  1. Hi, We use Magnesium Taurine by Cardiovascular Research. I've only found it in the Vitamin Shoppe. We use 500mg for my 10 year old.
  2. Hi, Has he been playing video games or watching TV more than usual? Try eliminating all screen time for about a week. We use Mag Taurine, maybe you can give that instead of the Kid's Calm, because it has magnesium and taurine in one. You can open it up and add it to juice. Jane What brand of the Magnesium taurate do you use and what is the dose? We use Magnesium Taurate made by Cardiovascular Research. I have only been able to find it at the Vitamin Shoppe and online. http://www.vitaminshoppe.com/store/en/browse/sku_detail.jsp?id=CV-1206 We are currently doing 250mg in the morning, and 125 at night. In the morning I also give him calcium with it other wise his stool gets runny.

  4. Hi, Would you mind sharing which homeopathic nasal spray you use? My son is on Flonase, and I really don't like him taking it. I've tried several natural remedies at this point but he's still very congested at night. Thanks for your help.
  5. Hi, My son is nine, and he's about 67lbs. We use 500mg of Mag/Taurine from Cardiovascular Research. I break this up to 250mg in the morning and 250 in the evening. When I tried cutting back, I saw some of the ticcing come back. For now, I'm not going to try and cut back especially with the summer coming and the pool/chlorine issues. Hope this helps. Jane
  6. Hi there, No, I never did try it. Right now we are doing the other supplements that people have recommended. The magnesium, zinc, calcium, Omega 3-6-9 and Niacin. I've been reading the posts regarding the Intrakid, and that sounds good. I just don't feel comfortable giving up all these supplements, and just using that one product. However, I do like the idea of giving just one thing in a liquid form. It would make things much easier. Jane
  7. I'm the same way. I always say "I" or "we". I KNOW I'm obsessed!
  8. My son does this as well. I'm just not sure if it's a tic or a cold. Luckily it's not too bothersome. As soon as he does something several times, I jump the gun and think it's a tic. I think I need to get a hold of myself before I loose it.
  9. I give my son 500mg.
  10. You can buy that paint, and tint it to any color you want. They sell pain tints in little tubes.
  11. We had the same thing happen last spring. We painted and wallpapered his room, and the nose tic came back. But he also had more screen time, so I wasn't sure which it was. But now that you say it too, I think it was the paint more than the screen time.
  12. Hi, My son also picks on his fingers, but I think it's more of a bad habit than a tic. I also pick at my fingers especially when I'm nervous. My husband used to bite his nails really badly when he was a kid. Sometimes it's hard to tell what's a tic or a bad habit. I'd like to think this is a bad habit.
  13. Hi, I give him 500mg, I found that if I try to decrease it, the nose twitch comes back.
  14. Hi, My son has the nose twitches. I would say that the magnesium taurate has the greatest benefit for us.
  15. Hi Michele, My son is allergic to fish, so I buy an Omega 3-6-9 oil made form Flax, borage, and evening primrose at the Vitamin Shoppe. He swallows it really quickly and then has a gulp of juice to chase it.
  16. From what I understand, it's the best form of magnesium. Chemar suggested it, and I can only find it at the Vitamin Shoppe. It's made by Cardiovascular Research. http://www.vitaminshoppe.com/store/en/brow....jsp?id=CV-1206 I don't think it comes in liquid. My son is a gagger, but I can open these up and put the powder into juice and he drinks it thru a thick straw. I don't think you can get it in liquid, I tried. I use the Omegas from flax seed because my son is allergic to seafood and certain fish so I was afraid to use the fish oil. Also from what I've been reading on these posts, fish oil while very good for some, can aggravate tics in others. I felt safer going with the flax seed. I also get this at the Vitamin Shoppe, its Omega 3-6-9 with evening primrose oil. It smells like sesame seeds. My son takes a spoonful and uses juice to chase it down.
  17. Hi there, My son started with eye blinking as well around 5, he is now 9. I know that TV/Screen time is a big issue for him. He is begging for a Playstation or Wii. I know I can't give in and get it for him, because he can't handle all that screen time. Like your son, he is a gagger. I give him supplements in capsule form. I open them up, and put them in a small amount of juice and shake vigorously. He then drinks it with a large straw (I took took a bunch from D&D : -) ). I also give the Omega 3-6-9, but from flax seed in a liquid form. He took had a throat clearing tic that got much better when I added Magnesium taurate. good luck! Janey
  18. Hello, I have also found a homeopathic cold remedy that seems to work really well. It's called Nature's Way Umcka ColdCare. I ordered it, and a lot of other supplements thru Vitacost. It's half the price of the Vitamin Shoppe. Shipping is $4.99 no matter how large your order is. The remedy is a pleasant cherry flavor with no artificial anything.
  19. Thanks, it's worth a try!
  20. Thanks for the info. Did it work?
  21. My son has come down with a cold and cough. All the over the counter medicine has dyes and other junk that I don't want him taking. Has anyone had success with some herbal/homeopathic medicine? Thank you
  22. Hi Tlk, I'm not sure that my immune issues had anything to do with my son's tics. I had a mild form of OCD as a child, and my husband exhibits minor OCD tendencies. So if anything, I'm thinking it's genetic. It's an interesting theory, however. My son's tics came on slowly after being exposed to numerous hours of Television while at a baby sitter. He developed an eye blinking tic. After taking away the electronics for a month, the tic went away. Several years later he developed a nose twitch after having a stressful day at school. It seems that stress brings on the tics, and screen time makes it worse. He had a throat clearing tic, which seemed to go away overnight after starting him on Magnesium Taurate. Have you tried that? Have you tried to contact Alpha Theraputics in CA? Best wishes, Janey
  23. Hi there, I used IVIG treatments during my pregnancy with my son. I had a problem with my immune system that would attack the fetus when I became pregnant. I found a doctor, Doctor Beer (who is now retired) that recommended that I have IVIG treatments before getting pregnant, and then 5 or 6 times during the pregnancy. I got my IVIG infusions sent to me on dry ice from Alpha Therapeutics in California. At the time, they were charging $1,200 per shipment. I then took it to my infertility clinic where a nurse would infuse me with it. This was over nine years ago, but I know that they are still very much around. You would need a doctor to call in a prescription into them. Then a coordinator contacts you to set up ship dates/payment options. I'm sure they can ship anywhere. I found this was the best way to get them. I hope this helps. Janey
