abbe
Hey, Just go Nicholas 2nd organic acid profile and I am happy to say that it looked better than the first. i have some questions though and was wondering if anyone could help. On his first test the levels for yeast/fungal for arabinose and 3-oxoglutaric were high. This test only the 3-oxoglutaric was high and almost the same number of .69. Is there one type that is harder to kill than another??? Also he had decreased pyroglutamic acid both times which the test says that means low glutathione. i give him a liqued oral glutathione and the cream every night. My questions is should I switch to the NAC to try and increase his levels. He is low in pyridoxic which means he needs more b6. I give him a b complex which works well for him but stopped the individual b6. any thoughts or ideas on what works for you guys will help .. Thanks abbe
kim
Abbe, Have you tried individual P5P, instead of B6 or B complex? As far as NAC goes, wondering if you or your Dr. utilized the phone consult that is offered with the test (asssuming they still do that). I would try to get their opinion. I'm refering to Great Plains labs. I guess it depends on who you ordered it thru, whether or not they might comment on that.

Caryn
abbe, Have you tested for pyroluria? Have been hearing a lot today about zinc deficiency here. Needs to be monitored by a doctor because toxicity is a problem if you overdose. Low glutathione is indicated in pyroluria. We have recently started NAC. Must be taken with C. MichaelTampa
FYI, P5P is a form of vitamin B6. It is the kind I take. It is a bit more expensive than the more typical vitamin B6, but I hear it is better--more easily used by the body.
faith
abbe, did you do the Organic Acids profile on your own or thru a doc or professional of some kind? Did it tell anything about vitamin deficiencies? just wondering what it tells, I've never had this for my son. Faith

Faith Faith, You can do it on your own but need a dr's signature. call them for the info. and they will explain. It tests a BUNCH of things I suggest it. abbe
