P_Mom Posted June 2, 2010 Report Posted June 2, 2010 (edited) Absolutely gut wrenching. I remember Dr Latimer speaking of her sons when we went to see her. A mother's love is truely undeniable.....we all know that. With all the heartache that we have endured with our PANDAS kids, it pails in comparison to the loss Dr. Latimer has suffered. Please pray for her and her family.......and go give your kids a big hug and kiss, and, be thankful for them, PANDAS and all. This was in her son's obituary.........I am speechless. "Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA on Friday, June 25 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in his name to OU Pandas Foundation, P.O. Box 26901, Library - 162, Oklahoma City, OK 7312. Please view and sign the family guestbook at: www.pumphreyfuneralhome.com" Edited June 2, 2010 by P.Mom
Diana Posted June 2, 2010 Report Posted June 2, 2010 Hi Folks - I'll be sending out an email from Latimer's office regarding the loss of her son tomorrow. They asked me to wait a few days. Beth and the gals in the office are devastated beyond words.
thereishope Posted June 2, 2010 Report Posted June 2, 2010 I feel so bad. To be struck with sudden tragedy once and then again. Speechless. My prayers go out to her and her family.
Suzan Posted June 2, 2010 Report Posted June 2, 2010 Got this from Dr. T's site: http://www.wusa9.com/rss/local_article.aspx?storyid=101805 OMG, it is a horrible thing. My heart goes out to her. She's been through so much already. Susan
lfran Posted June 2, 2010 Report Posted June 2, 2010 This is so very sad. I have never met her, but I have read so many positive comments about her from others on this forum. What a tragedy. forjpj Posted June 2, 2010 Report Posted June 2, 2010 She is such a wonderful lady! Thanks for posting this info!
Chemar Posted June 2, 2010 Report Posted June 2, 2010 my deepest condolences to Dr Latimer and family. I cannot even begin to imagine how devastated she is. How deeply touching tho that she would honor his memory by aiding PANDAS research (ps this was posted here the day it occurred, but it was removed at the request of her office. I imagine they must have been fielding so many calls of sympathy that it became too much to deal with)
matis_mom Posted June 2, 2010 Report Posted June 2, 2010 I'm still in shock... Amazing that in the midst of this tragedy she still had the presence of mind to think of our PANDAS kids!
FallingApart Posted June 2, 2010 Report Posted June 2, 2010 This is devastating. Dr. Latimer is such a caring person. Her tragedies are beyond belief. I wish I could help her.
wornoutmom Posted June 2, 2010 Report Posted June 2, 2010 I will be sending in my donation to OU in honor of her son's memory. My heart truly goes out to her - I cannot imagine the vast loss she is enduring.
EAMom Posted June 2, 2010 Report Posted June 2, 2010 no wonder she missed the conference.... what a saint to think about PANDAS kids in this time.
dee45 Posted June 2, 2010 Report Posted June 2, 2010 Thanks for the update I had no idea we do not see her until July how very, very sad. Deanna
