CSP
I just wanted to share some good news with you all. I remember thinking all the worst things one could think of when you hear the Dr. say your child has TS. For a lot of you have been with me for awhile and know my son was a bad case of TS, the screaming was almost unbearable. He has just turned 16yo and is able to join the volunteer fire dept. I kind of brushed him off for a long time when he said he wanted to do this I just thought the TS would hold him back. The fear of burning or something would change his mind. Well, he has completed the application and seems to really want to do this. I'm very proud of him and was shocked that he even put more effort in Spanish 3 to make sure he keeps a "C" avg. Spanish 3 seems to be the only one he was worried about. A man he knows through his martial arts class has talked to the fire Capt. and told him about my son and felt he would have no problem doing all the things other voluntees do. But he did ask for special help for him because of the TS. (we will see what that is) If you all could say a little prayer this is a lot of hard work and book learning I hope he does not give up. Just some good news out there for you moms and dads feeling low, God is good and taking care of this for me. CP
patty
CP, I am so proud of your son along w/you & your family & friends! Good for him that he doesn't see his TS stops him from what he wants to do. I think that is every parents' fear that TS would stop their child from growing. I believe that if your son does not see TS as a disability, others will too! Pat

ilovedogs
Oh, that is so cool! It's amazing how our kids grow up and develop their own ideas, goals, and dreams! He's got great parents behind him and that has given him the confidence to do this, congratulations!
