faith
Carolyn, he has been coming home from school crying in pain for three days and on Friday I stopped and picked up Vitamin C, Apple Cider Vinegar Capsules, N-Acetly-L-Cysteine and Yeast Guard. I gave him 500 mg of Vitamin C, 500 mg of Apple Cider Vinegar, 600 mg of N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine and a capsule of Yeast Guard. Within 20 minutes the crying was replaced with laughing and sheer joy. My son was so overjoyed that his tics had diminished to almost nothing that he begged me the next morning to give him another dose of supplements. His mouth has healed up quite nicely over the weekend. My ex-husband was beside himself and said it truly works. My son said that within 15-20 minutes of taking his supplements his tics subside considerably. God Bless you Carolyn, Nicole ************************************** Ruby23 (Nicole) This bit from Kim's last post made me think of you when you posted the above -- Could you give us an update on the NAC and if you have continued to give? I remember you said your son was upset and crying and when you gave him the NAC about twenty minutes later he was happy and laughing? How was he in the day following this? In this I think they are referring to if the person does not need this supplement? I'm not clear on it, but it rang a bell for me with your description upon giving it and so wanted to get your updated input. Does this mean anything to you? Any details you could give would be appreciated. http://onibasu.com/archives/am/40863.html Thanks Faith
CarolynN
Hi Kim, I looked up the information on the Internet regarding the Methylsulfonymethane (MSM). Wow that was a long word to type ! It does look interesting! I will run it by the Naturopathic Doctor I am seeing next week. See what she thinks about the MSM for the use for tics. She is a real good doctor and if she does not know the answer she will be real upfront with me. How awesome it would be to come up with another sulfur supplying supplement that could help others. Let me know what else you find out Kim. Just in case someone else wants to read about it, I found a fairly detailed website on MSM at this site http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Methylsulfonylmethane . Have a blessed day, Carolyn
kim
Carolyn N, If you search "MSM heparan sulfate" or "MSM autism" you'll get a ton of articles. I'm going thru some of them this morning. Looks like there are people looking at this sulfur metabolism. The second article that I posted here, was nice to find as I have read info about redox on a few autism sites. Susan Owen's paper on GAGS (easy reading) http://osiris.sunderland.ac.uk/autism/owens.htm Probably not a good idea to inject mercury into people with a genetic problem with sulfur met. or could injected mercury or environmental/ amalgams etc. be enough to CAUSE this problem? http://www.grc.org/programs.aspx?year=2008&program=thiol Gordon Research Institute 9:00 am - 12:30 pm REGULATION AND TARGETING OF SULFUR METABOLISM Discussion Leader: Ursula Jakob (University of Michigan) May 2008 Italy Discussion Leader: Ursula Jakob (University of Michigan) Big old heperan sulfate article (pretty technical) http://www.nature.com/nature/journal/v446/...ature05817.html Heparan sulphate proteoglycans fine-tune mammalian physiology http://www.ibex.ca/ENZglyco.htm
