Antivirals and Probiotics
trintiybella replied to trintiybella's topic in PANS / PANDAS (Lyme included)
Yes, horrible constipation. I started Acyclovir and it's the only medication that she hasn't gotten violent with. She also started pooping with it. I am holding my breath that this continues. I am working on clostridia at the same time. Still real sick but not as psychotic and aggressive. Phew! So, I don't have to space the probiotics away from antiviral like I did with antibiotic. Thank you everyone for your help!!! -

I would like to learn more about reading these lab results on viruses that i have for my daughter. Does anyone know of an online resource that helps with this? Our doctor didn't seem to concerned with my child's results but I am not comfortable with this. Thanks

I agree with everything the others said. It is probably not the last time you will be in this situation. One of the hardest things for me has been the unbelievers! I keep trying to ignore them and move forward. At times it's so hard, I know. Be strong. Your the mom and your correct in what your seeing. How about trying this Dr. L. that people keep tallking about???

Kind of Urgent and Need Your Help
trintiybella replied to trintiybella's topic in PANS / PANDAS (Lyme included)
Actually, neither J. Hopkins or Dr. L takes our insurance. :0( I have been to 6 neurologists though. They have been no help at all. -
When I brought my two year old to Children's Hospital and told of her hallucinations, aggression, dialated pupils, agitation, severe anxiety and insomnia, they did an EEG, blood work and MRI. They said see a psychiatris. Why was a spinal tap not done and did I really fail my child by not pushing for one? Why, with all of those horrible psych. symptoms, did they not do one??? Was it because nothing remarkable was seen on the Video EEG or MRI? Does anyone have any knowledge of the steps a doctor would follow in a case like my daughters? I know I should not dwell on this but I am sick to my stomach that if I pushed for a spinal tap she would not be in such a state right now.

Valtrex side effects - good or bad

what probiotics are good for C-diff? thanks -
As most know, my daughter is really a tough case and we have had no improvement other than GABA calming her a bit. She can't take her eyes off the computer and can't even answer a question because of intrusive thoughts. She she comes away from the computer she can't stop dancing, banging her fists on piano or running into the street at all hours. Nothing has brought her out of this trance except Lysine, but it makes her aggressive too. It has bee 16 long years and tonight after doing a lot of research, something jumped out at me. Herpes Encephalitis. I (her mom) had herpes all the time on my lip growing up. My whole family had it. Lysine is the only thing that brought her out of her trance like state and bouncing off walls. My gut tells me this is it. John Hopkins had a big article on it. Would you start by calling John Hopkins Hospital, or should I call the doctor I am working with to see if he can call over there? Please let me know what you would do???? The stories I am reading are horrible and I am afraid she has had it too long and the brain damage is irreversible. I am so shaken up tonight. Any comments will be appreciated.

So far the only supplement that has given my daughter any relief is GABA. It helped debilitating intrusive thoughts, eating disorder, confusion and really helped focus. The one thing it did not help is sleep. She pulls all nighters for days. Really! I am testing her neurotransmitters to see where she is at, but I have some questions. Do you know if it is better to do it through urine or blood work? and also what specialist is the best to help me with the results or should I read up and try figuring it out on my own? Thanks for your opinions!!

Please help; discouraged and sad

How's it going Bella? -
The state came in to help me. Your situation has to be pretty dire and it sounds like your is. They sent a social worker, someone to do crafts, and a trainer. Most days my daughter hid and was not able to be around people but on those days they made dinner for me!!! I am in NJ, and it was called Perform Care. Perhaps your state has something similar???

I am so sorry your going through this. I hope someone that is more knowledgable on this responds to you. Thinking of you....

I'm only giving 16 year old daughter 5mg. Can I give more? It's the only thing I've found to control yeast this far.

I can get her to eliminate with probiotics but everyone I try makes her more anorexic or really mean. Tried magnesium but the tiniest bit makes her SUPER hyper and mean. She eats lots of fruit, water, protein bars and that's about it, since she has mJor eating disorder. The only thing I can think is she's lacking fats but fish oils are out of the question. I've tried 5 times and ITS TOTAL RAGING!! Any suggestions?

Treating bartonella help
trintiybella replied to anonymous0121's topic in PANS / PANDAS (Lyme included)
We have been treating lyme/bartonella for years. Lots of psych symptoms here and anything we try makes her worse and more agitated. Even magnesium. After treatment I did notice the bartonella rash went away so I guess something helped. She is not on anything right now and she just can't slow down. She has been like this since a baby. She wakes up and starts to run full speed around the rooms. She can't even catch her breath. The whole time she just keeps saying, I can't slow down. I think it goes hand and hand with severe intrusive thoughts. When she does slow down, she can't come away from computer or TV. You can't even talk to her because the thought are so bad. Its horrible. I am looking into the LDI, but until we get there I need to try something to try and help her. What's really scarey is that when the thoughts get really bad and she reaches the breaking point, she bursts into a rage because she can't take it any more. You never know when the rage is, so it scares the devil out of you. Happens mostly when we drive. Ugh. I need to look into the Buhner protocol but I don't want to do it alone. Too tired. Any doctors in the NJ area you know of? Thanks so much and thinking of both of you!!! -
Nonstop muscle constricting debilitating
trintiybella replied to anonymous0121's topic in PANS / PANDAS (Lyme included)
I can sympathize with you. How horrible!!! My daughter has been excersiIng since 12pm today. She said it calms her thoughts. Make me physically ill watching her! Her intrusive thoughts are aweful. The only thing I've seen help a bit is really low dose of lamictal. I'm so sorry for you guys! -
