dut Posted May 4, 2010 Report Posted May 4, 2010 Thanks.. but a part of me wishes I hadn't asked. My puny brain didn't really get that Should I make the mad leap, from the bit I did get, that monthly flouride treatments might not be a good idea for a kid with raised CaMK levels.. or is that connecting dots that aren't there? thanks....
peglem Posted May 4, 2010 Author Report Posted May 4, 2010 The reason I looked it up is because my daughter just had a fluoride treatment, and it did seem to make things worse, but she was already going downhill, so I don't know. From the article: We found that 10-min treatment with NaF produces maximal CaMKII activity, followed by a return to the basal level at 30 min And they were testing in endothelial cells, I think. Maybe some science wise-guy (ehem, Buster) will come along and help!
patty Posted May 4, 2010 Report Posted May 4, 2010 FYI, dental cleaner used during cleaning also contain flouride, not just the flouride treatment. When we used to go to the conventional dentist, my son would tic more after each cleaning. We have since switched to a holistic dentist and who does not used flouride & mercury and my son is fine after dental cleaning. Pat
Chemar Posted May 4, 2010 Report Posted May 4, 2010 just an FYI that many kids with neuro probs seem to have extreme sensitivity to fluoride my son got very ill whenever the dentist did the fluoride stuff and this was way before we even knew he had neuro problems I learned later about fluoride triggering some kids

Oh, sorry, try this. http://ajplung.physiology.org/cgi/content/full/290/6/L1139 What would this mean in terms of water with flouride in it? We don't have flouride in our water, but the water at dd's school is public water, which does contain flouride. Also, in terms of flouride at the dentist. The kids don't actually swallow that, so would that really pose a big risk?
