MamaOnAMission Posted July 2, 2012 Report Posted July 2, 2012 Just needed to vent. My stomach is in knots every time she makes a new friend and loses them because of her impulsivity!!! I am sure lots of you can relate. Just gotta keep trying to get her some relief!!! Ugh!!!
rowingmom Posted July 2, 2012 Report Posted July 2, 2012 (edited) Hugs from here too. My daughter has made some friends at the CBT program she belongs to. They do group as well as one-on-one therapy. The children seem a little more understanding about meltdowns there. Edited July 2, 2012 by rowingmom
Hopeny Posted July 2, 2012 Report Posted July 2, 2012 me too, I sort of started not having any expectations, so everything positive is a huge gain and anything negative does not cause that terrible feeling. I have done a complete 180 in my thinking. I have accepted that our lives are now different. My priority is the present so my DD can have a future. It is so so very hard
mar Posted July 3, 2012 Report Posted July 3, 2012 Lilly I am curious about how impulsive you dd is . My dd is impulsive also which makes my head spin at times. I always tell her you will not have friends if you act that way. Does your daughter have lyme ( yes I know this might sound silly since you are on the board but I don't know if dd does and your message sounds to close to home). Curious and wondering! Mar

I haven't even been able to wrap my head around the impulsivity and how to best handle it. Wish we could have a big Lyme/PANDAS playdate for the little ones so they could play without judgement.
MamaOnAMission Posted July 3, 2012 Author Report Posted July 3, 2012 My child was diagnosed with Lyme:Bart. Treatment made her much worse as usuall. She's being treated for yeast and fungus now. I just keep trying EVERYTHING and nothing seems to help. It seems now that her gut is really messed up. Her major symptoms are confusion impulsivity major OCD. She can't keep friends cause always teasing them or doing inappropriate things like squeezing them. Can't reprimand cause she does not "get" that she's doing anything wrong. She loves these friends. She has no control!!! I she's a great kid just something toxic poisoning her brain!

Dr. Cunningham has referred to it as the "2nd brain."
