  1. When kiddo does this it is usually referred to as tactile touching (if I remember correctly). It is lumped into a bunch of Sensory Integration Disorder issues, but it may also stem from anxiety. Vayarin Is prescription Omega 3's: http://vayarinflipsthescript.vayapharma.com/#top
  2. I have seen this herb mentioned several times on here, but in searching, I did not find dosage given. I did two caps mentioned and double dose mentioned on another post. What I have is Solvay's triple strength Resveratrol which has 225mg Japanese Knotweed per capsule. I am curious at what milligrams you all have seen this work? Also, how often do you all give this? Just as needed or regularly?
  3. Are they retesting after each antibiotic course to make sure the strep is gone? You may be dealing with 2 months of constant strep, not 4 different episodes. Unless they test, you will have no idea if the strep is cleared. My daughter had strep for almost 60 days in Jan 2012 to March 2012. We tested after every round of abx, and she was still positive until almost 60 days in. Then we started getting negative rapids and cultures.
  4. This link has a lot of doctors that are PANDAS/PANS friendly/knowledgeable. There are none in Michigan, but many people travel to see a good doctor. http://pandasnetwork.org/resources/providers/provider-list/#MICHIGAN
  5. This site has a lot of links about Hemp. I'm sorry I don't have time to go through them to see what is there but there may be some information that is helpful. I've been using bronner's soap, and I love it. https://www.drbronner.com/impact/activism/hemp/ I'm also so glad everyone is seeing results. Please keep us posted. We're about ready to try an SSRI for the underlying anxiety, but I might consider this first. Thank you for the link. It appears that growing hemp is legal in the US as long as it is not commercially sold. Many are trying to change the laws right now, but of course they may never change. Cannabis growth and sale is legal in some states, but is still, and may always be federally illegal as well. Who know what time will change.

  7. Mayzoo, Hemp and Marijuana are quite different. Hemp has no THC and is totally legal to buy (but not to grow as far as I know since it looks just like marijuana and would make DEA job harder I think). Go into a health food store- you'll find hemp nuts and hemp oil, and maybe even clothing made of hemp fabric. My concern is that this company states their product is grown and processed in America. If it is cannibis derived, then it would be illegal for me purchase in my state. If it is made from Hemp, it appears it is illegal for me to buy it since, as far as I can tell, it is illegal to commercially grow hemp in the US at this time. You can privately grow hemp, but it is not legal to sell said hemp or hemp derived products grown in the US so far as I can tell. Hemp products grown out of our country can be sold in the US since they were not illegally grown. Hemp products themselves are not illegal to purchase in the US; however, I think it is illegal to commercial grown hemp in the US. The CBD oil (hemp oil) we currently purchase is grown and processed outside the US and shipped in. The company has not answered me yet as to which product they us to make their product, so until they do so, my speculation is a mute point anyway.
  8. I am wondering if our kits are just picking up the normal strep bacteria found on the teeth responsible for decay and plaque, streptococcous mutans, rather than true strep A. I guess I will have to read my kit again to see what it is sensitive too. http://www.textbookofbacteriology.net/normalflora_5.html
  9. You can get xyliwhite toothpaste at amazon.com. They make a xylitol based mouth wash as well available at amazon also. The chlorhexidine mouth wash is by prescription only, and the brand name is Peridex.
  10. Adding that lysine at 3ish today tipped her over the edge to a herx style reaction. She had been on the antiviral protocol since Sunday, but 2 hours after the lysine, her vocal tic came on strong and she was upset. Another hour or so after charcoal and she was better again.
  11. You might want to throw in an extra of just a swabbing of their teeth as well. I did my check lesion first, then did my teeth next.
  12. I guess we are going back to the xyliwhite toothpaste as well as chlorhexidine rinsing.
  13. I was researching other CBD sources and came across one that says it is made in the USA, BUT it states it is legal in all 50 states. Is this possible? 1. Hemp is not legal in any of the 50 states, so far as I know. 2. Cannabis/Cannatonic are only fully legal in a few states, and medically legal in a dozen or so more. 3. My state allows no form of Cannabis/Cannatonic period. This CBD oil must be made from Cannabis/Cannatonic for it to be legal in some states, since hemp is illegal in all states. Since Cannabis products are completely illegal in my state, how can this be legal in my state? More asking out loud than anything. I would ask the company this directly, but it would not surprise me if they lied to me to promote their product . That I cannot afford. I sent a question in to them asking which of the three products they make the CBD oil from. I guess I will go from there. I cannot afford to do anything remotely illegal. ETA: Is growing hemp in the USA illegal? I had always heard it was, but now as I research this, I am unclear...... If I find a clear answer, I will post back. Research never ends......................
  14. T/A last year in Feb. Kiddo's tooth swab (at home) was faintly positive. I get lesions in my mouth (not canker sore, long lesions. Stress the dentist says) and a direct swab on one of those was negative. I am testing my teeth now. Neither of us has a sore or red throat right now, so I have not tested our throats lately. Maybe I should test hers again . My tooth swab was faintly positive as well. How much of this can be attributed to "strep bacteria are everywhere"? I have often thought the lesions in my mouth were yeast related, but after further thought after reading this and the other thread, a day or two of Chlorhexidine always clears them up in the past. An antibacterial would likely not clear up yeast (I spend so little time thinking about my little issues in comparison to kiddos issues), so my lesions must be bacteria related, and now a faint positive for strep...................hmmmmm.
  15. I will add the l-lysine back in with all the other stuff *sigh*. I have a couch kid right now unless I make her go outside. Clearly, her blood work shows she is a viral kid. I took her off it after a short stint about a year ago, and now I do not recall why . LLM, any brand recommendations? We have the Now brand, 1000mg which I break in half. Kiddo is 12 and about 75lbs.
  16. We are using a slightly modified Buhner antiviral protocol for EBV. Kiddo is pretty high in EBV, HHV-6, and her Varicella titers are very high. Doc is researching Valcye to see if it is a good fit for kiddo.
  17. We use diflucan 100mg once a week, Bio-enhanced curcumin 750mg twice a day, Sacc B, probiotics and prebiotics daily. We try to get milk kefir in a few times a week as well (both good probiotic and yeasts).
  18. After reading the reviews on Amazon, one person gave it a 1 star because he sated he had an allergic reaction, another because it did not cure their leukemia, another tried it for severe back pain and felt for the price it was not as helpful as he wanted, another because it did not work as well as cannabis for his anxiety, and the last person is upset because of the strength it comes in vs the price (same as the others I have researched). The two star person also was looking for severe pain relief, and the three star person wanted it to cure their cancer. We did not have any cannabis experience, so no let down comparison there. We did not have unrealistic expectations such as curing cancer or easing debilitating pain. We have mild to moderate anxiety and inflammation issues. So far it has worked just as effectively as bluebird's bottle did.
  19. I read the reviews off a CFS/ME forum, and everyone on there was thrilled with it. We are trying a bottle of it now, and it is going quite well. I have seen no difference between it and the bluebird product. Thanks for your concern .
  20. On amazon, the Cibdex 2oz 500mg bottle price fluctuates between a sale price of 99.00 to the normal price 160.00 (I have amazon prime so my prices may be slightly different if you do not).
  21. Well the party was loud and a success. We had about 40 people here. I had to track my kiddo down ALL day and evening long. She did not hang with me at all! She was outside most the day following the other kids around and trying to participate with what they were doing, including badminton. She sat on people's laps and generally socialized (in her way) with lots of people. I was told by numerous people how much better she did this party as opposed to last year. She watched the fireworks show, not even sitting with me, and was excited and happy the whole time. Not one incidence of upsets all day, and she never put in her earplugs during the fireworks. This stuff is expensive, but it is still a winner in my book.
  22. She is still doing pretty well right now. I am thrilled since I have tried numerous items to pull her out of what she calls "the upsets". I have tried various herbal "stress" remedies, herbal "sleep" remedies, melatonin, motrin, benadryl, extra dose of curcumin, naps, Klonopin, all the way up to Zyprexa. Some make her sleepy enough to rest, but then the upsets are back when she wakes up. The rest seemingly do little to help. So far, CBD oil has been a "magic" bullet for the "upsets." Time will tell how long or how often this can pull her out of the "upsets."
  23. My kiddo is still doing well on this. It is not a miracle, but it is definitely helping. Today, we are in a minor flare/herxing (started an antiviral protocol). We have a party planned for this weekend that kiddo has been looking forward for over a month. I thought I would try almost a double dose (25 drops) of the CBD oil to see if it helped her. She was laying on the couch crying, upset, and her vocal tic was in full force. About 15-20 min after the dose, she is sitting upright and walking around some, playing on her Galaxy tablet, and the vocal tic is gone. She is smiling, and doing very well right now.
  24. An HSA account with a debit card is one way I can think of that you can get a 0%. If you have very good to great credit and a credit card already, you can request/use a "balance transfer checks" to pay the medical bill and get 0% for up to 18 months to pay it off. There is usually a 3% fee on whatever the total initial charge is, and if you do not pay it off within the time frame, you will be charged back interest. The other way, of course, is to pay off the credit card every month regardless of the balance. If you do this, any credit card will do.
  25. We tried low does zoloft, with minimal improvements, but no real negatives that I am aware of. We moved onto to lemon balm 500mg three times a day since it worked better for our kiddo and has a lower side effect profile. I would definitely go with prophylactic abx for now, even if only to lower risk of future infections. Yes, they do reduce inflammation as well.
