itsme
Magnesium Taurate is supposedly one of the most absorbable forms of magnesium. We've used it with the "Bontech" sups (that is, it is already in the sups) and have had good success.
patty
Just want to add that magnesium oxide is not bioavaible although it is easy to find. Magnesium citrate is also very absorbable. Patty
Chemar
Lisa magnesium taurate is often preferred by people who have Tourette Syndrome as it is a compounded form of magnesium and the amino acid, taurine, both of which are generally beneficial for TS and yes, magnesium oxide is very poorly absorbed apparently magnesium lactate is one of the best absorbed forms.... tho many are reporting good results with natural calm magnesium salts which I believe is magnesium citrate
Mike
For those of you who have seen benefits from magnesium, what dosages are you using? Are we talking 100% , 200%-300% of RDA? I am willing to try it to see if it helps my 10 yr old who still has the neck snapping tic. Just want to be sure it is a safe level.
Caryn
Mike, In the very beginning we tried doing just a magnesium supplement, but for us that wasn't enough. I think it is also important to include vitamin B6. Here is a web site I found on the subject. http://www.bio.net/bionet/mm/neur-sci/1996...ary/022416.html It is fairly dated, but I know that the b vitamins are very good for neurological health (and a whole lot of other stuff.) We use Bontech ourselves, and the doses for magnesium are 75% of DV in 300 mg. The B6 dose is 50mg, and 2,500% of DV. Hope this helps.
