  1. Pretty close...except sick son is actually stepson who is home with his mother (phew) and since it's now nightime I'm picturing a Mimosa (have those ingredients on hand). Then I can really get angry at the IDSA! But I love seeing all the lyme comments they're receiving - yeah! Thanks for the chuckle!
  2. I suggest 5 drops each three times a day for apo hepat and itires and start with two drops once a day and build up to 5 drops twice a day for Renelix. Renelix can cuase urinary frequency or nighttime bedwetting if dosage is incorrect so since you're not using ART, build up slowly.Excellent remedies in my experience. Thanks! How is the taste when mixed with water? Anything else they can be mixed with?
  3. Philamom I hope you are following Dr Klinghardt's instructions on urine collection for KPU and not the labs.If not then PM me for them. Yes, I am - forgot at first.
  4. The Idsa is asking what we would like from them in 2012 on their facebook page. http://www.facebook.com/IDSociety
  5. I agree, especially if the acute presentation was during the toddler years and overlooked or misinterpreted.
  6. Good to know - thx.
  7. I have to bring my daughter in for a blood draw in the next two weeks. We recently ran the usual stuff (CBC,CMP,exc) and some labs for lupus, but one of them was not done (darn these labs). I would like to explore the Methylation process some more. Can anyone recommend some blood tests from Quest that I can have our local doc order. I would like to take advantage of another blood draw. I know MTHFR is one. What else? Thank you!
  8. Arrgh I'm so mad at myself. I called and was told to wait another week, especially since the brand she was drinking included zinc & B6. I do hate having her off vitamin supplements for two weeks. She is showing signs of a sinus/ear problem. Her brother came home from college sick and was just diagnosed with ammonia. That's Mycoplasma P, right? Meanwhile, I've been stuck inside since Monday because dd won't leave the house and hubby is out of town. I'm out of coffee!! Ok - sorry for the pity party.
  9. I'm really screwing up these days. All set to do the urine culture this Saturday: stopped multi-vit (check), called about shipping (check), got urine container (check). I just realized my daughter's been drinking vitiman water all week. (sigh) Should I hold off until the following weekend?
  10. We stay at the Doubletree with a special rate for his patients. I will pm you the info. Tpotter gets a better rate online thru different hotels - you can pm her for details
  11. Here is our experience with Tindamax. Daughter started it in Sept 2010 on weekends only. Herxed on Sun-Tuesday but also improved greatly with treatment. It took a few weekends before improvement started. But then when we did IVIG's with the Tindamax, she had huge "pandas-like" episodes, like LLM described, lasting 2+ months. At the time, we were doing IVIG every 3-4 months because of the extreme herx. After one of her IVIG's, she asked me to kill her (even brought out a large knife)- very scary. In July 2011, her LLMD said to discontinue the Tindamax and continue with the IVIG's, which we then were doing every 8 weeks. We no longer have an extreme herx with IVIG (just normal temporary increase). With that said, I feel the Tindamax made the most improvement with dd's lyme treatment. My daughter had severe GERD and GI issues that dissapeared almost immediately on the Tindamax and have since returned since being off of it (started a month after stopping Tindamax). Of course, now we are dealing with other factors that could be in play - it's hard figuring out what is causing what. Also- she took Tindamax with Minocin.
  12. I'm looking for suggestions on daily dosage of these products. Dd is 70lbs. Thanks. Pekana apo-hepat Pekana itires Pekana renelix
  13. My daughter also has lots of leg pains. Not quite related, but do you all find your joints cracking alot? I swear, whenever my daughter moves you can hear her joints crack (arms, legs, hands). Then I hear a quick "oucchh".
  14. My daughter's GI/GERD issues have been really bad since stopping antibiotics the end of September- becoming worse as time went on. She was taken off of antibiotics due to increased liver functions, elevated sed rate, and positive labs indicitive of lupus (Lyme induced or DILE). Well, her stepbrother came home from college with bronchitis on the 26th and her physical symptoms increased, and then I started her back on Zith on Saturday, and now her symptoms are severe. She's been on the couch since Saturday. Her stools are fine and I ran numerous stool tests (thru Quest) which are all normal. Waiting to hear from the doctor b4 I stop the zithromax. Of course, she can't go on the way things were off antibiotics either. Thank you for all your suggestions!
  15. I'm all set - thanks!

  18. What do the results of the KPU urine test look like? Is it positive or negative, or a list of elevated/decreased levels of vitamins? How long does it take to get results? Sorry, just trying to get informed before running the test this weekend. thx
  19. Sorry to hear things are not well again. I would say at least 250mg. Hopefully, you will get through to Dr. B's office today or tomorrow.
  20. Can someone please remind me of some remedies for severe nausea? My dd is 10 (70lbs). Is anyone taking Ginger capsules or products?
  21. Expected To Be The Worst Year For Lyme Disease Risk Ever story from the New York Times After Lean Acorn Crop in Northeast, Even People May Feel the Effects In Central Park, more than 1,000 trees in the red oak family were spangling the scenery with the colors of autumn. But this year, they were failing to do something else they generally do in the harvest season: produce acorns. “I remember going into areas and you’d get the crunch of acorns under your feet,” said Neil Calvanese, vice president for operations at the Central Park Conservancy. “And this year, you kind of have to search around for them.” It is a phenomenon happening not only in New York but also throughout the Northeast. While last fall set a recorded high for acorn production, at roughly 250 pounds per tree, this year is seeing a recorded low, with a typical tree shedding less than half a pound of its seeds, said Mark Ashton, a forest ecologist at Yale University. On average, oaks produce about 25 to 30 pounds of acorns a year. “Scarlet oak, black oak, true red oak,” Dr. Ashton said. “These are the ones that dominate our forest, and these are the ones that aren’t producing acorns this year.” Coming on the heels of an acorn glut, the dearth this year will probably have a cascade of effects on the forest ecosystem, culling the populations of squirrels, field mice and ground-nesting birds. And because the now-overgrown field mouse population will crash, legions of ticks — some infected with Lyme disease — will be aggressively pursuing new hosts, like humans. “We expect 2012 to be the worst year for Lyme disease risk ever,” said Richard S. Ostfeld, a disease ecologist at the Cary Institute of Ecosystem Studies in Millbrook, N.Y. “We are already planning educational materials.
  22. Our local Quest does it and charges a draw fee. If you are having other standard labs drawn, they then waive the fee. You will need to ship it (Fed Ex) per instructions.
  23. Will do - thanks!
  24. My dd is on Prevacid for severe GERD-like symptoms. 12 days now. Not really happy about it but had to do something. Does the Prevacid need to be stopped prior to testing? I might need to hold off on the Urine test for now.
  25. Does anyone have access to this?
