MichaelTampa Posted February 22, 2010 Report Posted February 22, 2010 I have always been attracted to yellow, it is by far my favorite color. I get excited whenever I see anyone wearing yellow, particularly with black. There are theories on color therapy, that yellow is good for digestion (I've always had digestive issues), that it relates to chakras and emotions. I think for control issues is one of the chakra/emotion ones, but don't have that information in front of me. When I went to try Irlen lenses for help with light sensitivity, I did test best for yellow. Some of the supplements that are the most important for me are yellow--CoQ10, alpha lipoic acid, SAMe, vitamin B2, and vitamin B6. And yes, I put turmeric in a lot of dishes that others would not, and test very strong for it, and am considering trying the Enhansa discussed earlier. Anyway, so, just curious how much any of this might be in common with PANDAS, or not. I'd enjoy having others post the favorite color for the PANDAS people in their family, and, if there are any, add any other interesting tidbits related to that which seem interesting or relevant. Michael
jewels Posted February 22, 2010 Report Posted February 22, 2010 Black is mine! Shoes, cars, pepper, and the bit that I get when I sleep. Also love everything that is red apart from the sight of blood. Jules
MomWithOCDSon Posted February 22, 2010 Report Posted February 22, 2010 My DS12 PANDAS loves all things blue . . . especially the sort of aquamarine color you see in a Caribbean ocean (not that he's ever seen a Caribbean ocean, but that's the tone he specifically picked out in some new linens for his room). Perhaps most interesting, though, is that he has a thing for tye-dye, and an all-blue tye-dye is his undeniable favorite. The tye-dye pattern can resemble illustrations I've seen of chakras, so that's a little synchronistic, I think. My dad is a registered music therapist and has always been "into" all things new-age with respect to color therapy, color associated with specific notes/tones, chakras, auras, etc. It's my best recollection that blue is supposed to be a "calming" color, restful, etc. Yellow, meanwhile, Michael, is an "intellectual" or "thinking" color. One of my favorites, in home decor, anyway (though I don't tend to actually wear much of it), is lavendar. This is supposed to be a "psychic, intuitive" color, so I hope it's helping my intuition while I sleep in my lavendar bedroom!
thereishope Posted February 22, 2010 Report Posted February 22, 2010 My PANDAS son favorite color is RED. Another question is what number are you drawn to? My PANDAS son number is 4. When he was in an exacerbation he would write the number 4 over and over filling up a whole piece of paper. It was also the number he's count to for OCD. The psych said 4 is the most common number for rituals and obsessions with OCD.
Suzan Posted February 22, 2010 Report Posted February 22, 2010 dd7 - Pink dd8 - Blue and Green (in that order)
simplygina Posted February 22, 2010 Report Posted February 22, 2010 My son's is also blue-green. His favorite number is 8.
Fixit Posted February 22, 2010 Report Posted February 22, 2010 a year or 2 ago ds was red, so i questioned when he got an overlay for reading that it was in red...... he had special reading assigned because he was behind...i attributied it to living in PA were reading wasn't required till 1st grade and K was a 1/2 in Ga 1yr preschool state funded, k full day, an everyone is reading war and peace in the 1st grade. Anyway as i worked with teachers they could note a dramatic difference in his reading fluency with the overlay on. i tried it a couple of times when i was reading something glossy on white paper, especially with florescent lights...what a difference and it is easier for my son to read when the print is on a colored paper.....check it out for yourself too.....very interesting Mike i hope this helps....it's amazing how things come together.... I think you can get overlays for yourself And my sister in law ...who is also an angel now....we used to think she was a little batty(no blood to me or my son) was able to get a couple of pairs of colored glasses to wear around..... I know that wont solve your problem but maybe you would be able to go back to work!!!!!!
