It *is* hard to tell this from PANDAS! Do you know if Tenex (guanfacine) can do this as well, or does that not affect the serotonin? We had tried zoloft which seemed to do that, but haven't tried prozac. Might be worth a try for us. Ok guess what the psy prescribed LEXAPRO oh well he was on lexapro years ago and did ok so the md thought that would be a good place to start I dod put him on a gluten free diet this week and its not as hard as I thought its a little expensive because Im lazy and im buying pre done foods maybe if we stay on it ill learn to cook (maybe not) she prescribed 5mg should I try it? should I try something else any suggestions

Put on your tinfoil hats - Nystatin "cures" TS?
melanie replied to guy123's topic in Tourette Syndrome and Tics
what did you switch to he takes nystatin ketoconazole was used on two different treatment bouts with time off in between to kill enough yeast so the nystatin could then work. Probiotic is also used as well as other factors in the treatment plan. Every child could be different so I am not providing a model just an example. My husband has tina versicolor Its a skin fungus I wonder if it has anything to do with yeast Danny also has athletes food treated and gone but hummm -

How did it go for you? We own a half share in a chamber and use it for my son with autism. He did WONDERFUL in it until his PANDAS diagnosis. We get the chamber every 2 months. The first turn after his PANDAS diagnosis he started with bad vocal tics a week after we started the chamber so we stopped not knowing if the chamber was the problem since other changes were going on. We didn't use it for the rest of our turn. When we got it back again a few months later, same thing, and most recently at our turn in November, within a week the vocal tics and screaming went haywire after just 2 dives. Our DAN doctor has told us to put HBOT on hold indefinately as strep is an aerobic bacteria and thrives in high oxygen environments, which explains why my son had a huge flare every time we tried to start a series of 40 dives. I hate that we can't use it because he did so well with it for almost 2 years before PANDAS came in the picture we never went through with the chamber because of the pandas but the same dr who treats for pandas also rents the chamber so I kindof feel theres a conflict believe me if i knew it would help with the symptoms i would sell my house to buy one any way i couldnt find anyone who said to do it so we are putting oot on hold thats interesting about the symptoms getting worse

Problems with risperdal and natural calm(magnesium)

So if someone got tics after taking a med can it be reversed ? Should I use E? pleas respond!! -
My daughter is on prophilactic abx. Lamictal is famous for keeping people up at night. I give her evening dose early in the evening for this reason. Also give melatonin and valerian at bedtime. Even so, last week she had terrible issues with night waking...resolvd by increasing CLO. Do you think the Lamictal is responsible for the nightmares or strep or something else? We got the chronic strep under control before we tried Lamictal. Sure hope the field trip goes well for your daughter. The rages can be so much worse in a public place, the "normal" ways of dealing with them aren't available in those settings. The nigtmares definitely appeared to be linked to the Lamictal. Since having split the dosage, they've decreased significantly. She's back to her normal routine of sleeping through the night. It's probably too early to know for sure that we're out of the woods with the nightmares though. Sabrina doesn't appear to have strep the way she did. In fact, it's been a long time since she's had a positive test result. So it's possible that it's all still flying under the radar in the guise of the elevated (but not as high as it used to be) ASO/Titers levels. Those never really got into the 'normal' range. We had a tough weekend - no major rages, but just a lot of defiance. Nothing we can't live with, but it gets tiresome after all the tug of war episodes. Luckily she did really great on the field trip - I'm not certain if we have the Lamictal to thank for that or not. I still haven't warmed up to the idea of having her on psychitropic meds. Sabrina has an appointment with the psychiatrist in two weeks, followed by a first time visit with an immunologist. I'm certain she'll want to take blood. I don't know about all the other parents, but I absolutely loathe subjecting her to all of these blood tests. Poor thing. It breaks my heart that she's experiencing stuff that any "normal" kid wouldn't have to experience until much later in life. ((sigh)) I'll keep ya'll posted. My son tried lamictial got a rash and threw up we were told hes probably allergic we tried trileptial same results (simular drug)related somehow I dont think its a psychitropic good luck the dr will try another one

His rash was not bumpy it was on his chest and on his hands it wasnt itchy I dont think because he wasnt itching it He was very aggitated For the life of me I can't come up with which of those ingredients gave me a bit of concern, especially since Candida Clear is not something that you really stay on long term. I do want to leave this here for others review though. I get concerned when drugs are being used that can be so touchy with variation in absorbtion. This list may not be complete. Read site for more info and disclaimer. why? http://www.mskcc.org/mskcc/html/11917.cfm 5. Do any botanicals interfere with the metabolism of drugs? To maintain the proper metabolism of certain drugs by cytochrome p450 (a liver enzyme), patients should discontinue use of the following agents. Increased metabolism of a drug reduces its concentration in the blood and may reduce its effectiveness. Decreased metabolism of a drug increases its concentration in the blood and can lead to toxicity or increased side effects. Essiac: A case of decreased clearance (removal from the blood) of an experimental chemotherapy is reported in a single patient taking Essiac. This may be due to inhibition of cytochrome p450 isoenzymes, hindering their ability to metabolize the chemotherapy agent. Garlic: May induce the cytochrome p450 3A4 isoenzyme, resulting in enhanced metabolism (and decreased effectiveness) of certain drugs. Ginkgo: Preliminary evidence suggests that ginkgo can affect the cytochrome enzymes 1A2, 2D6, and 3A4. However, data are controversial regarding whether ginkgo induces or inhibits individual enzymes. Ginseng (Siberian): Inhibits metabolism of certain medications, leading to higher medication levels in the blood, possibly by inhibition of cytochrome p450 2C19. Goldenseal: May inhibit the 3A4 isoenzyme resulting in increased blood levels of certain medications. Milk Thistle: Inhibits cytochrome P-450 3A4. Although no interactions have been reported, inhibition of drug metabolism may occur for several constituents (e.g. ketoconazole, itraconazole, erythromycin, triazolam). St. John's Wort: Induces cytochrome isoenzyme 3A4, enhancing metabolism of certain medications and reducing their concentration in the blood. Turmeric: In vitro studies indicate inhibition of cytochrome P450 1A1, which may result in increased blood levels of certain medications. His rash was not bumpy it was on his chest and on his hands it wasnt itchy I dont think because he wasnt itching it He was very aggitated it lastedabout 2 days I took him to the hyospital I wasnt sure if it was an allergic reaction
