  1. Thank you for the link Nancy! Yes, she is on Armour Thyroid 7.5mg, not the generic. I have an appointment tomorrow with local doc. Will see what he says, maybe its a good thing. I just didn't realize you could be low and high at the same time. Haven't seen any negative effects. Not sure it its working either though.
  2. I'm so happy for you and your family! I've been thinking about you and really glad to hear the great update!!!
  3. Nancy- is it typical for T3 to go up (high range now - was in normal range) after starting Armour Thyroid? T4 is still low. Thanks *new lab results in above post
  4. Had labs drawn after 5 weeks of DD being on Armour thyroid 7.5 mg. It appears her labs have gotten worse, except for the thyroid antibody, which has dropped some. Do you feel I should give it more time or increase the dosage? thoughts? Thyroxine T4 : 4.2 L, now 3.9 L Thyroxine (T4) direct: 0.74 L, now 0.69 L Thryoglobulin: 20.6 H, now 15.6 H Triiodothyronine Free: 4.2 normal, now 5.2 H Triiodothyronine (T3): 191 H TSH: 2.570, now 0.836 (both normal)
  5. Just an FYI- Katz is not taking new patients.
  6. Was your child's instruction virtual or asynchronous? We had a meeting yesterday with a different cyber charter school. I was hoping to get my daughter in a virtual classroom setting, but it might not be possible due to late registration.
  7. We are enrolling dd (13) in an online cyber program for this upcoming school year. If you have any experience or suggestions, would love to hear them. Especially on how to address current IEP. Thx
  8. Which type of magnesium do you recommend? Rifampin is 150mg twice daily. She wont do the Epsom salt bath every night - possibly once a week. Thx.
  9. Could you share your experience, if any, with this combo (rifampin/cipro) for lyme, bartonella, mycoplasma treatment. Thanks.
  10. You could call them to ask. I found them to be very friendly when I called a few times. My dd was positive Dec 2011, and positive last month.
  11. Good luck with your new appt. next week!
  12. Thank you Sheila!
  13. airial- do you know when the new program is expected to open? How far away from the other location(USF)? Are any of the main doctors leaving for the new program? We saw Dr. Rahman last summer and absolutely loved him. I am seriously considering the newer, more intensive program, possibly in late fall. starbucksmom- want to thank you for sharing your experience!
  14. My daughter has never shown positive with quest/labcorp elisa and western blot. I stopped testing through them. She is usually positive with Igenex. There have been a few cycles where she goes negative and then back to positive. But there are a few bands consistently positive every time (like band 83-93). She also had a positive Advanced Borrelia culture in December of 2011, and again this month. We did have a positive RMSF (igg) through Quest and Bartonella through Quest Nicholas lab in CA.
  15. Hello. My daughter is scheduled to receive ivig with Dr. B on 8/6 and 8/7. Recently found out my mother needs heart bypass surgery and the hospital scheduled it around the same time. I am my mother's caregiver. I was wondering if anyone is scheduled to receive ivig with Dr. B the week of Aug 18th and wanted to switch dates. It would allow you to get the infusion done with more time before start of school. Also could probably do 8/25 & 26th, or 8/4 & 5th. I spoke with the infusion person(s) at the office and told them I was reaching out to see if someone was interested in changing. They had no problem with that. Please pm if this an option for you. Thanks!
  16. So happy for you and your family!!!
  17. We have been there twice since May (prior as well). They have an outside company on site that handles the insurance. We received coverage- but out of network.
  18. If you are receiving IVIG on 8/4-8/5 at Dr. B's office, can you send me a pm. Have a question to ask. Thanks.
  19. Before trying for approval, I would have the doctor run a sleuth of labs looking for any abnormal results that may help your case. If your child has had any reoccurring infections (sinus infections, pneumonia), have your family doctor forward a letter that she is not responding to treatment for the infections. It helped in our situation. edit- good luck with the new doctor!
  20. Does anyone prefer the synthroid over the Armour?
  21. Nancy- do you cut the 15mg pill in half for your daughter? Nancy- how long has your daughter been on the 7.5 dose and do you think you'll need to increase it?
