philamom Posted September 3, 2010 Report Posted September 3, 2010 (edited) I've been away since the start of this forum and was curious who has a diagnosis (or possible diagnosis) of Lyme by testing or an LLMD. Could you post who in your family has lyme and how it was determined (Igenex,Lab Corp,LLMD...exc). My dd9 has a positive Igenex IgM test (positive 31, 41, 58 / double positive 83-93 / indeterminate 34, 39) and positive Igenex IFA (1:80 titer). Edited September 3, 2010 by philamom
KeithandElizabeth Posted September 3, 2010 Report Posted September 3, 2010 Both my 11 year old daughter and 8 year old son have lyme disease. We used IGENEX. My husband and I are supposedly negative for lyme, although I did have an IND result on my IGG 31 and 34 bands. Elizabeth
H Mom Posted September 3, 2010 Report Posted September 3, 2010 My 13 year old daughter and 15 year old son were both recently diagnosed with lyme. The original lab work was western blot through Lab Corp. The Dx was confirmed with Dr. Jones. Dr. Jones is doing further lab work with Igenex. I did Igenex on Tuesday and am waiting for results.
MichaelTampa Posted September 3, 2010 Report Posted September 3, 2010 I was diagnosed with Lyme by an LLMD. I had a very low LabCorp CD57 score of 30; IGeneX western blot was positive band 41 and IND band 39 and negative everything else; IGeneX tests for coinfections and lyme with antibodies were all negative; LabCorp ELISA negative for lyme; and plenty of otherwise unexplained neurological/psychiatric symptoms.
P_Mom Posted September 3, 2010 Report Posted September 3, 2010 2 years ago, I had a positive Elisa of 1.18 and a positive western blot IGM bands 41, 23, and 39 reactive. Completely negative western blot IGG. (Lab. Corp.) Docs are still on the fence and at odds as to whether I had/have Lyme because of the duration of my illness and my totally negative IGG when I was at my worst...I'll never no for sure. Today, my Elisa is negative and so is my western blot...only IGG band 41 present. (Lab. Corp.) My boys have been testd a couple of times through Leb. Corp. also. Both showing negative Elisa and negative western blots with only band 41 present....41 IGG for older son...Band 41 IGM and IGG for younger son.
PacificMama Posted September 4, 2010 Report Posted September 4, 2010 My dd (now 8) positive for lyme at age 3 via Igenex (7 bands total), labcorp, and another lab (MDL I think). Indeterminate to mildly positive for Bartonella, but was always treated as if she had it (had some symptoms for it as well). I'm awaiting test results for my younger (5) dd as well. Needing to rule it out, as she is mildly symptomatic of something.
JTs-Mom Posted September 4, 2010 Report Posted September 4, 2010 My son tested IGG positive through IGeneX (30+, 31+, 34+, 39 IND, 41+++, 58+). He also tested positive on the 31 kda epitope test through IGeneX. (For those unfamiliar with this, it is the test that confirms whether your result at band 31 is due to borrelia or possibly due to cross-reactivity with some sort of virus.) My son had two tick bites in May '08, with one being a nymph that was attached for 3-4 days. He developed a red spot at the site of the bite that persisted for several weeks. He was improperly treated by his pediatrician after the tick bites (wrong antibiotic). His neurological symptoms (motor tics) developed 6 months later. He has been diagnosed with neuroborreliosis by an LLMD. Lyme exposure has been confirmed by a pediatric infectious disease doctor (member of IDSA!) and a neurologist, though these two docs weren't ready to immediately attribute his symptoms to Lyme. They both wanted to run a bunch of tests. I'm actually not opposed to testing, so we are following through on some of their recommmended tests while continuing the abx treatment with the LLMD.
justinekno Posted September 4, 2010 Report Posted September 4, 2010 (edited) My ds(10) and I are both being treated for Lyme. I had Lyme (bulls eye rash) which was treated with only 10 days of doxy prior to conceiving my son. He is Igenex positive - IGM 41 & 58 and IGG 31,34,39,41,45,58 (one band shy of being CDC positive on both IGM and IGG). My recent CD57 was low 20's. Edited September 8, 2010 by justinekno
cobbiemommy Posted September 9, 2010 Report Posted September 9, 2010 My Ds, 11, tested positive in August of 2009 by Igenex Labs IGG, not much showed up on IGm. He was incorrectly diagnosed as not having lyme. After Ivig in July for Pandas, he started getting the telltale rash for Bartonella. Labs were taken to a LLMD in August of 2010 and determined he has Lyme. Currently taking Zithromax and Augmentin.

Fair so far. We just upped the Zith to 500 mg last Wed. Right around the time that everything seemed to go in the toilet. Maybe it is die off....
