Need abx recommendation for nursing mom!
thereishope replied to matis_mom's topic in PANS / PANDAS (Lyme included)
Babies can take probiotics. As for what antibiotics is safe for a nursing mom, do you have a lactation consultant or OBGYN you can contact? You could always express the milk while you are on abs and give the baby either frozen breast milk or formula for the time being. If you do not want to use a bottle, again, contact a lactation consultant and there are ways to feed a baby that is not a bottle. They will supply you with what you need. -

Some have cited a flare in symptoms post t and a or post dental visit with laughing gas. Many think that it is due to tissue damage/exposure and the bacteria finding it's way to the blood system. I agree with that. However, in my opinion (and it's only an opinion) I cannot ignore that anesthesia is also a common factor. Personally, I would steer away from anesthesia until the child is recovered for a good amount of time, if you can. I realize some thing cannot be put off. So, if you must have surgery, perhaps discuss with the doctor ahead of time about having a steroid burst available if PANDAs really flares up.

Before voting, please come to this thread and copy and paste who we have to vote for. IT DID CHANGE TODAY. It only takes an extra seconds to come here first. As I get confirmation that spots are filled, I update it. -

mama2alex, you cannot just copy and paste links from this site. thsi site abbreviates it. you have to click on it here, then you'd have to copy and paste it from your browser. However, many are having issues with Pepsi's site giving errors. The to do (and this is how I have to do it), is to go to www.refresheverything.com and search the long keyword I provide with everyone's name. -
Pepsi Refresh Project PANDAS
thereishope replied to thereishope's topic in PANS / PANDAS (Lyme included)
Airial, we are not exclusive. When I first started looking for people for June, I would mention being exclusive at least in not voting people in front of us. They would say that they could not do that. I am then left with the decision to walk away and let them also walk away with a very large sum of votes or do I agree and at least know they won't be given to someone who may eventually pass us. Currently, we are not having large sums really presented to us. I have contacted MANY MANY submissions. Things may change. I am still talking to entries. I'll tell you. It is hard to compete with school districts, teachers, etc. They have a lot of people backing them. Pepsi should have done health against health. -

Child reaction- seriously like I need this right now
thereishope replied to bgbarnes's topic in PANS / PANDAS (Lyme included)
At 8 years old, PANDAS or not, a lot of boys may have that reaction, regardless of what the gender is of the other person. Then if he is in an exacerbation, it kicks it up a notch. Go to the party with your head held up high and give them a very dirty look when they're not looking. I am very ready for summer break! Today is my kids' last day. At 5 am this morning, I had my 6 yr old PANDAS son in the ER. they claim it's viral and he could go to school. He wanted to go. Since preschool was a disaster and he missed preschool graduation, I wanted him to go to his last day of kindergarten. I just want summer to come!!!!!!!!!!!! -
I am copying that link idea and will post one in a daily post. Please note...I am rotating some causes every day. That way we reach more causes and get more support. Some will stay consistent, some will vary. This is the only way we will be reciprocated fairly. For family, I understand letting them keep a main link, for us, please visit the June thread beforevoting so you have the right link to votes. Thank you June thread (hopefully the June one will replace this one sooner or later) The JUNE thread has voting info http://www.latitudes.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=8449

I feel so bad. To be struck with sudden tragedy once and then again. Speechless. My prayers go out to her and her family.

It's the last day of June and we slipped to #6!!!! Like Peg said, it's time to give this competetion a streroid burst! Please give today everything you have & more. I have seen causes drop 4 or 5 spots in a day. We can't afford to do that now! We have 17 hours to win this thing and we can do it! Everyone needs to post our link somewhere to day to get that final surge of voters! Vote! Vote!! Vote!!! No more discussion on this thread. We are starting a cleaned up verison. Thank you! http://www.latitudes.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=8449

kim....As for this one, it's so busy already that I will start a new one in the morning. A cleaned up one. Kelly and I discussed getting the other one deleted as she was the original author she will request that to be deleted. Once that one gets deleted then our new cleaned up version can replace it in the top section. I'll put a hault to this one in the morning in case anyone else wants to chime in about the whole voting on others' behalf thing still tonight.Hopefully that will put to rest for the most part on thew new thread. In order to get more causes to support us, I will rotate out the ones that are lesser supportive. they will still be reciprocated VERY fairly. So, every so often a list might change, but at that time I will draw attetion to the change and provide one of those nifty links in which all will be listed to vote from. so, it would be beneficial to look at the new thread often (once it is started in the morning).

I know there's a chance the current ranking may not be correct, but maybe it is. I don't care. I'm just happy right now. We're ranked 7!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

504 eligbility meeting tomorrow

My advice...ask for the stars and then when they give you the minimum, bargain. It worked for my son's IEP in the past. -

thereishope replied to GraceUnderPressure's topic in PANS / PANDAS (Lyme included)
Grace, I just wanted to say I'm sorry that happened to you. It's an awful feeling to think you might be finding a piece to the puzzle to then be so disappointed. Like someone else said, this forum is here 24/7, FREE and a heck of a lot more experience. I try to keep neutral now , but it does push my buttons when questions are answered with page numbers instead of just spreading the knowledge to parents trying to save their children. -
We are the only health issue in the top 10 in 50K! Please be proud of yourselves on this first day. We are not an established organization. We are not a school district with emails of every parent to contact. We are parents fighting for their kids and I think we are doing a great job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And for the record, kids' health is much more important than a website for graphic designers. Correction in the whole competition, there are only 2 true health topics in the top 10 (any division) and we are one of them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm thinking out loud here. If we do not win in June, we could somehow file a complaint to them along with supplying a petition of sorts with people signing it who had problems with our page freezing up. I think it's silly how Pepsi claims all of our people who live across the country , logging in different times of the day, has our page freezing yet pepsi says the error is in no way their fault. One can easily see how big organizations, schools, and universities win these.

My computer is a few weeks old and it freezes. Ridiculous!
-
Maybe if I wasn't exhausted I would think of that, Cheri:) I will remember that! I think after today, we'll end this one anyway and let it run it's course. We'll start a new, cleaned up thread. That way if other parents want to read it, it doesn't seem so overwhelming.
