lisat Posted February 27, 2010 Report Posted February 27, 2010 Hello, I am glad to part of a forum with so much exp. with TICS. My son has general tic, no outbursts, etc...mostly face tics, or transfers to fingers rubbing together...I also had them as a child and occassionally come back We have done much research through years..most supplements only made things worse years ago..including Bontech supp...prob. the magnesium and B12 (magnesium always made it worse (assuming because it is a detoxer as well) We took him off everything for a couple of years. He has high histamine..so B-12 only makes tics worse, and so does fish oil....(if anyone wants the research on this for their own needs let me know)...he is on Methionine now to lower histamine My question today is why would a cal/mag supplement bring agitation, more intense and irritated, and pain in knees...that seems to happen everytime I start one...especailly liquid calcium.. (it could still be the magnesium)...Any ideas are welcome Thank you
Chemar Posted February 27, 2010 Report Posted February 27, 2010 Hi and welcome I would think the best way for you to approach this would be to have testing done to determine his baseline levels of the supps he reacts to

Chemar Posted February 28, 2010 Report Posted February 28, 2010 Fixit.. maybe I am misunderstanding what you are saying but.I totally disagree with that concept you get "die off" as well with antibiotics PLUS a whole lot of potential other long term stuff like mitochondrial damage etc. I was given clindamycin once and was sick for months and months from it! my son had a brief die off when we had him on the initial candida eradication diet and supps (about a week) and then was ok...so there is no "bucket dripping all his life" ?? in fact, whenever he now does the candida spit test he shows clear so his natural protocol is working, with no potentially dangerous side effects like with the heavy meds! dont forget when my son was first diagnosed we tried the "big guns" route with meds and ended up with more than we started with thanks to the horrible side effects re the testing for vitamins, minerals etc here is some helpful info from the sticky thread http://www.latitudes.org/forums/index.php?...55&hl=tests
Fixit Posted February 28, 2010 Report Posted February 28, 2010 what i'm asking is... she said that the b12 and mag are acting like a detox..don't you want that? Like when you are sick you have a feaver to sweat out the junk? I guess i was also trying to put it in terms of....instead of letting what ever is toxic in his body drip out..just dump the bucket and be done. Let the b12 and mag do its job things get worse before they get better analygy
Chemar Posted February 28, 2010 Report Posted February 28, 2010 sorry yes I did misunderstand what you were talking about as it sounded like you were suggesting that using natural means to detox was too slow and that one should instead use meds etc. I think what Lisa was saying was that her child has problems with some supps due to his specific underlying conditions eg the high histamine when those situations occur one does have to approach things more carefully IMO as trying to fix one thing can often aggravate another and so end up making things worse overall a step at a time is sometimes better than trying to run the mile in a minute!
lisat Posted February 28, 2010 Author Report Posted February 28, 2010 Yes, if the magnesium was detoxing I may ought to have stayed on it..but at that time I just did not know if I was making him worse...and it seemed so out of control...now the fact that Cal/mag supp. seems to bring pain in his knee or legs..is odd to me, so I was wondering if anyone had that experience. Also, the B-12 is not good for those with high histamine, neither is folic acid, choline, copper, or DMAE ..they also call it being under methylated....and when I read the articles on it, it gave alot of understanding as to why multivitamins just made things worse. So if anyone knows of a multi without these things that would be nice as well. Be blessed what i'm asking is...she said that the b12 and mag are acting like a detox..don't you want that? Like when you are sick you have a feaver to sweat out the junk?
