nicm930 Posted March 30, 2009 Report Posted March 30, 2009 Hi, a week and a half ago we did the interview with the NBC 10 news reporter. She called today and said it is going to air tonight at 5 and 11 pm. There is supposed to be a link on their website after the report airs. When I find out I will let you know. I stressed to her how hard it is to find help. I hope it turned out well.

EAMom Posted March 30, 2009 Report Posted March 30, 2009 How exciting!!! Is this on the national news (or just Philadelphia)?

nicm930 Posted March 31, 2009 Author Report Posted March 31, 2009 Thanks everyone. There was a lot that didn't make it into the report, like about IVIG. They were here for over an hour and I know couldn't fit it all in a few minute segment. I wanted them to stress how hard it is to get antibiotics. I am still fighting to keep my dd on them. I hope it brings awareness of PANDAS to the medical community.
EAMom Posted March 31, 2009 Report Posted March 31, 2009 Nicole...that was awesome!! I think they did a pretty good job considering they only had 4 minutes. Give your dd an extra big hug tonight! Your husband is a sweetheart too...I feel so bad for the moms that post that don't have the full support of their spouses.
Lacy Posted March 31, 2009 Report Posted March 31, 2009 Oh my goodness that 4 minute bit was perfect! I couldn't help getting choked up while listening and watching. I feel connected to everyone here, but actually seeing you, your DD and DH and seeing the pain in your DH's eyes, and you're beautiful DD and her description of how she felt... oh my goodness I was just so emotionally overwhelemed. PANDAS needs so much more media attention.
bronxmom2 Posted March 31, 2009 Report Posted March 31, 2009 This was really beautiful, I cried too. Thank you for doing this.
michele Posted March 31, 2009 Report Posted March 31, 2009 That was very well done. The emotional aspect of the parents added so much to show what we go through as parents trying to get our kids help for a contraversal illness. Thank you so much for doing it. I hope other TV shows will get involved. I emailed the Dr's but never heard anymore about it. Your daughter is so pretty! It is so nice you have the support of both spouses. I pray we can all find a long term treatment plan that works.
mom md Posted April 1, 2009 Report Posted April 1, 2009 Great job. Your daughter is beautiful. I know someone who is an anchor in Charlotte and I am going to see if I can do the same...spread the word!

Media attention - this is fantastic! Good luck and keep us posted if you are able to get your Charlotte buddy on board with a story.
betterdays Posted April 1, 2009 Report Posted April 1, 2009 Thanks everyone. There was a lot that didn't make it into the report, like about IVIG. I hope it brings awareness of PANDAS to the medical community. That was excellent. I just joined group. My 8 year old beauty was diagnosed with PANDAS>SHe is much better but still has some residual counting and crying in school sometimes. HELP! SHe has neurologist but she seems to think everything is fine. I am worried about my little girls brain. Thanks I am glad to talk to others who know what this is!
EAMom Posted April 2, 2009 Report Posted April 2, 2009 Hi betterdays, If you post your dd's history/symptoms and what meds she is on (prophylactic antibiotics?) under a separate post more people will see it and can help you out. Use the New Topic link on the upper (but not very top) right hand side of the PANDAS forum. Let us also know where you are located...maybe someone can recommend a doc...neurologists don't tend to be very helpful with PANDAS.
