My sister was just diagnosed with this. Symptoms are an extremely itchy rectal area. It made me start to think about my child.... Every time I up her magnesium or zinc, she suffers terribly in that same location. I am attributing it to yeast, but now I am wondering about what my sister was diagnoses with???

I know these two things are suppose to be taken by mouth without being in a capsule, but there is no way she will take them. Bribing does not work that well with a 16 year old. She is a real trooper with all of the supplements (in capsules) I give her but she can't stand the liquids directly into her mouth. It is really hard to even get water into her. She gags on it and hates liquids. It is OCDish and comes and goes. Does anyone give either of these things in capsules and is it going to help if done that way?

She's running me ragged.

Thanks you everyone for the suggestions. -
Since starting all of these antibiotics, my child has a little more focus but she is so focused that when I say "no" to any of her thoughts, War World lll breaks out!!! So my day is running anywhere she wants to go and it is literally killing me. I am out of energy. We run to target and Walmart all hours of the night, buy tons of clothes that she ends up not liking the next day and then we return. This happens every day!!! Her anxiety about her life being wasted away is over the top and she wants every waking hour filled with things to do. I am not kidding. I am exhausted. I decided with treatment I would do whatever it takes to get her through this, but I can't do it anymore. The doctor wants me to keep her on all of the abx. and just keep adding things to calm her, but nothing seems to stop her from being more aggressive with the abx. (they make her thoughts more powerful and the need to follow through on whatever thought she has and she is unstoppable) It is really not that I am a weak parent. You CAN NOT say the word no to her. She was not like this when the abx. weren't on board. Can anyone relate to this? Any what would you do?? Thanks!!! IVIG is not an option because we don't have the money for it and insurance is not paying.

She's taking so much and still no sleep!
trintiybella replied to trintiybella's topic in PANS / PANDAS (Lyme included)
It's all the racing thoughts in her head keeping her up. She said her body wants to sleep but her brain won't let her. Thanks for the suggestions -

My child gets so aggressive on the abx. because I think they make her thoughts worse. I can't give up on them because they help with other symptoms, plus we have nothing else left to try to help her. Anyway...magnesium citrate seems to help with focus and calm the thoughts but how high can I go on this supplement? She is taking 200mg right now. Thank You.

I can't get my daughter to drink lemon water anymore. Almost impossible to drink anything! Any suggestions on what to add for detox? Thanks

The mac computer was the best investment I ever made! It is the only thing that calms my child. If it were not around I would be hospitalized for a nervous break down. She needs it. Poor kids. No, my child can not attend school. With all confusion and racing thoughts it's impossible. All I can do at this time is to keep trying to get her some help while keeping her safe. Hang in there. Your certainly not alone!!!

Is this our life forever?
trintiybella replied to cobbiemommy's topic in PANS / PANDAS (Lyme included)
Really does suck the life out of you, doesn't it? I too have been at it going on 15 years. I just can't believe I have survived this, but somehow we get the strength because we have to. No other choice. My daughter is on so much medication and it all makes her so aggressive and scary, but without it, she sits there like a zombie and can not even get up to go to the bathroom because thoughts and confusion are so bad. It's horrible. I have noticed that magnesium citrate added in with all of the antiboitics does really help to calm the aggression. I am sure you have that on board. I so hope things get better for you. Hang tough! and message me for support anytime!!! -
I think I am seeing a pattern that every time I give a good dose of something to fight yeast my child gets super bad head cold and cough. Do you think that the yeast fighters could be causing this? Perhaps stirring up some viruses or bacteria? Thanks!

Doc wants to do surgery.
trintiybella replied to trintiybella's topic in PANS / PANDAS (Lyme included)
It's a friends child Philamom. -
She's five years old has down syndrome with chronic sinus infections/cold/congestion from fall through spring. Usually has to be on anabiotic's for months. ENT is now talking about surgery. I told her I would do everything I could try before thinking about surgery. Do any of you have any suggestions. Thanks so much.

I took a look at the thread regarding schooling options. It was awesome. I will call around today, but I was wondering if I may ask you a question first. My daughter is quite far behind and is embarrassed and has lots of anxiety about any teacher seeing this. What would work for her right now (until we try to get her better) is some simple work books she can try to do on her own, with a friendly online instructor that will check in weekly to see how she is doing. Any kind of pressure sends her into a tail spin. Can someone tell me if they know of anything that would help us with this. Thanks!

Milk Thistle Bringing out the Infections?
trintiybella replied to trintiybella's topic in PANS / PANDAS (Lyme included)
I took it the evening and the next day, I was so exhausted and I had a hard time walking, along with flu symptoms. These are symptoms that I have had prior to being treated for lyme that have subsided quite a bit with treatment. They came back full force when I took the milk thistle. Perhaps its just stirring something up. I am going to back down and try again. -
Itchy Rectum after upping Zinc Picolinate
trintiybella replied to trintiybella's topic in PANS / PANDAS (Lyme included)
I am pretty sure that it was from too much zinc. I did several tests and sure enough the itch starts when I go to high on this supplement. Thanks for your suggestions! -
Thank you everyone for your suggestions. I always make the mistake of thinking she is ready for some kind of learning. She is just too sick. The poor thing can hardly brush her teeth and get dressed due to severe confusion and OCD. I just keep getting ahead of myself...
