Hi we use the Jarrow Inositol Powder and it has no additives at all. It can be dissolved in a drink or just takenb straight as it has a powdered sugar taste and texture we buy the Jarrow Powdered Inositol at iHerb at low cost http://www.iherb.com/Jarrow-Formulas-Inosi...-227-g/126?at=0 If you are seeing the capsules at Wholefoods, then the silicone dioxide may refer to that little sachet that they put in the container to absorb moisture?? These are the capsules, where I see silicon dioxide listed in the ingredient list, so not sure if it is added into the capsule contents or shell, or refers to the moisture absorbing sachet?? http://www.iherb.com/Jarrow-Formulas-Inosi...e-Caps/192?at=0

we use primarily glass cookware (including the Visions stove top items) for those times when I need pan or pot, I use my enameled cookware as CP mentioned, iron cookware is good if you are ok with the iron leeching...that is good for people who need more iron but not for those who should avoid it Non stick cookware is IMHO dangerous in terms of the chemical toxins it leeches (lots of info on that) Aluminum leeches too and even "stainless steel" can sometimes be compounded with ick stuff I personally will not knowingly buy anything at all that comes from China as one just does not know what they have put in it, as it seems clear that even the label info on stuff made in China isnt always fully disclosing the contents

natural citric acid as in citrus fruits is different, but that used as an additive to foods is not usually from natural sources, but rather a man made chemical... however, people with Crohn's or other IBD avoid most citrus too sodium benzoate is a chemical preservative and as such people who have chemical sensitivity tend to react adversely to it in varied ways

Hi our "expert" parent on this topic was Claire, but things are going well and she is no longer posting (if you are reading....we miss you Claire! ) she really did a lot of checking into photosensitive induced tics if you do a search for the word screens and user name Claire and search posts and threads you should come up with quite a bit of info on this Plasma and big screens are a more recent addition so I am not sure if anyone has discussed them since. it has been quite a few years since Claire was posting about this we use daylight lamps in all rooms with screens to cut the flicker/flash effect plus LCD. my son's photosensitivity is mild tho, and he actually reacts more to fluorescent lights than to screens, albeit a darkened room and much flash and flicker (eg the cinema) does trigger his tics

Central figure in CDC vaccine cover-up absconds with $2M

more commentary on this scandal http://www.ageofautism.com/2010/03/rfk-jr-...ds-with-2m.html -
both theanine and ginseng increase dopamine, so that is likely why it triggered more tics! have you tried Bach's Rescue Remedy for stress? it is a herbal flower formula and my son has always found it very helpful. just a few drops under the tongue is enough. you can get it at health stores and least expensive at iherb.com chamomille tea is also very helpful

you may not find them tic triggers but also be careful of what they and the rest of the stuff in that can do to your GIT and rest of your system sodium benzoate and citric acid both trigger crohn's flares for my son

Central figure in CDC vaccine cover-up absconds with $2M
Chemar replied to CSP's topic in Tourette Syndrome and Tics
wow! that is huge!! maybe there will now be a deeper investigation into why the results were so in favor of no connection!! If he could steal that much money, who knows how he may have "fixed" his "research" results looks like you learned how to post a link CP thanks for the info!! -

On the front of the label: TONIC WATER: CONTAINS QUININE On the back of the label: Carbonated water High fructose corn syrup and/or sugar Citric acid Natural flavors sodium benzoate (preservative) Quinine Bottled under the authority of dr pepper/seven up, inc (oh wait that's not an ingredient, lol) It said on the wiki page that there's not much in tonic water, not even a medical dose I don't think. But we will see. If quinine works, you can get it in pills or injections or something. They treat some other condition with it. They come in glass bottles. Don't drop them! ;p Guy, if I were you I would not touch that stuff!!!! HFCS needs no further explanation...it is a poison! citric acid and sodium benzoate are chemically derived and can upset the GIT badly plus my son has found both are tic triggers for him natural flavors usually means they are hiding the fact that they have MSG or some other nasty in there

Hi Susie we have only ever used the magnesium and taurine separately so I dont have info for you on that have you tried calling the distributor for BonTech to see if they can answer that for you about their product? I think their phone # is on Bonnie's website http://www.bonniegr.com the cardiovascular research brand should also have a phone number on the label

Guy, could you post the list of ingredients in that tonic water?

Nerotransmitter Test-Has anyone done it?
Chemar replied to mar's topic in Tourette Syndrome and Tics
Not sure which tests by dr C that you are referring to if it is the CamKinase test that she does to try to determine if a patient may be PANDAS, then no, this is a completely different type of test and is specifically designed to measure the levels of the neurotransmitters in the brain, nothing to do with PANDAS -
sounds like that is why it helped your mom Fixit. I saw on that website I linked that it is also used for restless leg syndrome so same idea re the neuro-muscular relaxant properties very interesting multiple properties it seems to have but just a word of caution to those reading here....please do be very careful with quinine as too much of it is dangerous! Tonic water has tiny amounts in.

Guy ever since my son started an anti-inflammatory diet and supps for his Crohn's Disease, he also noticed it helps his tics and OCD as well, he feels likely an indirect result of the better condition of his GIT but I think likely that as well as damping other areas of inflammation too, possibly even the basal ganglia?

5 year old son with tics, don't know what to do
Chemar replied to michiganmom's topic in Tourette Syndrome and Tics
Hi yes untreated PANDAS can be very serious, depending on the severity of the symptoms etc The strep causes inflammation in the basal ganglia of the brain, amongst other things and some kids can have very extreme symptoms from that. It is treatable, initially usually antibiotics and sometimes also IVIG or PEX most conventional Doctors know virtually nothing about PANDAS and those that do know a little, often discount it. I would suggest you copy your last post here over onto the PANDAS forum for input from parents there here is a good site to learn more about PANDAS http://www.pandasnetwork.org -
Hi Mar you will find the testing info for pyroluria as well as the spectracell analysis for vitamins etc on the pinned helpful threads sticky thread http://www.latitudes.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=2459 It will be in the post linking Claire's testing 101 thread and also a later post with a link to the NeuroSciences site that does the neurotransmitter testing we never tested for neurotransmitters tho we did do spectracell and pyroluria and others

I have seen some reports on the TS/tics forum of the neurofeedback not having a good effect in some areas. I do think there is evidence suggesting it helps with ADHD, but it may not be beneficial if there are other comorbid conditions that may not respond positively to it.

well how interesting.....quinine also has anti-inflammatory properties! http://www.edinformatics.com/math_science/...ing/quinine.htm

just make sure the tonic water isnt spiked with HFCS!!!!!!!!!!!!
