Pertussis booster? (Tdap)

Recommended Posts

Hey Fixit! Been thinking about you. Hope things are okay there.

On the flip side of the "vaccines" coin, my poor boy is in bed, since Monday, because I chose not to vaccinate for flu. He's now getting the flu "pink eye" and really scared that he's getting worse. Fever is finally down, but the cough is there and basic feeling horrible. The thought of him getting whooping cough now, should he be exposed here, gosh, that's a tough decision. Is there REALLY a recommendation to avoid immunizations within 6 months of IVIG?

Virtually anyone can flip it over and sign in the space that says I don't want it. It doesn't even say religious (at least not in California) it says - personal..I have NO PROBLEM flipping it over and signing it. Doesn't get any more personal.

It also says that in the case of whooping cough outbreak in the community or at school - your child may (read WILL) not be allowed to come to school. I'd agree with THAT - certainly don't want him to get whooping cough, that would be worse than the shot, or spreading it (10 kids dies last year in a handful of communities that had whooping cough outbreak).

ALSO - if your child has mycoplasma - you should REALLY research this. mycoplasma is a VERY common contaminate in vaccines. Does anyone remember Gulf War Syndrome? Do you remember that it was found to be - chronic mycoplasma infection? One theory is that these soldiers were all given multiple vaccines before being deployed. Oh, and the fact that 75% of the babies born to soldiers that developed GWS had autism? The babies - also got multiple vaccines - also were exposed to mycoplasma (thru parents). The microbiologist that discovered this says he thinks its somehow related to getting the multiple vaccines - not a single vaccine - in conjunction with exposure. In the soldiers he thinks the problem could have been exposure to weaponized mcypoplasma (not a contaminant in the vaccine), plus the multiple vaccines does something to the immune system. But that's a theory. You can watch some of his videos at immed.org

here is the video on mycoplasma. http://video.aol.com/video-detail/mycoplasma-prof-garth-nicolson/62865143

This video was given at some conference that involved military personnel and vets I think, so you have to take that into consideration when watching, but the info in there is good. He was a presenter at the last Autism One conference. I got his name from a parent that sat through his presentation there.

I have some input to the Whooping Cough thing. Both my boys contracted Pertussis (whopping cough) 2 summers ago. They had both received full vaccination for it as infants. The illness was not near as bad as my older sons reaction to his kindergarten shots. Yes, the coughing sucks, but, the PANDAS symptoms from his k-shots were worse. Combine Pertussis with Diptheria and Tetanus in the shot (as well as all the other junk in there)...well, you are getting much more

insult to your child's immune system than natural Pertussis causes. Plus, the shots didn't even provide them immunity to Pertussis! (they do have immunity to tetanus and diptheria though) As far as the children who died (which is tragic no matter what).... those are infants. Infants are the ones who are most at risk for serious consequences of pertussis, and the vaccine is mostly designed for them....children and adults, well, it is mainly just a big nusiance with no lasting or serious consequences.(My Dad got it too from the kids while he was visiting from Fla.)

Personally, having gone through it...I'd easily take Pertussis (and the flu) over what the shots do to my PANDAS kids.

DC Mom, thanks for asking about my son. I will try to post an update some time in the next few weeks. He had a setback over the summer and things were rough for awhile, but we have been seeing some improvements again in focus and mood over the last couple of months. When I have time, I'll post specifics about what I think may be helping.

Phasmid, so sorry to hear that your son has the flu. Decisions about vaccinations are alway so difficult, and the problem is that there are risks no matter which way you go. After my son's terrible experience following the Chicken Pox and Hep A Vaccines, we stopped flu shots for everyone in the family and fortunately nobody has contracted it. I do keep oscillococcinum in my medicine cabinet just in case. I have never had to use it, but it is supposed to be helpful with flu symptoms. I hope your son feels better soon.

If you go the the websites that are treating with IVIG (CVID, PID), you will find resources stating not to vaccinate within 3,6 months to a year within IVIG.
