lfran
I have a family member who is a research scientist. One of his colleagues is currently investigating fish oil -- not for TS, but for other purposes. I mentioned how so many of the people on this board do worse on fish oil and better on flaxseed oil. We thought it would be interesting (and a possible research topic) to investigate this. Soo.... Can I have a quick count of how many people 1) Do better on fish oil 2) Do worse on fish oil and didn't try an alternative 3) Do worse on fish oil and flaxseed oil 4) Do better on flaxseed oil -- never tried fish oil 5) Do worse on fish oil and better on flaxseed oil. Thanks! (Also, please give the gender and age of the person involved). For instance, I would answer: Male, age 6, #5. (Also, is there any way to set up an actual "poll" on a topic? Yahoo groups lets you, but I don't know how to do it here. -- Liane
peglem
Female, age 13, #2. But, it didn't make tics or OCD worse- just mood because FO made her gassy and uncomfortable.
faith
male, age 9 -- #5 but do not currently use flaxoil either due to Igg showing high sensitivity to flax last year, so havn't tried to re-introduce.
emma1
I have introduced fish oil twice (at least) and have decided not to give as I believe it does make symptoms worse (though I could be wrong). Interestingly, my daughter was on fish oil at a reasonably high dose when she started all this -- so it does make me wonder how it helps the immune system as my daughter had strep and then had the relatively rare PANDAS-like reaction while regularly taking fish oil supplements. Greyhound
Ifran tried to start a poll ( http://www.latitudes.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=3603 ) but didn't know how to use the forum's poll feature, so I thought I'd try and help by setting one up here. Feel free to ignore or delete it if it's not what you want or if you no longer need it
