  1. Good idea! I'll try and mention it without dd noticing. If I draw attention to the matter, dd will assume I feel she is going to vomit and then be upset.
  2. When they prescribed Zofran for your child, did they mention any precautions? liver functions?
  3. I'm checking into it. I need to see if her recent elevated LFT's will be an issue. They are close to normal now (AST 40, ALT 31) from triple digits in September.
  4. Thanks!!
  5. My Dd has no vomiting - just severe nausea. Does it work for the nausea? How long b4 it takes effect? How long does it last? Thank you!
  6. I need to get her on a train and then a taxi to Dr. B's office. Considering I can't get her in the car for more than 5 minutes, I'm nervous! I just learned of this medicine today. It sounds like my fix, for now. Any info. would be helpful! thx
  7. I talked to the Pharmacist and he thought the Zofran might be the way to go. He remembers two years ago when we were in the same situation and about to sedate Dd completely to get her to CT. We backed out at the last minute due to the concern of something happening during the 3+hr drive. The difference now is my daughter is in a better place with her non-physical symptoms, so is more willing to try and work through this. Did it work right away? Any side effects? Did it make you sleepy? thx
  8. Has Dr. B, or any doctor, ever prescribed a prescription med for severe nausea? Or to counter the nausea experienced after IVIG. Zofran was mentioned to me as one type of medication. You can pm if you like. My daughter is 10 and weighs 70lbs. My daughter has severe nausea and is unable to go anywhere. I need something to help get her to CT. Thank you.
  9. Yes, you just reminded me of something. When she had these issues two years ago, I recall reading some posts where the child was given a script for a medicine to help with post IVIG nausea. Maybe it was Zofran. Is it ok for children? I'll look into it? thx
  10. Thank you. These are all great suggestions. I hope something helps.
  11. I tried the sea bands on her two years ago and it didn't help. I'll try again - even if they don't, maybe she'll feel in control somewhat. If I draw any attention to the matter (while in the car) it seems to make the situation worse -so If I crack the window, she get's irrational and insist I close it. I am addressing her fear of vomiting by talking about it while at home (and she's ok with it) with her and she is attempting the car rides. Today, we didn't make it to our destination on our second trip- had to turn around. I have been at times giving her a tsp of gingerale mixed with water. I will try the saltines throughout the day. She takes Prevacid on an empty stomach in the morning and has to wait 30 minutes b4 eating. thx
  12. What supplement/products will give FAST relief of severe nausea, even if temporary? My daughter will not leave the house again (this happened 2 yrs ago). I am working on her fear of vomiting while in a car, but, this is definitely more of a physical nature then a fear. I'm rewarding her each day for a short ride in the afternoon to a local store 5-10 minutes away. She cannot accomplish this in the morning. We need to take a train to see Dr. B soon and I'm worried she will not be able to go through with it. Do any of the above products work instantly? Any other suggestions?
  13. I agree - pass the tissues. Thanks for posting!
  14. Sorry Ladyjane - missed your post somehow. Would you still like me to pm you?
  15. I haven't started them so I will switch to the 6X. Something's been haywire since early September. We went to the shore for two days and she's been battling physical symptoms ever since, worsening as time goes on. The multi-vitamin we use is a cheapie from Trader Jo's- I don't think there is iron in it. I keep meaning to purchase a better brand. Now waiting to do the KPU urine test first. I will google low Taurine. It wouldn't suprise me if dd isn't able to absorb fats properly. I thought about that before. We had the same severe nausea/ GI issues before that went completely away for 9 months while on lyme treatment. Right now she is NOT on any antibiotics - since the end of September. She also now has significant leg pain, and all over joint pain at times as well. Some new labs are trickling in: Total Cholesterol 90 L (ref 125-170) HDL Cholesterol 23 L (ref 37-75) Triglycerides 227 H (38-135) A month ago it was 82 Sed rate: 94 H (ref <20) Iron, Total 25 L (ref 27-164) Iron Binding Capacity 263 L (ref 271-448) Ferritin is normal AST 40 H (down from triple digits in September) ALT 31 H (" ") RBC, Hemoglobulin, Hematocrit- Low Globulin- High Albumin/Globulin Ratio- Low DNASE B- 298 normal *came down gradually from 663 in September In January & May Sed Rate was 2. In August it was 14. In November it was 96, then 92. In December it was 94.
  16. It's now $90 a night.
  17. Tummy Tonic from Oregon's Wild Harvest brand. Half dropperful each time symptoms appear. They also have organic fennel seed for the same purpose for those kids who will eat it. Nux vomica use the 6X dose 5 pills under tongue, let disslove. To prime use this dosage every 15 mins for the first hour, every hour next two hours and then 3X/day. If she is very emotional along with the nausea then use a 30X potency and same dosing. Not so sure on IV abx. All her symptoms and labs are pointing towards inflammation. If you choose IV abx then please get the abx that are also antiinflammatory. Any LLMD will understand theres inflam looking at the labs and the symptoms you describe. Liposomal Artimisin is helpful for inflam but plain old Motrin might work in some kids. Her nausea/stomach queasiness/cramping symptoms are basically 24/7. And white as a ghost! The lady at the store recommended the 30X since daughter symptoms are chronic. Do you think I should begin with the 6X? It's easy to switch and/or return at Whole Fields. She is not emotional right now (yeah to that). She has been on Prevacid 15mg now for 25 days - don't see it touching it (maybe a smidgen). I worry about the Prevacid since I read it can increase your chances of c-diff. I got her to run to the local Rite Aid tonight with me. She wouldn't leave the house since Saturday. I had this problem two years ago which morphed into her not being able to leave the house for 3 months. I won't let that happen again! Her OCD is much better now though.
  18. Papaya tabs are my son's favorite. In vitamin stores or organic groceries they have nux vomica (homeopathic little sweet balls you put under tongue) which my son really likes as well. He was prescribe a fizzy vitamin C powder once but really did not like it. With a flare-up these help a little but he generally has to go on the BART diet (bananas, applesauce, rice, toast) since not much helps the nausea. Good luck! Purchased the nux vomica - how many do you use? how often? Also bought Country Life Papaya enzymes and some Nature's Way Charcoal. See if something helps here.
  19. For those of you dealing with Mycoplasma, or chronic Mycoplasma, due you see nausea or stomach pain as an issue? Can you have this without coughing symptoms?
  20. So great the word is getting out. Dr. T found that my son has H-Pylori, even when the idiot gastro doctor with her scope didn't. He knew just where to look. H-pylori can cause heaps of trouble!!!! You need to look for the antibodies to it! Nancy Nancy- I know you posted this before, but how was your son's H-Pylori discovered? Blood test? thx
  21. Anyone have experience with a GI doc in Norwalk, CT. I don't want to list his name. Please pm me if you do. thanks
  22. They actually deleted some posts. There was a higher number of responses when I went to bed last night than this morning. Typical!
  23. Sure hope it was renewed :-(
  24. Over 1000 comments requesting that lymes disease, especially chronic lyme, be recognized. YEAH!
  25. Yes, I would appreciate the pm when you get them back. Thank you. Good luck!
