Guest Posted February 2, 2007 Report Posted February 2, 2007 Hi Everyone, I just wanted to share a story of a conversation that went on today to encourage others. At work today another daycare teacher and I were talking in our room about traveling. We were talking about our trips to Florida, and I was asked why I've been to Florida so much. I explained about the allergy treatments and of course that brought up the question as to why I go to Florida for allergy treatments. I hesitantly shared that I had Tourette Syndrome with the other teacher scared of what she might say. I've been working multiple hours with this daycare teacher for the past three months. Her response was what are your symptoms. She had never noticed any tics. I was surprised at her response of not ever noticing any tics. The teacher has known a couple of others with TS also. I'm one that before natural treatments, everyone would have noticed my tics within 10 seconds of being with me. This conversation made me really happy to know that after three months a coworker of mine hasn't ever noticed my tics. I'm not a tic suppressor either and yes, I do still tic. Anyways I hope this encourages those of you just getting started on this path or those that have been there for a while and still haven't found the right treatments for your children or you. Carolyn
patty Posted February 2, 2007 Report Posted February 2, 2007 Carolyn, Thx for sharing your story. All your hard work is paying off. I am happy for you. Patty
Chemar Posted February 2, 2007 Report Posted February 2, 2007 that is really encouraging to hear Carolyn! I am so pleased for you. Thanks for sharing and I too hope this will bring hope to many worried parents.
faith Posted February 2, 2007 Report Posted February 2, 2007 I love that Carolyn. My feeling has always been why do our kids have to have their symptoms on display for everyone. People with other ailments, disorders, no one would know their business. You know what I mean. So that's so hopeful to me. I pray we can get to that place....faith.
