  1. I never had aide going through my years of school and i still don't. I honestly never even got picked on by the kids, if any body was stressing me out it was my parents cause they just don't understand whats wrong and why i do what i do. Honestly, i cant say i have sever tics or ever had sever tics so i cant really speak in your place due to me not knowing how your child is.
  2. Do you guys think there might actually be a cure one day? Is our problem a big enough of a problem for doctors to spend time on it trying to find a cure?
  3. Ugh i feel your pain i got everything you mentioned plus much more. I sometimes feel it is in my head also because when my minds on something else i have no tics. ALthough i cant keep my self from remembering that i have tics which results in me ticing again. I hope somebody comes in with a real answer.
  4. Sometimes i feel that these things can be habits. I have some tics that i just have NO control over, but their are others that i can keep my self from doing i just cant stand the feeling of holding them back. For example, eye blinking i can hold it but if i hold it my eye starts getting uncomfortable causing me to blink. Or neck stretching my neck feels uncomfortable so if i try to not stretch it starts feeling even more uncomfortable so i just stretch it. Others that i feel that are involentary are some vocals tics and sometimes head bobbing and arm movements.

  6. I guess im werid but when im in a pool, ocean, shower, any thing that involves water. I feel SOO relaxed that i dont have a SINGLE tic i love the water and its really the only place i can be and feel 100% comfortable and free. Not everyone reacts the same to chlorine. ive been in chlorine pools, salt pools... No problems
  7. and i assume this is 100% safe? I was reading about it and turns out its only legal in America so there has to be a reason for that
  8. what you mentioned is not medication correct? Its just a supplement i can find in a vitamin shoppe?
  9. Hey everyone, once again i am back with a new tic problem. Some nights i tic so bad. My tics include crazy vocal tics (this is usually the only time i get vocal tics), and motor tics. My body goes crazy i tic constantly over and over i spend hours tossing in turning in bed ticing before i fall asleep. This is so horrible i cant stand this anymore. Does anybody know a way to prevent this?
  10. Questions: Did you stay on the supplement regimen that caused those changes? If so, I would be interested to know what supps they were and how long it took before your body adapted and they were no longer working. And then if that was the case, if you cycled off of them and then started them back up later, did you notice the same effect again? If you stopped taking them, why? Thanks. Is there a study on maybe how often tics completely get healed in people as they age? I really would love to be one of those people im sure everybody on here would too. I saw this man walking at school the other day he was a old man he just stopped and started to tic i really felt bad for him even though im going through the same thing.
  11. ^ wow really they increased? thats horrible..
  12. Hello everyone, i was reading a thread on here not to long ago and i noticed some people saying people can outgrow their tics or at least they would reduce alot. This brings me to making this thread. Just out of curiosity can everyone who has tics answer these questions so we can all see how they work as you grow older? Age when tics started - Current Age - Did your tics reduce or increase as you aged - How old were you when they reduced if they reduced - Ill start Age when tics started - id say about 7-9 years old Current age - 19 going on 20 Increased or decreased - they seem to have increased a little but not really to much. How old was I when they reduced if they did - haven't reduced yet. I just think it would be nice to see if tics would reduce as you grow 21 years of age or older when the brain matures fully. Thanks guys
  13. When i have some time and money ill purchase it try it out and let you all know how it effects me.

  17. HMM!!!!! good point i didnt take my vitamins with me to san diego they contain amino acids, that could be it. But the thing is the tics came back before i got home and once i got home i was fine again after taking the vitamins. Ive realized something about me. My body always feels uncomfortable i always feel like something its bothering me. I feel like i might be having panic attacks every time i drive or every time im in class etc. I feel like my breathing gets harder and i feel like im panicing inside. When i come home and lay down on my bed i feel super comfortable so my tics are pretty much almost gone.
  18. ugh i have no idea. Im confused more then ever now i have no idea what to think.
  19. i was pretty much 99% tic free at san diego and my vocal tic has disappeared
  20. All of my tics are constant they usually dont go away so i guess its not that bad. Unless somethings REALLLY wrong with me .
  21. Hi everyone, i just got back from San Diego i was there with my friend visiting our other friend. I noticed something i drove and once i started leaving Los Angeles i was getting noticiably calmer and my tics were reducing. The whole time i was at San Diego i had no tics, well i had a few but i think it was normal everybody does some blinking some moving around but i was feeling so happy that i was not ticing. On the way back i was doing great until i got closer to home then my tics started going crazy. Could it be that i am ticing because of my home area? pollution, stress, people around me? I really couldn't believe how much of a difference this trip made. Any suggestions? Oh also when i was at San Diego i ate like MacDonalds and other super unhealthy things, drank sodas, alcohol, smoked tobacco. I did it all with out any tics.
  22. I have a very hard time sitting still. The only way i am able to sit still is if i dose off into a different world and just day dream. I cant sit still i always have my sholder tic, eye tic, neck tic, and abdominal tic. Those are my main ones and it gives me a really hard time sitting still and paying attention. I was actually going to post up a new thread asking if anybody has children or even them selves with tics who have a hard time paying attention or reading. I have a really tough time concentrating on my reading because i always tic after every 2 words i read. It is really making it really hard for me to do my thing to get my law degree. I was looking up A.D.D symptoms and i have a few of them so i feel like that might be also one of my problems. If anybody else has any input for both of us please let us know. no body has any input on this?
  23. My point was that dizziness and headache side effects that go away as your body adapts to the medication are a million times better than permanent movement disorder side effects that don't go away even after you stop the medication. But yes the drowsiness can suck. One night a few weeks after I started Clonidine I was driving to my gf's place (I hadn't even taken my pill yet that night) and I got a MASSIVE drowsiness attack in the car on the highway. It was pretty scary. But that was before my body adapted. I actually reduced the dosage since then, too, and I don't have drowsiness issues anymore. Oh i did not realize your body adapts to it... thats good
  24. Some of them aren't bad. Clonidine and Tenex don't have too bad of side effects... drowsiness, dizziness, headaches, loss of libido sometimes. It's the neuroleptics and stuff with the bad sides. those are still had side effects especially if you drive alot what if your on the free way and u get this sudden dizziness
  25. Very nice info thank you for putting that together. Just a suggestion how about some natural treatments such as supplements etc. Those medication side effects really scare me, some are horrible.
