can provide a dr's email address when you take the test.
  6. Good point. Our LLMD mentioned it to me at my appt but I didn't think to ask if he was referring to just me or both of us. I'll have to ask although I was going to "experiment" first with myself anyway! Thanks.
  7. My son and I had the mold blood tests done this past week at the suggestion of our LLMD. We are doing the test for our house next week. Did you do the eye test on Dr. S' website?
  8. My son plays baseball and basketball. His main symptom is brain fog so that has made it a struggle for him to remember the plays but thankfully my husband is one of the baseball coaches so he does a lot of repetition with him on non practice days. Basketball season was another story but he loves the game and has the ability so hopefully once the brain fog clears, he can play to his potential. I know it frustrates him to not remember things but I also know he would be lost without sports and when he does accomplish things like making a basket or scoring a run, it really builds his confidence which is a big deal right now.
  9. Have you tried taking zinc? My son always had to wear sunglasses, even on cloudy days, and he has brown eyes so no excuse of having light colored eyes. Once he started on zinc, he barely wears his sunglasses anymore - although I still encourage him to wear them (polarized which helps block glare on cloudy days too) to protect his eyes. We had his zinc levels tested last year and they were low, though not terribly low but enough to warrant supplements. Maybe it could be worth trying?
  10. So glad to hear the good news! May the healing continue
  11. That's a great idea. I think my husband's company matches gifts too. I'll check.
  12. I have been buying ours at Trader Joes. I'll have to check out this brand at Whole Foods and compare!
  13. My son is solely Lyme and has an eye tic that seems to be lessening with Lyme treatment.
  14. We had some herxing the first couple of weeks of treatment, fevers, body aches, but that was 5 months ago and we haven't had that kind of herxing since. We have seen gradual improvement in mood, focus, and schoolwork. Our LLMD believes in slow and steady. Although I will add that my son has had many different rashes with the antibiotic use which are believed to be Bartonella. We came to a standstill (and maybe some regression) about three weeks ago and decided to stop antibiotics and go the herb route. Our dr told of us if we see hexing we should call him because that means it's too much of the herbs. Knock on wood - we have seen more improvement and no herxing. I think the important thing is to see some gains. Have you spoken to your dr about possibly changing the antibiotic?
  15. My son and I tried some the other day and we thought it was pretty good. We avoid Gatorade due to the dyes so maybe this is another option for my son while playing sports. Haven't done much research on it but would be interested to hear what other people have to say about it.
  16. I am fair skinned so I tend to burn easily anyway but I can sunscreen up and be fine. BUT when I was on doxy last summer, it was as if I was a piece of bacon frying in the sun. Despite tons of sunscreen and a hat, my skin was stinging so bad I had to go inside after only a short time (1/2 hr). I ended up switching to tetracycline which was easier with the sun. Hopefully bactrim won't cause as much sun sensitivity for you. i know you know b/c you've written it. . . but -- really watch the sun. i don't know if bactrim is the same as doxy, but i was on that a few years ago and got a couple sun burns even though i thought i was being cautious. enjoy your time in FL!
  17. Thank you for posting this. I am so thankful to the younger doctors who are studying under him so that all of his knowledge can be carried on for our kids.
  18. My son takes his pills with OJ in the morning and water at night but to change it up and get more fluids into him, he likes a splash of cranberry juice with seltzer. Gives it a soda like fizz but less sugar. You could add the seltzer to any kind of juice to lessen the sugar.
  19. I wonder why the green tea helps. Do you use a certain brand? My son likes a blueberry herb tea that I buy but I haven't paid attention to see if it helps.
  20. Hmm, I have never heard of bactrim doing that. Did Dr. Jones disagree with that theory (I'm wondering since he said to put her back on it)?
  21. What was the reason the dr gave for taking her off of the Bactrim? My son was put on Bactrim & Zith for his Lyme.
  22. Our dr runs a metabolic profile every month to keep an eye on the liver.
  23. My son had a raised bumpy rash on his arms at the beginning of his treatment and our LLMD thought it was related to the colon not detoxing properly (my son had some constipation issues). Once we got the colon working better (pipes clearing), the rash went away. We are dealing with Lyme and Bartonella. My son also had a rash on his face that seemed more related to Bartonella and seems to come in cycles.
  24. The ART showed that the antibiotics weren't adding any additional benefit than what the herbs could do. LLMD was somewhat surprised by that and did offer to keep my son on both but since there wasn't much value to using both, we went with herbs only. Interestingly, my son has been in such a good mood these past few days of being on just the Neem. We haven't started the A-Bart yet - I'm afraid that could change everything. Do you know of a good informational website for herbs?
