patty
My son's acunpuncturist recommended American Genseng & Fritillaria Cirrhosae Bulbus in powder form for his asthma cough. Does anyone know if the American Genseng may be bad for tics & TS? I look it up online and it is good for asthma cough. Thx for your help! faith
Pat, Today I was in the library and found a book called "The Cure in the Cupboard" or something like that and it was basically a book about how oregano is good for alot of things. One of the things it suggested oil of oregano for was coughing, the kind of chronic couphing that some people have and never figure out what is causing it. What do you think about trying that for your son? It seems benign enough. It said to sniff the oil several times a day and a take a few drops of the oil too, and that you could also gargle with a few drops in warm salt water. I think it might be worth a try. There is probably some kind of oil of oregano or tincture type thing at the health food store. You could do some search about it too. Come to think about it, I may give it a go too, as my son's vocal sounds are sometimes like a "hough", almost sounds like he's choking on something. Anyone have any experience with this herb for this type thing? Faith

I use it for sore throats and it works but it's nasty stuff. I also have a friend who makes oil of oregano compresses for the feet to help eliminate viruses and toxins. I've never heard of people using it for a cough, quite frankly, just for a sore throat but I'm sure some web research will turn something up for you! MARYANN
Hi, I was going to use Oil of organo for candida for my daughter. I spoke to the nutritionist at Great plain labs and she did not recommend it and said it is very strong. I also read alot of good things about Oil of oregano and I read the reviews on the book called "The cure in the cupboard". The nutritionist kind of scarred me which by the way don't take much. I think it is also suppose to be good for the flu. I might buy it for myself to try. I don't know if I would give it to a child but if I did I would start with a small dose.
