tpotter Posted August 19, 2010 Report Posted August 19, 2010 We saw Dr. B. the other day, and I had him see both my boys and myself (I've had chronic asthma...uncontrolled for 3 years.) I'd been to 2 different allergist/immunologists here, and they supposedly checked me for everything. Then they'd tell me several things were not quite normal, but it couldn't be causing the problem. I got a call from Dr. B. just a few days later...I have m. pneum elevated IgM (over 1100). My response: "Well, I suppose that could be causing the problem." His response: "I would certainly think so." I'm now on azith. But, what really concerns me is that I have probably been giving it to my boys (they both have elevated M Pneum IgG, and their C3D immune complexes are quite high (DS14 = 82, and DS17 = 34, with 0-8 being normal.) I'm really upset with the docs here who couldn't find it! I told my DH that he has to be checked out by Dr. B., because he has RA, and none of the meds are working. His ASO was 220, which is slightly elevated, and I want Doc B. to see if he can figure any of this out. My DH is getting worse.
forjpj Posted August 19, 2010 Report Posted August 19, 2010 What a huge puzzle piece!! Hopefully, this is the key piece!!

T_Mom Posted August 19, 2010 Report Posted August 19, 2010 Tpotter--Oh my goodness--thank heavens you were checked as well!! Keep us posted as to how it goes now--and how YOU are! Best--Tmom
philamom Posted August 19, 2010 Report Posted August 19, 2010 I'm so glad it was a beneficial appointment! Yay!! Did you still move forward with Dr. L?
kimballot Posted August 19, 2010 Report Posted August 19, 2010 Isn't it funny how things have a way of working out? You would not have pursued Dr. B if your insurance would have worked the way you planned. ... now you've found a problem that can be fixed to help your entire family! I am so happy for you! Keep peeling away the layers of this onion... you will get to the root of the problems and fix them. I know you will!!
matis_mom Posted August 19, 2010 Report Posted August 19, 2010 So glad you found this! Best wishes that this will be the beginning of long-lasting recovery! Isabel
tpotter Posted August 19, 2010 Author Report Posted August 19, 2010 Yes it was definitely a beneficial appointment. Dr. L. didn't approve them for PEX. We're moving forward, hopefully with IVIG thrugh Dr. B.
