Cum Passus
My question is if a person has an allergy to lets say goldenrod (pollen) could he safely take a homeopathic remedy that has that flower in it? (liquid drops) The Homeopathic says yes, but I'm bringing this to you all for your thoughts. Much gratitude, C.P.
Chemar
Hi the principle in classic homeopathy would say that miniscule amounts of the substance that causes the problem are required to strengthen the system as i am not a homeopath, I honestly dont know if the flower remedy will be ok for your child, but if the homepath treating him says ok then it should be ok just do remember that with homeopathy, things often get worse before they get better, which is part of the healing process in homeopathy
patty
C.P. Chemar is right. Homeopathic medicine does have a "healing crisis" effect on some people. So i would recommend to start with the lowest dose first and slowly work your way up to the optimal dosage. My son started homepathic medicine, it intensified his existing symptoms and added many new symptoms he didn't have before he started the treatment. Once he stop the medicine, his symptoms also subsided. However, I would like to stress that my son's reaction to homeopathic medicine is not typical. My son's naturalpathic dr said my son is one of the very few that is highy sensitive. As i understand, flower essence is not the same as homeopathic medicine. You may want to clearify that with your homeopath. Patty
Chemar
as far as i know, flower remedies ARE considered homeopathic The original Bach Flower Remedies were made according to the Homepathic methods of Dr. Edward Bach to stimulate the body’s own capacity to heal itself by balancing negative feelings, helping you to take control, feel good about yourself, and get more out of life. Chemar, This is what my son's craniosacral therapiest told me. I thought the flower essence is the same as the Bach Flower remedy, but she said no. She also treated me for stress and anxiety with her flower essence mix. When I take the flower essence, I don't have to avoid food or strong smell for 10 - 20 minutes as I would when I take the Bach Flower Remedy. I take the Rescue Remedy and other specific homeopathic remedies for minor things, like muscle pain, canker sore, anxiety....and I get pretty good results. Chemar
hi Patty Flower ESSENCE and Flower REMEDY are different things. In her post, Cum Passus had asked about homeopathic Flower REMEDY (although I do see the word essence in the title, so can understand the confusion) Cum Passus, you are referring to a homeopathic flower remedy right? as opposed to an aromatherapy type essence or liquid tincture
Cum Passus
Sorry guys, I guess I'm not sure what the difference is between the two. I was thinking about a detox with the flowers in it. I do have the Bach too for stress and was not sure about giving it to him. C.P.
patty
CP, Sounds like you are pretty stress and can use some relieve. When my son was at his worse, I had trouble sleeping and staying asleep. I used to wake up in the middle of the nite with panick attack, or I would get one out of the blue. Anyways, since you've been using the Resue Remedy, which I also use. I find that it only works with minor occassional stress. The best thing to do is use one remedy that is closest to your symptoms. For example, i use Arsenicum Album whenever I have anxiety. People who benefit from Arsenicum Album are those whose anxiety and insecurity are accompanied by a fast heartbeat, chills, and a disturbed appetite, who are also often obsessively tidy and organized. In addition, it is also suitable for people who are susceptible to depression and suffer from anxiety and insecuity. They are often perfectionists who may have severe phobias. Restlessness and insomnia between 12 and 2am are commom. If I have an extremely bad day, i would take Arsenicum Album every 20 minutes until I feel relieve (usu 2X is enough for me), then follow by the Rescue remedy. If you take it for more than 4X and it is not working, then it is probably not the right remedy for you. BTW, you can get it at Whole Foods or any health food store. Hope this helps. Cum Passus
Oh Patty, I would wake up at night too with an attack, I saw my Dr. for it, but he said it was because I was unsure about how something new in our sons life would end up. It went away once school started so I guess he was right. I'm not glad you had that.. just happy to hear someone else has had those feelings... I thought my heart was going to jump out of my chest. And I lost over 20 pounds in 4 months. Not good I know, all is stable now. The Bach was for my son, but I confess I used it to see how it worked. I thought it was good, still to chicken to give it to my son. C.P.
Chemar
CP my son responds very well to the Bach Rescue Remedy as a help in relieving stress(as do I ) We dont use it daily or for minor stress...but if anxiety builds and breathing and other relaxation techniques dont help....out comes the trusty Bach's! I believe Giselle has also used it successfully

quan_daniel
All, The only concern I have seen it is 27% brandy alcohol. I am not sure I want to give it to young children. Thanks
patty
Although the alchol content is about 28%, the dosage is 3-5 drops at a time. It is safe for children. However, it may not be a good idea to someone who is sensitive to alchol. Patty
nicholandrew
Homeopathy is a system of alternative medicine. Homeopathy is a well-described, scientifically based system of approaching health and curing disease. Homeopathy focuses on healing the underlying cause of disease, not simply eliminating the symptoms caused by the disease. Remedies used by homeopathic physicians come from natural sources and are prepared in such a way that they are devoid of all chemical toxicity. Homeopathy is the essence of the art of healing. When homeopathy is well practiced, it is the medicine of choice to recover one''s health from the great majority of acute and chronic problems.
