cobbiemommy Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 (edited) Yesterday, took DS, 11, to LLMD for second follow up. She thinks he is doing much better and I agree! His arms, legs, and torso are covered in a rash, which is actually good news. She and her nurse noticed two classic bullseyes. Also, she thought his cognition was much better. He will stay on this same antibiotic regimen until the middle of February, when we change to go after the Babesia. He was the only child in either fifth grade class to get 100% on not one, but two math tests!! Brag, brag! The best part of it is this! His liver enzymes are back within the normal range!! All of the cost, administering meds every few hours, gluten free at home, and drinking tons of water is paying off. I am over the moon. In her office, she had various pictures that patients had sent to her. One is of a beautiful girl that plays NCAA basketball. That gave me so much hope for the future, that my son will be whole and hearty in a years time. He may never play NCAA basketball, but whatever he wants to try, he'll be healthy. Thank you to all of the moms and dads on this (and the PANDAS) forum. You spurred me on to keep looking for the reason my son did not do well after HD IVIG. Merry Christmas to all! Many thanks, Cobbie Edited December 16, 2010 by cobbiemommy
Suzan Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 (edited) Excellent, wonderful, Yay! Great update, great news all around! Susan PS... I have to say, I too am grateful for the parents and pandas forum who pushed us to test. My children have not started lyme treatment yet but I have and I am doing SO MUCH better. If it were not for my pandas journey, I would not have been diagnosed myself. I keep saying that but I can't help it Edited December 16, 2010 by Suzan
sf_mom Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 (edited) I just want to jump for joy!!!!!!!!! When you originally posted your son results... it almost took my breath away by the number of co-infections. I am relieved he is making marked improvement. BY THE WAY, we have two kids with rashes that are slowly fading. It is like watching a pool fill up with water one drip at a time but we have progress. Slow and steady wins that race. NEXT YEAR this time 'party' when all our kids are well. -Wendy Edited December 16, 2010 by SF Mom

PacificMama Posted December 17, 2010 Report Posted December 17, 2010 Cobbie, That's wonderful news... just in time for the holidays! So glad to hear of your son's progress. And yes, it's nice to hear the success stories about the other kids who are doing great after their treatment. Mary
cobbiemommy Posted December 17, 2010 Author Report Posted December 17, 2010 Thank you for all of your good wishes. Now, the next key is not to get complacent! It is still time to strictly adhere to the medication schedule and keep drinking gallons of water. I could feel myself starting to relax about the schedule and timing, have to stick with it. What a good problem to have! Cobbie
